ORTEGA: THE ALPHA’S HUMAN MATE

Chapter 9: Banished Once Again

Ortega’s heart started racing fast as Merrick continued leaning closer and closer to her.

‘Is he going to kiss me?” She thought to herself.

Merrick moved more closer and placed his hand on the wall beside her, staring at her face.

Ortega lost her breathe, the way he was staring at her made her feel so hot, she was also staring at him while trying to compose herself.

Merrick stared at her cherry lips which were calling onto him to kiss them. He ran his tongue over his dry lips and moved more closer to her, their eyes in contact with each other.

‘What is he doing? Is he really gonna kiss me?’ Ortega thought but then, Merrick leaned more closer and his lips almost touched her own when suddenly….

“Lord Merrick, you have a visitor!” Agatha’s voice came from outside and Ortega’s’s eyes widened.

Merrick immediately shifted back and cleared his throat nervously.

“Ummm…. I’ll be leaving now.” He said, rising to his feet. “Take care of yourself Ortega.”

“I will. And thanks again from rescuing me last night.” Ortega replied with a nervous smile.

“It’s alright. Bye for now.” Merrick said before walking out of the clinic.

Immediately Merrick walked out, Agatha walked in and went straight to sit beside Ortega.

“Did something happen between the both of you?” Agatha asked, giving Ortega a suspicious look.

“No… no… nothing happened. Nothing happened between us.” Ortega replied with a nervous smile.

“You know I can read your mind and find out if you’re lying to me, but I don’t wanna do that ’cause it’d be like I’m intruding your privacy. So, tell me what really happened between you and Lord Merrick.” Amelia said.

Ortega let out a dejected sigh and she finally gave in.

“Fine, something awkward between Lord Merrick and I.”

“What happened?” Agatha asked with cautious curiousity.

“We almost kissed.” Ortega replied, and Agatha’s eyes went wide with shock.

“Are you fucking serious?!” She exclaimed.

“Yeah, we almost kissed but we didn’t kiss.” Ortega replied, and Agatha heaved a relieved breathe.

“Do you like him?” Ortega asked.

“No… No… I don’t like him at all.” Agatha replied almost quickly and she looked away to hide the blush on her cheeks.

Ortega chuckled softly.

“I know you like him. You’re even blushing.” She teased.

“I don’t not like him, Ortega. I love him so much.” Agatha whispered.

“Have you told him how you feel about him?” Ortega asked, and Agatha shook her head.

“No. I become nervous whenever I want to confess my feelings, and I end up saying something else.” She replied.

“You should tell him how you feel about him before someone else captures his heart.” Oretga said.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Agatha was about to speak when they heard a knock at the door.

“Who’s there?” Agatha asked.

“It’s Ramos.” Ramos replied from outside the clinic, and fear gripped Ortega.

“Come in.” Agatha stated.

The door opened and Ramos walked in dressed in a black tailored suit with a dark shade on his face.

“What brings you here, Ramos?” Agatha asked.

“The alpha sent me to bring the human over to his chamber.” Ramos replied, and Marisa’s face went pale.

Her heart started beating very fast and her breathes became shaky when she remembered how alpha Derrick almost killed her.

“Ortega, you should go now. The alpha calls for you.” Agatha said, but Ortega shook her head in disagreement.

“No, please let me stay here with you. I don’t wanna go and meet him.” Tears welled up in her eyes as she begged Agatha.

“It’s an order from the Alpha, Ortega, and it can’t be disobeyed. You have to go.” Agatha insisted.

“No, he’ll kill me if I go.” Ortega replied, and tears rolled down her cheeks.

Agatha sighed out softly and moved closer to Ortega, then she wiped her tears with her fingers.

“Alpha Derrick won’t kill you Ortega. You committed no offence, so be rest assured that he won’t kill you neither will he injure you.” She said in a soft voice.

“But what if he banishes me or punishes me for the offence I committed last night, huh?” Ortega asked.

“Alpha Derrick would never do that. No human has been banished from this kingdom, so you have nothing to worry about.” Agatha replied.

“Are you sure?” Ortega asked.

“Yes, I’m sure. Alpha Derrick won’t hurt you for no reason.” Agatha replied with an assuring smile.

Ortega swallowed hard and she got down from the bed.

“Wear these.” Agatha gave her a pair of brown sandals which she slowly wore.

“Let’s go.” Ramos said and walked out of the room while Ortega followed him from behind.

‘Please God, don’t let the alpha king kill me. Don’t let him banish me either.” Ortega silently prayed as they walked to Alpha Derrick’s chamber.
