Chapter 540 Five Bottles Of Lafite
Chapter 540 Five Bottles Of Lafite
Chapter 540 Five Bottles of Lafite
"That's right. You deserve it, bitch!"
Several women splashed wine over Sophia's head as they cursed. The liquid dripped from her hair and
stained her dress.
Drake was watching from afar. He knew Sophia well, so he didn't think those women would win against
her. Nor did he walk over earlier. However, seeing the chaos, he strode towards them.
Rashad arrived earlier than Drake, though. He was close to them, so he quickly stood by Sophia.
"Are you all right, Sophia?"
He drew Sophia closer to him, watching her with solicitude.
"Give me a towel!"
Rashad reached out. Several towels, wet or dry, were passed to him by waiters.
Holding a dry towel, Rashad wanted to help Sophia, but she grabbed it and said, stressing each
syllable, "Mr. Witt, you are the current master of the superior Riley family. You don't need to do this." Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Help me, Drake!"
Drake stopped in mid-step when he saw Rashad stride up to Sophia.
Sophia's words, however, quickened his steps.
Sophia gazed tenderly and lovingly at Drake as the latter helped her. At that moment, everyone there
could tell Rashad was the third wheel, unlike what they had thought earlier -- Sophia had offered to hit
on him.
Drake felt sorry for his wife. He did not care what others said about him, but he could not bear that
those people insulted his wife.
"Stop it, Sophia."
Sophia looked at him in perplexity.
"Give me five bottles of Lafite."
Drake's sudden words startled the onlookers, who wondered what he wanted to do.
Even Sophia didn't know what he wanted to do next.
No waiters moved. Paul strode toward the lobby manager. "Haven't you heard Mr. Riley's words?"
The lobby manager was horrified and sent a waiter for five bottles of wine.
When they were put before Drake, he uttered without checking on them, "Open them all."
The manager whispered to Drake, "Mr. Riley, each bottle costs a fortune. Are you sure you want us to
open all of them?"
"Go ahead!"
Drake raised his voice.
The manager knew he could not afford to offend Drake.
In his opinion, however, Drake was not as influential as ever.
He thought he should be more cautious before having the wine bottles opened.
Therefore, he said solemnly, "Mr. Riley, please pay for the wine first."
It was, indeed, a disgrace.
The manager apparently implied that Drake could not afford the wine.
Drake had quit the Riley Group but still had the company shares. Even if he did not work, he was rich.
Instead of getting angry, Drake told Paul to wire two million dollars to the restaurant's bank account.
He asked, "Enough?"
"Yes. It's enough, Mr. Riley."
Although a bottle of Lafite was costly, two million dollars could buy more than five bottles.
All the onlookers could tell was that Drake was the same rich, arrogant man he had always been.
"Open them all!"
The wine bottles were all open.
Drake called, "Paul, Aria, come over!"
Although the two did not know what Drake planned to do, Aria somehow became excited.
"What do you want me to do, Drake?"
"Take the wine and pour it on their heads."
In amazement, Aria could not wait to do it.
The woman who had bullied Sophia winced. "What are you doing, Mr. Riley?"
"You'll still think I'm a pushover if I don't do something today."
"Go ahead, Aria!"
"No problem."
Drake picked up one bottle and passed it to Sophia.
Among the four women, Drake poured two bottles of wine over two of them. Aria and Sophia did the
same to the other two, respectively.
The women tried to dodge. For some reason, however, Drake's ghastly gaze prevented them from
doing so.
All, therefore, were splashed with wine.
Those women's husbands strode up. "You've gone too far, Mr. Riley!"
"Think we are blind?"
"Mr. Riley, you..."
They broke off and paused under Drake's deadly gaze, and began to wonder if they should offend
Drake.
Subconsciously they looked over at Rashad, who was gazing thoughtfully at Drake.
Sophia felt much better after she had poured out the wine.
"Sophia, it stinks here. Let's get out for some fresh air, shall we?"
"Sure."
Sophia, at any rate, had done what she intended to do, and was in no mood to remain at the banquet.
Aria followed them. "I'll go with you, Drake."
So did Paul.
Bystanders exchanged glances.
The women soaked in the wine had never been embarrassed like this before. They nearly broke down.
"Argh! Argh!"
"Shit!"
As she left the hall, Aria grew more and more delighted. "Well done, Drake. Earlier, I thought you were
scared of them after stepping down."
Paul glanced at her. "It's obvious they were all instigated by someone."
"Instigated?" Aria seemed to understand something. "You mean someone instigated them to humiliate
Drake in public?"
"Yep."
Aria burst into anger. "Who is the manipulator? Why does the person want to trample on Drake?"
Sophia blurted out, "Rashad, of course. No one else would ever do that."
Aria was puzzled. "He returned to the Riley family to steal everything from us. He has achieved his
goal. Why did he do so?"
"I don't understand why he did so, but he seems to know something."
Earlier, Sophia wondered if Rashad hated Drake for another reason. However, she failed to figure it out
and guessed there must be something she didn't know.
Aria was simple-minded. "Drake, what on earth is it? Do you know?" she asked bluntly.
Paul looked at Drake. Sophia's words enlightened him. He wondered if Rashad had known Drake was
the King of the Underworld and did so to force Drake to disclose his identity.
Drake thought it over. "How would I know what he had known? He's nuts, so he always targets me."
"I agree. He is jealous of you. Drake, how about we take back all the Riley family property from
Rashad? I can't help feeling furious whenever I see his complacent face!"
"Since it's Grandpa's decision to let Rashad inherit all his properties, we should respect him."
Aria was enraged by his words.
"What's wrong with you, Drake? Do you not think there is something fishy about the will? Is Grandpa
too old to tell what kind of man Rashad is?"
