Chapter 309
Chapter 309
I bought some food and then headed back to the hospital.
My mom had just woken up, and it seemed like she’d need to stay in the hospital a few more days. So that means I had to frequent the hospital these days.
To avoid running into Russel again, I decided to switch my mom to a different hospital pronto.
“Where’s your dad?” After moving to the other hospital, my mom finally asked me, “Why haven’t you told him I’m awake?”
My heart sank a little hearing that question.
“Mom, dad’s been a bit tied up these days, but he’ll be back soon, I managed to force a smile and fobbed her off.
Though I’d have to tell her about my dad sooner or later, she had just recovered and was still so weak, I didn’t want to upset her.
Quickly, I tucked her in tightly and comforted her, “If dad saw you like this, he’d be heartbroken. Give it a few days, when you look better, he should be done with his stuff.”
My mom closed her eyes tiredly and then sighed softly, “Hmm, your dad must be worried about me. He’s retired now, why’s he still so busy?”
*Exactly because he’s retired, he’s been invited by his old friends for traveling, to relax a bit.” I tried to picture my dad taking a vacation.
My mom finally smiled, ‘That’s
good, he’s been working all the time, now he should relax a bit.”
We chatted in the ward, these days I planned to stay in the hospital until she was discharged.
During this time, I didn’t care about anything happening outside, only Stella would fill me in on some stuff.
“This grapefruit is really sweet, try some!” Stella was peeling the grapefruit, feeding my mom.
In front of my mom, our conversations were very cautious, we absolutely avoided mentioning my dad and Neil.
“Hmm, it’s really sweet, thanks, Stella.” My mom was recovering pretty well these days, but she had some heart issues, so even after getting discharged, she’d need to be extra careful.
“As long as you like it,” Stella said with a smile, ‘I’ve been having some backaches recently, Rena, accompany me for a check-up, will ya?’
Hearing Stella was not well, my mom instantly told me to go with her for a check-up, I nodded.
Stella surely had something to tell me, that’s why she used this excuse.
As expected, not long after we left the ward, Stellas tone changed, she said angrily. “Oh my god, that jerk Neil, he’s really with Bonnie now!”
Upon hearing this news, I wasn’t shocked, when I moved out from Sterling Estates, I had anticipated this outcome.
“That’s fine.” I walked into the elevator, answering indifferently.
“Rena, you’re not mad? Before he tried getting back together with you, and now that you’ve moved back to Sterling Estates, he went to Bonnie, what a scumbag!” Stella started rolling up her sleeves, “I
wanna slap him right now!”
I held her hand tightly, “Please stay calm, don’t bother with them.”
Stella let out a deep sigh, “I can ignore them, but I think you’re upset. If your mom knew about all these things that happened recently…” “She must not know, I didn’t even get her a phone.” I cut Stella off, ‘Once she’s discharged, I’ll take her back to Sapphire River Community, won’t let anyone blabber in front of her!
Stella looked at me for a few seconds, then helplessly shook her head.
After the chat, Stella left, while I was ready to return to the ward.
When entering the elevator, a man came out, he seemned familiar at the passing glance, and he looked at me a second longer.
It was Ethan!
After the man left, my heart raced in the elevator, I actually ran into him here?
Ethan wouldn’t normally appear in Rosemont, his appearance now must be due to Gloria and Bonnie.
Why was he in the hospital?
I quickly rushed to my mom’s ward, seeing her safe and sound, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
My mom had fallen asleep, I sat there working alone, the company had started the new year’s work, and it was a ton.
The company recently received a big order, it was the one Gloria and Bonnie had mentioned to me before, the client surprisingly came to my company again.

I was investigating the client company, hesitating whether to take the order, StarGlow Enterprises couldn’t accept, but my family’s company could barely handle it.
My phone beeped, it was a message from Neil, after reading it, I had an idea.
Seems like I needed to make a trip to the company.
To my surprise, as soon as I stepped out of the hospital, I saw Bonnie.
She got out of the car, holding a basket of fruits, looked like she was here to visit a patient.
Seeing me, Bonnie immediately came over, all smiles, looking quite pleased with herself, “Irene, good thing I came, Neil told me not to, but I think your mom waking up is good news, I had to visit her.”
“Don’t you dare get close to my mom?” I blocked Bonnie’s way, asking coldly.
“Irene, what are you talking about? I’m just being polite… Bonnie answered with a victimized look. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
“I don’t care what your intentions are, I’m warning you, if you let my mom know about things she shouldn’t, then your past scandals, I might spill them to Neil.” I glared at Bonnie coldly.
Bonnie was stunned, a trace of confusion flashed across her face, she seemed to not understand what I meant for the moment.
After a few seconds, she asked in confusion, “Irene, what do I have to hide from Neil?”
Everyone already knew about what happened before, Bonnie must think there’s nothing else that could affect her anymore.
I curled my lips sarcastically, “Like how you got with Oscar before you even broke up with your high school, boyfriend, isn’t that unfaithful?”
“You… you’re talking nonsense!” Bonnie’s face instantly changed, she seemed quite worried about this issue.
“You know damn well I’m telling the truth. Neil might not care about your past screw-ups, considering you’ve got a laundry list of them. But what about his parents?” I mentioned Neil’s parents, which could definitely put the screws on Bonnie.
At the mention of Neil’s parents, Bonnie’s face turned sour in an instant. Did she think just getting back with Neil was a win?
Neil’s parents were a massive roadblock. Karina Aaron couldn’t get into the Whitmore family, and Bonnie was no different.
“It was Hannah who spilled the beans, wasn’t it?” Bonnie was livid, tossing the fruit basket onto the floor, “Irene Finch, if you stick your nose in my business with Neil one more time, you’re gonna pay a hefty price!”
