Shouldn't Have Kissed You

Chapter 17

Chapter 17

Maya finished to fold her last clothe in the bag. It was their last day in their 'honeymoon' and she

couldn't be any happier than she was at that time. How ironic was that? Real couples who go for real

honeymoon they always don't want their love days to come to an end.

They even go to an extent of adding few more weeks even a month. But there she was, happy. Happy

that her mystery of an honeymoon was coming to an end. She closed her bag and slid it on the floor.

Maya walked towards the kitchen to take a glass of water. She was thirsty from all the work she had

done all afternoon. Yes, they had to stay till afternoon since according to their flight, they had to land at

6:30pm and it was 4:49pm, which left her with nothing to do.

Maya walked back to the sitting room and sat on the couch. The couch that had become her bed for

the past one week. She was going to miss it. Miss it since back at the mansion, it was the cold floor

that she had to sleep on. She let out a breath that she had no idea she was holding when she began to

think of that cold floor.

Maya shook her head to try and convince herself to try and see the good side of it. The cold floor made

her not to need alarm since it turned to be day time, the more it became cold. This made her to never

be late at work something that she thought would happen once she ever got married.2

To her, getting married before was taking yours and your husband's responsibility. But with Chris, it was Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

different. All you had to do was pay for everything bad that happened in his life. That was the only

responsibility that you had to take care of.

Thinking of paying, her mind couldn't help but think of three days ago. The day she slept at Leone's

place and came back late. Her husband made her pay. He made her sleep on the cold floor for the

remaining hours of the night but not in the living room.

Chris said he didn't trust her to be alone because she could sleep on the couch, so, he asked her to

move to the bedroom. The following day, he woke up with an hungover, and still blamed her. He asked

her to make sure that it was gone and he didn't care how she did it and he, he didn't need any kinda

medication.

So Maya did what she knew the best. She clapped on the bed, which Chris protest asking her what she

was doing. Then she moved behind his back while he sat on his sitting position. She massaged his

head for three hours none stop.

All Chris did was protest when she tried to stop. He would complain that his head still hurt like hell. So,

she continued till he fell back asleep again. Her fingers hurt since she wasn't a masseuse. When she

thought she was done with the problem for a while, she found a large list of the work she had to do that

day.

Her eyes almost pooped out of her socket with all the things that were written on it. Her dad hated her

but he never made her do the house chores. She had maids for that job. So, how was she even going

to do it. Clean the whole penthouse without making any noise to wake him up.4

If there was one weakness about Maya and she knew about, it was that she was clumsy. Then how

was she going to work around the penthouse without making any noise. It's not like she hadn't tried to

do this so many times, she did but her nanny had to tell her to stop.1

To stop since she was worse. She would only tell her to stick to her books that contained allot of

Chemistry and Biology since that's what she was good at. And now, here she was, if only she insisted

more than before. Maybe she would have more than making coffee and preparing a glass of juice.

Maya did the cleaning as she was asked but it was harder than she thought. By the time she was done,

she thought Chris will be awake complaining but it seemed her hands had a magic since he slept all

through it despite all the mess she made while doing her chores

Once she was done, she looked at the last thing that was on the list. It was about her making all the

food that he had mentioned in the paper. 'And to make sure you don't find any excuse to go and meet

up with that kid, all the ingredients are on the upper cabin.' Maya felt like walking inside that room and

shouting I aren't your mama, like Jennifer Lopez, but she calmed herself done. It was for the better, she

tried to tell herself as she breathed in and out.2

Thanks to technology, she prepared everything as she watched it in the You Tube. The food was done

also and she wondered what all the different types of meals were for since it was only the three of

them. I mean, plus Kimberly whom she hadn't seen the whole day which was something new that day.

Once Maya was done, she walked to the bathroom and took a cold shower. Her body needed to relax

but not that long. As she was about to sit on the couch now dressed in jeans and a black top, Chris

walked to the living room.

He asked her, no, he commanded her to pack the cooked food and take it to Kimberly's room. Of

course, it did shock her but she had to follow orders. Orders are orders. So, she got up and did as she

was asked. They got to Kimberly's floor and door number which Chris opened with his spare key.

It didn't surprise Maya at all, after all they're a couple. Maya placed the food on the coffee table and

turned to walk away. She needed to give the two love Birds Space to talk. Just as she was about to

walk past the door, Chris asked her.

"Don't you have something to say, Jezebel?"1

That made her turn to the couple. Chris was pecking Kimberly's face while Kimberly looked up at her.

Maya cleared her throat and apologized for ruining their evening. But Kimberly added 'and' making her

apologize for kissing her husband.1

Whoever does that? Apologize for kissing your own husband? Apparently, Maya does it. So after she

was done with the apology, Kimberly gave her the permission to leave but Chris asked her to stay.

According to him, he didn't want her to meet up with that kid. It didn't make any of the ladies happy but

Chris had spoken up.9

Speaking of the kid, Leonel hadn't come back to look for Maya since that day. It had been three days

and he hadn't shown himself to her. She even wondered if that's how much he was afraid of Chris.

But with the way he was threaten, Maya knew better. She knew that Leonel would choose his work

over her. They had just met four days ago and his work was always there. What would make him

choose her over his work? Nothing. The only regret she had was that she didn't take his number as he

had suggested. But meeting with him, it was a blessing and all she could do is hope that one day, their

path would cross again.

Maya looked up when she heard the front door open. In walked her dear faithful husband with Kimberly

in his arms. She thought he had gone to say goodbye to her when he left but here they were, the two of

them.

From what she had gathered, Kimberly was staying behind for another one week to take care of some

business. Business that Maya had no idea that models deal with, she held her tongue not to ask telling

herself to stick to what she knew the best. And that is to operate on people.

"I'm going to miss you, darling," Kimberly said pecking Chris' lips.

Maya watched Chris pull her into a passionate kiss which was something that she had gotten used to.

The funny thing was that, it didn't bother her one bit. To her, he could kiss whoever he wanted and she,

she was there to act like a perfect wife without feeling any kinda jealous.

When he was done, he looked at Maya and she stared back at him. His hazel eyes turned to blue and

she knew what was coming next. So, before he uttered a word, Maya got on her feet and took her bag

that sat next beside her. It was 5:30 and from the hotel to the mansion, it was a one hour drive without

any traffic jam. Which we all know it's impossible.

"Lemme take my suitcase," Chris said as heard the door being knocked.

Maya opened the door and she was greeted by the chauffeur. He took her bag as she asked him to

wait for Chris. When he returned with his bag, he handed it over and Maya was about to walk away

with the chauffeur.

"Where are you going?" Chris asked staring at her.

Maya turned to him and answered in a daah voice, "I'm going to wait in the car?"

Chris turned to Kimberly who was texting on her phone. Maya couldn't see argue flash on his face as

he called for her attention.

"You'll stay here for the one week and the bill will be on me. I'll tell the receptionist that someone is

staying here."

"Thank you darling," she said as she finished to type.

"Okay, I've to go but be a good girl for me, will you?"

"Always," Kimberly kissed him before they walked to the elevator with Maya.1

Once Chris finished talking to the receptionist, they walked out of the hotel and to the waiting car which

they slid inside. To Maya, she was going back to the cold floor and to the old mood swing husband

since Kimberly wasn't around for him. But the good side of it, she was going to be with Alma and

Bernice her mother in law if she was going to stay any longer. But something that will never leave her

always, her patients. She missed her work and she was happy that was going back to it.
