CHAPTER 20

Damien stared at Aurora’s feet, his thoughts racing.

Those scars seemed relatively old.

So maybe she got it when she was caught by those rogues?

Yes, that must be it…

Damien’s line of thinking was interrupted by Chloe’s wailing the next second.

“W-Why are you all pressuring me? I can’t take this kind of humiliation anymore…Damien, say something! Tell them to leave me alone!” Chloe shook Damien’s arm and sobbed.

Damien took a deep breath and looked back at her.

“You clearly aren’t feeling well,” Damien said c**lly and stood up. “You should head back to the hotel.”This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

Chloe bit her lips with tears forming in here eyes, “But…but how? I twisted my ankle earlier and was almost drown to death just a minute ago. I can’t walk back by myself. Unless…”

She carefully stole a peek at Lance.

“…Unless Alpha Lance is willing to deploy a helicopter for me?” Chloe said weakly. “We have one of those back in Silver Blade Pack. Damien always has one on stand-by in case I am tired of walking.”

Lance let out a light snort.

“Yes. We have a helicopter,” He said with an eyeroll. “But here in Ever Moon Pack, helicopters are only used for delivering corpse.”

A brighter smile appeared on Lance’s face as he asked:

“Do you want to squeeze in with the dead Miss Chloe?”

Chloe’s face turned pale instantly, “No…thank you…”

“That is enough.” Damien frowned as though he couldn’t bear with Chloe’s nonsense anymore, “I am taking you home.”

He stretched his body a little bit.

And then he shifted.

A gigantic black wolf appeared in front of everyone’s eyes.

Lance narrowed his eyes slightly on Damien’s wolf. He could now see how Damien became a world’s top Alpha,

This wolf alone was intimidating to look at

Chloe revealed a gleeful smile and quickly climbed onto the wolf’s back. She hugged the wolf’s back and buried her face into its soft fur.

“I know you still care about me, Damien.” She said softly.

Letting out a long howl, the wolf lunged forward and dashed into the forest. With its top speed, they should be back in the hotel within an hour.

Aurora stared at them as they traveled away.

A bitter feeling seized her heart.

When she was still Damien’s Luna, she once asked him if she could ride on his back.

But Damien refused her firmly, telling her that no Alpha would allow people to ride on their back, which was considered a huge humiliation.

Yet now. He was making this exception for Chloe.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, Aurora turned around with a bright smile and said to the rest of the group:

“So…shall we go diving again now?”

That day they ended up having a blast.

The four of them dived so many times till they got tired. Lance and Jared caught some fishes in the lake and th built a camp fire to grill.

They didn’t head back home until sunset.

After the day of the hiking trip, Aurora focused entirely on pack businesses.

There was about a week left before they headed down to Silver Blade Pack. As the G**a, she had to work ou the list of soldiers who were going to the training and the plan of how to get there.

Rivena was going with her. And so was Lance. He would go and nail down the training plan with other Alphas

injustice.

Crust and injustice?

Aurora almost laughed out.

She could say the same thing about Chloe and her dear “family” when they left her to the rogues.

That lying little **h! She was totally faking it! Her ankles were fine!” Rivena cried furiously.

Aurora raised a hand, “OK. Let’s calm down here. I have an idea how to deal with this.”

She whispered something into Lance and Rivena’s ears. They both grinned and nodded.

The party started moments later.

As the Alpha, Lance came up to the stage and made a farewell speech.

He first thanked everyone for attending the annual pack’s meeting this year. Then he went on and said:

“…I believe that the many of you have explored our natural sceneries during the past week. But here is a little tip for those of you who are physically incapable or emotionally fragile, please refrain yourself from dangerous sites like the Great Waterfall. There is no need to seek your own trouble.”

There were some low chuckles downstage. People knew who Lance was referring to. They were all peeking at Chloe, whose face was red with anger.

“And of course…”

Lance continued with a smile.

“If you injured yourself during the trip, we could arrange helicopters to escort you back. But you have to be examined by a doctor before you board the helicopter. Nevertheless, we can’t waste public resources on peopl who like to fake their injuries to get other’s attention.”

An uproar of laughter broke up in the room.

Aurora was smiling in the crowd.

This should be a powerful enough to strike back to Chloe’s fabricated story.

She used to quietly endure Chloe’s every lie because she didn’t have any means to fight back.

But she was not the old Aurora anymore.

She wouldn’t allow a single person to **t on her head now.

“Aurora.”

A voice came from her back.

She looked around and found it was Damien.

“What is the matter?” she asked with a sarcastic smile, “Are you here to accuse me of being cruel and injustice as well?”

“No.”

Damien stepped forward, locking eyes with her.

“We are heading back home tomorrow,” his voice deep and h**e. “I just want to know how you feel about this.”

“Home?” Aurora giggled lowly. “No. It is not my home. And it never will be.”

Aurora turned her back on Damien and walked away in long strides.

A cold smile appeared on her lips.

Her dear “parents” Mr. and Mrs. Ravenwood…her brothers Josh and Olive…Her former maid Jenny…

All those people who had bullied and wronged her in the past.

She was coming back for them now.
