The Apple of My Eye

Chapter 1747 Don't Cross The Line

Chapter 1747 Don't Cross The Line

"Leila, I'm fine. Don't worry about me," Melissa said, forcing a smile. Anyone who saw her could tell that

she wasn't in good condition at all. She only said that because she didn't want Leila to worry.

Leila approached them and held Melissa's arm so she could walk Melissa to the sofa. She couldn't help

but notice that they both looked like they weren't feeling well, especially Charles. He even looked guilty.

Leila tried to give him an exit by saying, "Charles, it's fine, you can go ahead. I can stay with Aunt

Melissa. I'll take care of her. Don't worry."

"Yes, Leila is right. Charles, go ahead. I'll be fine with Leila," Melissa added.

Charles nodded and headed upstairs without protest.

Melissa heaved a deep breath as soon as he was gone. She turned to look at Leila and sighed, "It was

so difficult to pretend to be sick!"

"Aunt Melissa, what's happening now? Has Charles agreed to divorce Sheryl?" Leila asked anxiously,

looking at Melissa with expectant eyes.

She just wanted Charles and Sheryl to divorce. If there was anything she could do, she wouldn't give it

a second thought—she'd do anything. She just wanted to be the lady of Dream Garden.

"Yes, he did. You can relax now. He's going to do it. Our plan worked,"

Melissa beamed. She'd been waiting for this for so long.

Everyone knew how much Charles and Sheryl had gone through. Even if they tried, they couldn't get

things back to the way they were.

Meanwhile, at Holley's home

As the day of Holley's deadline from Ferry approached, she couldn't help but feel scared. Once that

day came, she'd have to marry Jason, and she couldn't do anything about it.

She woke up very early because she had trouble sleeping. She decided to go to work, but even when

she arrived there, she still couldn't get her mind off things.

Holley was going crazy. She didn't know what to do to help save herself. She felt like things were out of

her control, and all she could do was watch. She couldn't do anything even if she wanted to.

"Miss Ye, we need your signature in this document," her secretary said after she knocked on the door

and came in. She put the file on the table carefully and looked at Holley uneasily.

She knew very well that Holley hadn't been herself lately. It had been causing problems with her work,

too, and several of her colleagues were starting to notice. She didn't want to bother Holley right now,

but she really needed to have this document signed.

"Who allowed you to come in?" Holley shouted. She was startled by her secretary's abrupt presence

since she was so lost in her own thoughts.

Her secretary started to feel nervous at once. She pointed at the door and explained, "Miss Ye, I

knocked on the door, and you let me in."

She didn't seem to be lying, but Holley was still pissed. Holley snorted, "Are you saying that I'm crazy

enough not to remember that?"

"No, no! Miss Ye, that's not what I meant! I just..." her secretary said anxiously. She was shaking her

head, but unable to say a thing.

"Enough! No more excuses! Do you think I wouldn't know if I let you come in or not?"

Holley stared at her secretary in disgust as if she'd done something unforgivable.

Her secretary looked distressed. She didn't say anything anymore, and her face was red in

embarrassment. She had to control herself from crying.

This irked Holley even more. She lifted her finger and pointed towards the door, and then she ordered,

"Get out now! No one is allowed to come in here without my permission!"

After she spoke, she put her elbows on the table and started rubbing her temples to ease her

headache.

The secretary left as soon as Holley dismissed her. She didn't want to stay a second longer.

When the secretary left, Holley's phone started ringing.

Holley jolted when she heard her phone. She opened her eyes and checked her phone. It was Jason.

Holley was relieved to find that it wasn't Ferry. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

"What do you want?" Holley asked indifferently. She didn't care for Jason at all. If he didn't work for

Ferry, she would've asked someone to beat him up already.

"Holley, my dear, how can you talk to me like that? We'll be getting married soon. I suggest you treat

me like a wife should treat her husband," Jason mocked.

Just hearing his voice made Holley sick. She couldn't imagine how she'd ever survive if she did end up

marrying Jason. But for now, she had no choice.

Holley tried her best to control her anger and disgust. She gritted her teeth and growled, "Jason, just

get straight to the point. What do you want? I'm warning you. Don't try me."

Jason could tell how angry Holley was, but he didn't really care. No matter what Holley felt about him,

she had no choice but to marry him and spend the rest of her life with him. The thought of this made

Jason excited. He loved that Holley hated him. It made him feel fulfilled.

"You're my fiancé. I think I have the right to call you if I want to. Any time I want," Jason said rather

provocatively.

Holley took a deep breath to calm herself down. Before Jason could say anything else, she hung up the

phone.

Jason was surprised to find that Holley had hung up. He grinned as he muttered to himself, "Holley, in

just a few days, you won't be able to get rid of me anymore. You'll be all mine."

Then he lay back on his bed. Not long after, he groaned even though he wasn't in any pain. He just

wanted to get the nurses' attention. It was his only form of entertainment.

The doctor had already told him numerous times that he could be discharged. He just wanted to stay

longer. He'd say he had a stomach ache or that there was a pain in his abdomen, just so he would get

more check-ups every day. To keep him entertained in the hospital, he harassed the nurses, and when

he got tired of that, he would call Holley.

"Mr. Gao, you're done with all your check-ups, and the results have come back. You're very healthy,

and you can be discharged today," a nurse came over and said to Jason. She didn't want to deal with

him anymore, but he just kept groaning, and the other patients might hear him.

"Really? But there's this sort of twinge of pain in my chest," Jason said as he seductively stared at the

nurse.

Then he pulled his hospital gown away so that he was showing off his chest. He asked the nurse for a

check-up as he displayed his naked body to her.

The nurse, naturally, felt embarrassed. She was blushing as she didn't know what to do.

"Miss, are you all right? Do you feel hot now? Why is your face so red?" Jason teased.

He was used to flirting, and he was very good at it. The nurse was pissed, and she just wanted to get

out of there. It didn't take long for her to leave the room.
