Chapter 92 Lovers In Paris
…Cassidy POV…
I have never been to Paris, never have I thought that I would find myself walking through a city of lovers looking for my very own love.
It is by pure fate that we do find ourselves here, or should I say luck? Locating one of Elloise’s lovers was easy, for she had so many, and almost every one of them told us the same, if she had a man that she loves with her, this is where she would take him. In a city with millions, where do we even start?
He can be in any of these thousands and thousands of buildings with these hundreds and hundreds of rooms. With total disappear, I look at Damien, who holds very much the same feeling, “Damien, where do we even begin? Did this man not say where she would go?”
“I am afraid that he did not have much to say but give a location.”
Feeling defeated, I sit down at a little bistro; as I look over the beauty of the city, I cannot help but stare at the hundreds of lovers holding hands, happily sharing a moment; these are moments that I should be sharing with Lucas.
But some evil woman in pink decided to rip him from me. “Wait, Damien, do you find cherry blossoms in Paris?”
“Well, we can soon find out,” he hands his phone over to Jacob, who in only mere seconds brings us the answer.
“Twenty-six, seriously, twenty-six places,” I throw my arms in the air, “How long is this going to take us?”
“Well, if we slip up, then we can get there far quicker,” Damien says as he shoves each of us in a direction.
“I am coming, my love, just hang on.”
…Lucas POV…
It has been six days, nine hours, and twenty seconds.
We left Paris in a rather abrupt rush.
So here I am…
In Venice.
In a small café surrounded by strangers.
I am scribbling on the very same notepad that I found in Paris. My hope that Cassidy shall find my trail of letters still lies fresh within my heart. Elloise has not yet become any wiser to know that I am not drawing pictures but in fact that I am leaving clues behind. She is too far away in her delusional mind that she has not noticed that I am distanced and not paying any attention to her futile attempt to bring us closer to the perfect lovers that she wants.
I thought by now that I would be safe back in Cassidy’s arms. Unfortunately, it appears that we are so far away that she would have no idea where even to start looking. Still, I am not without hope that she shall find me.
So I will continue writing…
“My beloved, I am writing to you from a small café in Venice.
I miss you.
I wish you were here to see some godawful pastry covered in pink that she has shoved in front of my face in the attempt to get it down my throat. For some reason, she believes if we do the things that humans do then we will not stand out. Well, I have news for her… Her pink dress sticks out bad enough, no amount of pastries is going to make us blend in between this crowd.
At least apart from her nagging, she does leave me to sit in peace. Though in these moments of silence, I cannot stop thinking of all that I have done wrong. Not only as Vampire Master but as your beloved. Yes, it is true that all these lovers came from my past, if it were not for the way I lived my life, then we would not be with you chasing my shadow. I truly hope that you are chasing it. I believe that fate brought us together, and it shall be fate that shall guide us back.
Now more than ever, with a newfound breath, I know that it is not my past that defines me. The only thing that defines me is us, our love. And it is this love that I know I have taken for granted, I have thought it as to be a given where in fact I need to earn it just like I need to earn your trust.
You are the only one that is a perfect fit for this Vampire Master. If it was not for you my beloved, I would be lost. You are the air that I breathe, the air that fills lungs that no longer work. You are the blood that beats through a heart that has stopped beating so long ago. You are the one thing that has stayed constant…
Your love is the only thing I want; there I nothing else in the world that I want more. You are everything to me, and I will simply perish if you do not find me and I am not reunited in your arms.
I love you, my beloved. Yours Lucas”
…Cassidys POV…This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
It has been six days, nine hours, and twenty seconds.
Thanks to a very helpful gentleman that saw Elloise and Lucas, we have been led back to this Paris Hotel in a room overlooking the very bistro that we found ourselves when we came here the first day. The man’s exact words, ‘She looked like a pink fairy.’ Well, if that was not a dead giveaway. So we then followed her trail back here.
Now we find ourselves in front of the door, with a very over-eager Damien ready to storm through the door. Behind him is Jacob, prepared with the Ancient blade. He is set, with the first sight of her; he is forcing it through her little pink heart.
So with one loud thud, Damien kicks down the door, I immediately rush through. As I get into the room, the anticipation of seeing is the only thing that is pushing me into danger, but…there is nothing. I rush to the bathroom, then back to the room and the balcony; there is no sign of them ever being here. The guy was absolutely certain; he saw them here. Could he have been wrong? Have we been chasing a ghost all along?
A deep sadness grabs hold of me, then, out of nowhere, Damien hands me a note. I can see clearly that it is Lucas’s writing. Damien and Jacob step out to give me the privacy to read in private.
His words seem comforting, but there is a sadness behind them. It appears that he has lost faith that we shall find him, that we shall never find him. Well, he is wrong; I shall not give up for one minute until I have him back in my arms.
So, I meet Damien and Jacob outside, “He does not give any clue to where they might have gone; I don’t know where to next.”
Damien makes a call to Elloise’s lover; he comes back with half a motivated smile on his face, “Italy, he said Italy or Greece.”
I am not one to gamble, but having to choose an option that could possibly be between life and death scares the hell out of me. What if I make the wrong choice, and we put ourselves even further behind. Italy or Greece? Greece or Italy? Lucas, where are you? Please give me a sign; please help me find you. I do not know where to go.
“Come, I have decided, let us go.”
…Lucas POV…
It has been twelve days, three hours, and nine seconds.
She drag me away from the peace I felt in the bistros of Venice and come to nestle me as far away as she possibly.
“My beloved, I am in Delphi.
Elloise has become more delusional in the way that she is thinking. If you ask me, I say that she has always been this way, but her supposed love that she claims that she feels for me has only but driven her more insane.
Being here tells me that you are perhaps closing in and that she is now only becoming desperate. Yet, as I try to find your face between those of the many strangers, I am sadly reminded that I have lost you and even possibly myself.
My beloved, I so wish that you shall prove me wrong. I wish that you shall drag me out of this hole and that I shall be faced with your beautiful face again. But fate seems to remind me over and over once more that it shall never happen.
I am sorry, my beloved.
I place too much faith in others. It seems to be a rather annoying talent.
And once again, I did it with Elloise, and believe me; I will always regret it. As with everything that I have done, I can only hope that you will let me right that wrong.
Please, my beloved, I need for you to find me. I know you will. Please come save me from this loneliness and the evil that surrounds me.
I love you and much more than my heart can ever hold. I am holding on; I am still waiting. Yours Lucas.”
