Chapter 47 UNEXPECTED ENEMY
“We need to talk, Lexi,” Aziz called and Lexi stopped, pivoting to look at him.
“We don’t have anything to talk about, Aziz,” she started going up the stairs again but something held her wrist.
She opened her mouth to protest but she was back on the couch she stood up from, with Aziz towering over her.
“We have to talk, Lexi, I have a lot to say to you and I need you to listen.”
“What do you want to say, Aziz? Tell me what you have to say, is it how you have a child with that woman and never told me about it, or how she was the first and last woman you are in love with?”
“I don’t have any child with her, Lexi!” He snapped.
“What?”
“It was all a setup, the child isn’t mine, she lied to break us apart,” Aziz ruffled his hair, and stared intently at Lexi. “There was no child, it was all made up.”
Lexi huffed and stared back at him. “Was your feeling for her made up too?” She asked and he fell silent. Lexi smiled weakly.
“I thought as much,” her voice sounded so weak like she was going to cry again. “You know what hurts the most? Having to find out you have a past like this from her,” she sniffed.
“I was plain and honest with you, I told you everything… absolutely all about me and you can’t be honest with me?” She snapped at him.
“It was your choice to tell me everything about yourself, I see no reason why I am mandated to tell you all about myself when this…” He gestured between them, snapping.
“All this is a one-time thing,” Lexi chuckled even though her heart is being shattered all over.
“Of course… why would I forget all the night and day of passion meant nothing to you?” She cried. “I am the stupid one… for thinking the dinners, dates, and every time you pampered me is because you care,” she turned away from him so he wouldn’t see her tears.
“I told you from the start that there should be no emotion involved… why the fuck are you angry over something that happened in the past!?
“Don’t you get it?” She yelled, the tears falling now. “I am fucking in love with you,” Aziz reared back as if he had been slapped. Lex watched as his face became void of emotion and his eyes grew darker.
“You cannot be in love with me,” he shook his head as if to clear the thought. “I told you I don’t do love,” his eyes looked hollow as if there was no life in them
“And that is another lie… you believe in love and that is why you fell in love with Lena–”
“-Stop,” Aziz yelled.
“You must have loved her so much that when she broke your heart you decided you will never open up your heart to any other ladies apart from her–”
“-Stop!”
“–You fuck around as a way to get over her, you lie to yourself that you don’t care anymore. Yet you share your body with different ladies but you can never share your heart with them… you know why?” Aziz glared at her, his expression turning deadly with each passing second. “Lena will always have that piece of you with her forever, you will only love her and no one else.
“You do love Aziz, your heart has just decided it would only be her, the first and the last,” she turned away from him then and walk into her room, leaving Aziz to stare after her.

“Do you think the kid will be alright at home alone? given the fact that they are facing such a difficult time,” Daphne asked as she cuddles closer to her husband.
“They are adults, honey, and I believe they can sort things out themselves,” Balthas kissed her head, pulling her even closer.
“I told you they are into each other,” Daphne smacked her husband’s chest and he chuckled. “Lexi is a very disobedient child, even after I told her Aziz is a no-go area, she still fell for him.”
“And you think I didn’t warn Aziz as well, but that scum refused to heed my words,” Balthas scoffed.
“Who did he take after?” Daphne craned her head to look at him and he smiled.
“The Mustafa’s men are known for capturing the hearts of beautiful women,” he kissed her lip.
“I just want them to be happy and I hope our marriage will not stop them from getting the happiness they deserved.”
“Regardless of our marriage, fate would have brought them together no matter what the circumstances,” Balthas mumbled.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“It did bring them together truly, they met each other in the club before they found out they are step siblings.”
“I can’t believe Tania will go to such length to get rid of Lexi just because she wants her daughter to marry Aziz, and to think she is my sister, my flesh and blood,” Balthas lamented.
“I have to say I am shocked by her action, what would she stand to gain if Aziz and Cora got married?”
“The Mustafa’s fortune,” Balthas answered. “She is the one who controls Cora’s life, if they should get married she would be able to control the chains of company we have.”
“Where is she?” Daphne trailed circles on Balthas’s chest with her nail.
“I already have the boys hide her away from where Aziz will find her, he will kill her if he does.”
“What about Lena and Cora?”
“Aziz and Kira brutalized her enough, I paid for her treatment since she didn’t deserve what they did to her and I promised her, her son is safe. Tania will never threaten her again and as for Cora… the police are taking care of her.”

“You mean Tania threatened Lena with the safety of her child if she didn’t destroy my relationship with Lexi?” Aziz refused to believe the words coming out of Derrick’s mouth.
“it is the truth, boss, your father found out in time because he had assigned each one of us to watch his family members and report to him, I only just found out from James. He was the one who explained everything to me,” Aziz threw his hands in the air.
“Since father has everything under control, I see no reason to stress myself,” he got up from the couch and Derrick followed suit.
“I think that is the best decision he could make… If it were left to me, I will have each part of their body cut off slowly and laugh in joy while they scream in agony.”
Derrick bid him goodbye and walked out of the house, Aziz locked the door and went into Lexi’s room. She was fast asleep like a baby.
He still couldn’t get over her words, they made his heart aches so badly. He turned around to leave when she started to cry. At first, he couldn’t make out the words she muttering, but when he got closer, he realize she was dreaming about the man that almost killed her.
Aziz sat at the edge of the bed and grabbed her flailing arm. “Wake up, Lexi, it is just a dream,” he grabbed her shoulder and shook her hard. Lexi whimpered, her body shaking as sweat covered her at once.
She grabbed onto what was shaking her and clung to it as the stranger walked toward her, brandishing a knife. She could hear someone calling her name in the far distance, but she was too scared to turn around.
A scream bubbled its way out of her and she screamed for help just as the stranger thrust the knife toward her chest.
