Chapter 38
I made a move to go after my friend, but Ivy held me back. "We have to fix your face," she said and I totally agreed with her.
My date with the Alpha was going to start soon and I had large boil-like rashes all over my face.
She suggested adding more make up to my face and I agreed.
I brought out my phone to send Janice a message at least, but I had to drop my phone when Ivy started my makeup.
It did not turn out well and after several trials, I decided that the best thing to do was to call Alpha Leo and cancel our date.
I took a picture of my face and sent it to him. I apologized to him for canceling our date too.
"I am so sorry things turned out this way," Ivy said and then she pointed to the couch. The same couch Alpha Leo sleeps on. "Can I sit?"
I hesitated for a few seconds, and then smiled and nodded. "Yes, you can sit."
She flashed me a smile and then took a seat. "I hope Alpha Leo won't get too angry at you for canceling the date."
"I feel he won't." I did not feel comfortable talking about Alpha Leo with Ivy, but I did so anyway.
Ivy smiled. "Of course, he won't. He can be mean to most people, but trust me, he knows how to treat his she-wolf well. I'm sure he has introduced you to his parents."
"His parents?" I was becoming uncomfortable, but I feigned a smile and nodded. "Yes, he has."
"His parents sharing a tombstone is beautiful, isn't it?" She smiled and added. "Helia and Vlad Salvatore, a love that lasted a lifetime."
I froze.
How did she know the inscription on the tombstone? I thought I was the only one Alpha Leo had ever taken to see his parents' tombstone.

I decided to relax. Maybe she has gone there herself before. "Have you seen the tombstone?"
"Oh yes! Alpha Leo used to take me whenever he goes to see it."
My heart sank. "He told me he visits the tombstone alone."
"He did?" Ivy looked hurt and then she smiled. I guessed she did so to cover up the hurt that was clearly written on her face. "Maybe he forgot. He moves on pretty fast. One minute, he is all over you and the next, he has forgotten about you. I don't know if you know what I mean. If you don't, I'll tell you something about Alpha Leo's childhood his brother once told me about. Whenever he gets a new toy, he shows it off and treats it like his life depends on it. After a while, he gets bored, tosses the toy away and gets a new one."
My face turned white. Why was she telling me this? To warn me? Or was I reading too much into her words? "I-I think I understand." Of course, I did. It was exactly what I was afraid of.
Ivy's face fell. "Just forget I said the things I did. It's not very good to say the things I just told you to your ex's current mate."
Ex? The only ex I knew of was Ama and she was dead.
I overlooked her words anyway and decided to reassure her. "I'm a very free person. I like honest people."
She grinned. "Well that makes the both of us. What do you think of the secret room at the far end of this wing, though?" Chapter 38
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What secret room?"
"If you see it, you will know it. It had a green door. The very last room in this wing of Alpha Leo's mansion." She studied my face. Seeing that I had no clue of what she was talking about, she gasped. "You don't know? Oops." She quickly draped her hands over her mouth. "Forget I said anything about a secret room. He showed me. He showed Ama too. I thought he showed you the room too."
"Oh," I managed to say. I was stupid for thinking that the Alpha and I shared something beyond the contract I signed with him.
I was just another toy to him.
Something he would toss away when he gets bored.
My phone beeped.
It was a message from Alpha Leo and my face lit up when tread the message.
"You're finally smiling." Ivy grinned. "Please, share the good news."
"My date with the Alpha will still hold. We will have the date in this room."
"Oh my goddess. I see an intense date." Ivy giggled and I blushed.
"I should take my leave before he comes," Ivy added and I nodded in agreement.
Alpha Leo meeting Ivy in our room after how she barged in on us the other day was a bad idea, so I bade her goodbye.
About thirty minutes after Ivy left, Alpha Leo walked in. When he was sure I was ready for our date, a group of wolves brought in a fancy table, two chairs, wine and food. In about another thirty minutes, everything was ready.
There were balloons, petals of flowers, wine and good food. Soft music was played in the background too.
Alpha Leo had brought the date to our room.
When it was just the both of us in the room, he took my hands in his and brought me closer to himself.
"Let's dance," He said, flashing a set of white teeth.
I smiled back, but I was still hesitant. He must have danced with Ivy and Ama several times before. What if I was not as good as any of them?
"I can't dance. I have two left feet," I said and he grinned.
"That's perfect, because I have two right feet." He brought me closer to himself. He swayed his body to the rhythm of the music playing and took me along with him.
His arms were wrapped around my waist and mine around his neck. Our eyes locked.
I quickly brought my face down.
The rashes on my face fueled my insecurities. I was scared he would feel I was too ugly with the amount of rashes on my
face.
"Why did you look away?" He asked softly.
"My rashes are too ugly." I decided to go with the truth.
His hands left my waist and with those hands, he brought my face up so we could look at each other. Then, he returned his
hands to my waist.
He flashed me another beautiful smile of his.
"Beautiful," he said. "Young she-wolf, you're beautiful."
Young she-wolf was a weird hickname, but he had a way of making it sound beautiful. At that moment, I forgot everything. I forgot about Ivy's words. I forgot about my past experiences with Sebastian. The only thing on my mind was this moment I was sharing with Alpha Leo and how much longer I wanted the moment to
last.
"See, we make a beautiful pair and you dance well too." He smiled smugly. "Of course, that's because I am your dance partner."
I gave him a disapproving look.
He chuckled and added. "I dance well too and that's only because you're my dance partner."
I chuckled too.
"I wish the time would stop," I thought out loud.
"Me too, Alpha Leo said and my face turned red.
I shifted my gaze from his face. "You were not supposed to hear that."
"Well, I heard it and now I want to know if it's only your face that is the only part blushing or if your body is too."
I quickly looked up at his face and our eyes locked.
He leaned closer and I did the same.
I smiled.
This was it.
Nothing could stop us. Not even my insecurities, because they were no longer there. I could only think of the Alpha before
1. me.
Well, accept a phone call.
My phone rang out.
"F*ck," Alpha Leo cursed under his breath. "Ignore the call."This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
I pulled away from him. "What if it is an emergency?"
He let out a frustrated grunt before finally letting me go.
I was right about the call being an emergency.
Ivy had gotten into an accident.
