Chapter 27
Chapter 27
On this hazy night, Xosa’s most luxurious nightclub–Septem Nightclub–was buzzing with activity. Juliet’s face was flushed as she sat drunkenly, feeling light and floaty. She dazedly wondered where Mikayla had gone. The others, however, hoped Mikayla wouldn’t come back, as she was harder to deal with.
Lily shot a look at Priscilla, who immediately caught on. She leaned toward Walter shyly and whispered, “Walter, how about I give you something big?”
Walter raised an eyebrow and followed Priscilla’s gaze to the flushed Juliet. Catching Priscilla’s drift, Walter turned and smiled maliciously at Jerome. “Sharing” was always a pleasure among the wealthy.
Priscilla picked up a bottle of tequila and walked toward Juliet, her eyes gleaming with malice. Sometimes, to get a man to bow down, one needs to know what he desires. Rather than letting him think Juliet is unattainable, it’s better to let him have his fill and then discard her… Every time I tried to get back at Jullet before, Mikayla stopped me. Let’s see if she can stop me this time!’ she thought.
Just then, Jaclyn Turner, one of Priscilla’s close friends, rushed in and whispered in her ear, “I just saw Mikayla leave with a man. Jaclyn hadn’t gotten a clear look but could tell it was a man.
Priscilla’s smirk grew even more vicious as she looked at Juliet with a touch of pity. ‘Luck is on my side today! Imagine Mikayla leaving you here to hook up with a man. Will you turn against her when you realize what happened? I can’t wait to find out! she thought gleefully. “Did you get a picture?” she asked Jaclyn.
“It was too dark to take one,” Jaclyn pouted, waving her phone. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“What a pity!” mocked Priscilla as she thought, ‘Otherwise, I could ruin Mikayla’s reputation, too!” She got close to Juliet and smiled attentively. “Are you up for another round, Juliet”
“Come on, she’s had enough. Look at her, she’s plastered! snickered Lily as she walked over and played along with Priscilla. Juliet had a bad habit of drinking more whenever she felt challenged. Priscilla knew Juliet hadn’t outgrown this since high school
Juliet eyed the full glass and slurred, “Who said I was drunk?” She downed the drink, feeling her stomach burn as the alcohol hit “Where’s Mikayla? I’m gonna find her, she mumbled, trying to stand up.
Priscilla and Lily weren’t about to let her leave. “Juliet, let’s have a toast. We haven’t had a drink together yet, gushed Jaclyn, raising her glass. After downing her drink, Jaclyn showed Juliet her empty glass.
Seeing Jaclyn’s gutsy move, Juliet felt compelled to do the same. She downed another drink and showed her empty glass. “I’m done. I’m gonna find Mikayla.” She pushed past Priscilla and Lily, staggering to the door, only to bump into a muscled chest.
“Are you Juliet?” asked the man.
Juliet looked up and shivered as she saw the deep, icy eyes staring down at her. “D–Do I know you?” she mumbled.
“Who the hell are you? How can you enter someone else’s private room!” yelled Jerome angrily. He had been fantasizing about having his way with Juliet and was annoyed at the interruption.
The service on Septem Nightclub’s top floor was different from the rest. A press of a bell brought an attendant in seconds, granting customers complete privacy. Of course, the top–level services were
even better, attracting people from all over. The man glanced at Jerome pressing the bell and said coldly, “No need. Your bill’s covered tonight, so leave now.”
Only then did Walter notice that the man was Elvis, the owner of Septem Nightclub and Xosa’s underworld boss.
Noticing Elvis‘ displeasure, Walter motioned to the others. “Let’s go!” He knew Elvis‘ power and didn’t want to mess with
him. Walter’s family had been trying to connect with Elvis to gain some influence and avoid being crushed by competitors. He hadn’t expected to meet Elvis at such a time.
“Let’s grab a drink sometime,” Walter suggested, trying to leave a good impression before closing the door.
As the door closed, someone snapped a photo of Juliet leaning against Elvis‘ chest. ‘Even if she wasn’t taken advantage of by someone else, this will do. No man stays unmoved when a drunk woman falls into his lap!‘
