Chapter 54 – He Proposed
"How far are we?"
Lyken glanced sideward and noticed that her mood had gotten better. "We're close, don't worry! Are you hungry too?"
She looked at her as she nodded, then shifted her position to lean her head on his shoulder. My heart leaped. She's very unpredictable.
She was fuming mad earlier, and now she's sweet all of a sudden. Despite the mood swings, Lyken still loves her and won't trade her for anything in the world.
He lightly kissed her forehead, and she returned it with a peck on his cheek. Lyken broke into a smile. He loves this side of her.
After a while, he can already see the restaurant's signage. That's where their friends and parents were waiting for them. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Lyken's smile widened, but his anxiety heightened. He even steals a sigh as he stops near the parking lot. "Are we here?" she asked, and he nodded as he turned off the engine and took off his seatbelt.
"Sec," he quickly told her as he stepped out of the car. Lyken ran to the passenger side to open the door for her. He even offered a hand to assist her.
She held her as she stepped out and didn't let go as they walked towards the restaurant. When they got in, Lyken told her he needed to visit the restroom and asked the receptionist to take Jada to their reserved table. When Lyken got inside the restroom, he immediately called Kobe. "Dude, we're here! Where are you?"
"We're here near the backdoor. Don't worry, dude. Jada won't see us. I made sure the table I got for you won't see the backside of the restaurant." Kobe informed him.
"Alright, man, just wait for my signal," then he ended the call.
Lyken looked around the restaurant. He couldn't help but smile when he realized everything was going smoothly. He sighed in relief, thankful for their friends. He'll have to make it up to them one day.
Part of the plan is to allow some customers to dine in. They did that so that Jada won't suspect that the place was rented. If that happens, she will surely not stop asking.
He heads for the table, where she's already seated, looking at the venue as she waits for him. The waiter shot his brows at Lyken, and he quickly nodded as he sat down.
"Baby, you should try their seafood pasta in white wine. It's one of the best I've tasted so far," Lyken suggested without being too suspicious that the food suggestion was also part of the plan.
"Hmm, ok then, I'll have that. I want cappuccino cheesecake and four seasons as well," Jada added as she returned the menu to the waiter.
"I'll have the same," he told him, and the waiter turned on his heel after nodding at him. Lyken noticed Jada looking around, "Let's go out there later. The view's breathtaking."
He pointed at the balcony to stop her from looking around. She might see something she's not supposed to see yet. That could spoil the plan.
"Really? Sure, it's my first time here. It would be great if we could look around," she said with a smile.
While waiting for their food, she pulled out her phone and started checking her social media accounts and email. Lyken did the same, but his purpose was to send a message to Kobe to let them know they have already placed their orders. When the food came, Jada quickly dug in. She does look hungry as she's only focused on her food. "Ouch!" she exclaimed after she took in a mouthful of cheesecake for the third time.
"Why, what's wrong?" He asked, feigning innocence.
"There's..." she then sticks her tongue out to see whatever it is.
Her eyes slowly widened, and her mouth turned to an 'O' as she looked at the object she took out of her mouth. Jada wasn't taking her eyes off the ring as if wondering if it was real or fake. From the ring, her eyes slowly moved to look at Lyken. He couldn't help but break into a smile. Jada's reaction was priceless.
"Baby?" she asked, still looking confused.
Lyken quickly stood up and knelt next to her. "I won't deliver any more introduction into this Ja. I wouldn't want you to run out of patience and get mad at me. All I want to ask is, will you marry me and become my Mrs. Fontanilla?" She put a hand over her mouth as tears start welling in her eyes. Lyken didn't know if he should shout or shake her to get a response, as she was just staring at him.
Lyken felt like fainting when she stayed quiet longer than he was expecting. He won't be able to accept it if she says no.
He sighed in relief when she nodded, but he wasn't content with her answer. Lyken wants her to say it. He wants to hear it straight from her mouth. So instead of jumping for joy, he shot his brows at her.
"Yes, Ly, I'm more than willing to be Mrs. Fontanilla," she stated.
Lyken couldn't stop hugging her when he heard her say that. Although there are other customers at the restaurant, he doesn't care.
He hugged Jada by the waist and lifted her while she bowed her head to kiss him. It felt like heaven. Like he was on cloud nine.

"Thank you, baby, thank you so much for accepting me," he said between kisses as tears streamed down his face.
"I love you, Ly. I love you, baby!"
In the middle of their hugging, they heard people clapping and cheering for them. When he lets go of Jada, her smile widens as she sees their parents and friends walking over to them. She immediately walked towards her parents and hugged them. She did the same to Lyken's mother and father.
"I'm the happiest for you Jadanela," her mother told her as she touched her hair and lightly squeezed her shoulder.
"Congratulations and welcome to the family Jada," Lyken's mother told her with a broad smile painted on her face.
"You better take care of this amazing woman Lyken," his father butted in. Lyken nodded at him without second thoughts.
"He better do that," Jada's father chimed in, clapping his back lightly while smiling.
"Congratulations Ly! Congratulations Ja!" their friends greeted.
"Bon Voyage to both of you!" Bambi exclaimed.
All attention turned to him as he happily clapped while jumping up and down.
