Chapter 1577: Unfair Treatment

Osvaldo's gaze landed on Stanley, who was standing on the steps. There was a hint of coldness in his

eyes, but his tone was gentle as he asked, "Mr. Soo visited the Turner family yesterday... for what

reason?"

Stanley smiled and replied, "I just wanted to thank them for taking care of Selena while she was away

from the Empire."

Osvaldo met Stanley's eyes and smirked. "Selena is my wife. If anyone should be thanking them, it

should be me. Your actions are overstepping."

Stanley maintained his elegant smile and said, "Selena grew up with me since childhood. The bond

between us cannot be replaced by anyone else. Besides..."

The young man took a step forward and looked directly into Osvaldo's eyes.

"Selena is innocent by nature and hates deception... if she finds out that someone has deceived her,

she will surely be heartbroken," Stanley threatened.

Just like how Osvaldo had threatened him before.

Osvaldo laughed coldly and retorted, "But I am not just anyone to Selena."

Stanley seemed to have anticipated what he would say next as his eyes began to turn cold.

"Because..." Osvaldo revealed a cruel smile as he spoke in an icy tone,

"She loves me."

In an instant, Stanley's smile disappeared completely as he stared at Osvaldo with icy-cold eyes.

No matter whether Mr. Soo admitted it or not - Selena had fallen in love with him; this fact could not be

changed," Osvaldo continued confidently,

"A girl like Selena will love only one person for her entire life."

"Selena will always be my wife."

The ice in Stanley's gaze intensified as he reminded Osvald about how he had mistreated Selena

before:

"Mr. Anderson seems to have forgotten that you were once responsible for causing pain to Selena

because of certain people or things."

"She likes you, so she is willing to understand and tolerate you. But that cannot be a reason for you to

mistreat her and hurt her at will. You even made her vomit blood and broke her heart!" The smile on

Osvaldo's face disappeared. No matter what, the fact remained that he had caused Selena to suffer

both physically and emotionally.

And yet, he couldn't bear the thought of using Selena's death as a way to provoke Stanley. Because it

was his own failure and pain as well.

Finally, Osvaldo glanced at Stanley before turning around and walking towards where Selena was

waiting in the car.

Watching him leave, Stanley slowly lowered his eyelids.

Selena sat bored in the car, wondering what the two men could possibly be talking about. They didn't

even know each other before this encounter - why would they have anything specific to discuss?

Could it have something to do with her? It was certainly possible...

As she pondered this possibility, someone suddenly opened the car door from outside.

Looking up, Selena saw Osvaldo standing there with an inexplicably pale expression on his face.

Startled by his sudden appearance, she asked instinctively: "What's wrong?" Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

Osvaldo gazed deeply into her eyes for several seconds before suddenly reaching out and pulling her

into his arms.

Selena lay on the man's chest, listening to his heartbeat that was different from usual. She felt a little

confused and raised her hand to touch his face. "What happened?" she asked.

Osvaldo's emotions were... unusual.

He looked down at the little girl in his arms, her dark eyes clear and reflecting his figure. Her gaze was

one of complete trust.

Suddenly, Osvaldo lowered his head and kissed her lips.

After entangling for a long time, the man finally straightened up and whispered in Selena's ear with a

hoarse voice, "I'm sorry, Selena..."

He had hurt her before.

And he had also made her suffer because of Mr. Anderson.

Selena looked puzzled. She didn't know why Osvaldo suddenly apologized to her without reason but

she could sense that he seemed upset about something.

"You only need to apologize if you've done something wrong," Selena obediently lay in the man's arms

and poked at his Adam's apple with delicate fingers. "Did you do something bad today behind my

back?"

Her dark eyes rolled around as she bit her red lips slightly. "Are you seeing other girls behind my

back?"

Osvaldo looked at her lively expression and rubbed the top of her head while speaking in a low voice,"I

have such a good wife like Selena, how could I be interested in other women?"

Selena smiled when she heard him praise herself,"Okay then as long as you don't see other girls

behind my back I'll forgive everything else."

She was really a very generous girlfriend.

Osvaldo got into the car and placed the little girl on his lap. He lifted his hand to embrace her slender

back, gently stroking her hair. His gaze was deep as he spoke, "I used to sacrifice Selena for my

grandfather and Dante. Does Selena not get angry?"

Selena blinked and looked at Osvaldo's disappointed expression, instantly guessing where his unusual

mood came from.

She leaned over and kissed his chin, smiling as she asked, "Did Stanley bother you?"

Stanley had been in the capital for a few days now. He must have already investigated what happened

to her before.

He grew up with her.

If she suffered any grievances, Stanley would definitely be angry and naturally want to help her find

justice against her boyfriend.

Selena realized the truth herself as she looked at Osvaldo's cold expression. She smiled and said,

"That was your grandfather and brother's business. I wasn't hurt so there is no reason for me to be

angry."

"Besides..." Selena's snow-white fingers slowly brushed over his eyebrows as she continued speaking

softly,"You didn't actually wrong me by not seeking revenge for me; I'm even less likely to be angry."

Selena was truly a girl who could empathize with others' positions best.

She knew that she had low emotional intelligence and hadn't dated anyone before. So whenever it

came down to anything related to Osvaldo, she subconsciously put herself in the other person's shoes

out of fear of hurting them instead.

"If it were me," Selena rubbed Osvaldo's eyebrows lightly,"I wouldn't have been able to do it either; one

hit could've given an old man a heart attack." As for Dante..."

As Selena spoke these words with laughter in between them,"I know you just want me... to take

matters into my own hands against Constance."

As long as she opened up about wanting Constance dealt with by Osvaldo himself because of Dante

then he would never let Constance go easily.

"Dante once saved your life," Selena said with a sweet smile, her lips curved in red. "Without him, it

would have been you who was hurt. That's why I was willing to give Constance a way out."

Osvaldo listened quietly as Selena spoke about him, his eyes extremely dark. "Don't be so

understanding in the future."

He kissed her hair. "You are my wife and should be my first priority in my heart."

"I made you suffer for them, no matter what the reason is, it's all my fault."
