Chapter 325
Chapter 325
“I’m so sorry,” Clara said, “Vanny’s never like this usually. He seems to like you very much.”
“It’s okay,” Serenity assured her before picking the boy up in her arms. “I like him very much too.”
The boy did not struggle when Serenity picked him up. Instead, he happily went along with it and even smiled at her when he was in her arms. But that smile was a mixture of timidness and admiration, which made her feel inexplicably sad.
She tousled his hair and said to him, “Hello, Yanny!”
But the little boy could not hear her, so he had no idea what she was saying to him. All he did was look up at her with eyes full
of curiosity
Clara, who had been watching her son interacting with Serenity from the side, suddenly looked gloomy as a look of heartache flashed across her eyes.
Did Yanny regard Serenity as that person? Perhaps that was why he liked her so much… It was a pity that… they could never mert that person anymore.
Serenity turned to Clara and asked her, “Can you teach me sign language, Clare? I want to be able to communicate with Yanny.
“Sure,” replied Clara, coming back to her senses, “no problem.”
Serenity went on to play with the boy for a little longer, but because she did not know sign language, their interaction did not go very smoothly, and they needed Clara to be there to help them communicate
with sign language.
By noon, Serenity began to do the deliveries for the restaurant. She had taken the time to practice riding the scooter earlier, and it had gone very well. It was just like riding a bicycle. Once you learned how to do it, you’d be able to pick up the skill again no matter how long you stopped doing it.
Nevertheless, she made sure to be very careful and ride the scooter as slowly as she could to let herself get used to it.
There were a lot more deliveries to do around noon. By half past one, the restaurant started to get fewer takeaway orders, but Serenity was kept very busy till around two in the afternoon when she was finally able to have her lunch.
“Are you tired?” Clara asked. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“Not too bad,” Serenity smiled. She desperately needed to earn money now, so she had no time to mind the workload.
“It can get pretty busy here,” said Clara, “so you might not have time to get lunch until pretty late in the afternoon.”
In fact, just like Serenity, Clara would often wait till she had some free time to grab a bite of food as well.
“By the way.” Serenity turned to the little boy who was eating fruits beside her and asked, “How old is Yanny? Shouldn’t he be in kindergarten?”
Clara smiled wryly and replied, “He was supposed to be in kindergarten this year, but since he’s dead, most kindergartens won’t accept him. There are special education kindergartens, of course, but the
tuition fees are expensive. Besides, Yanny needs to be equipped with a hearing aid, and he needs to be accompanied by a parent in kindergarten. I’m always busy working, so that’s just not possible.”
‘So, Yanny hasn’t been equipped with a bearing and yet?” Serenity asked, only now realizing that she had never seen a hearing aid in Yanny’s ear.
“I’m saving up for it,” Clara responded. The question seemed to fill her with new hope, and her face shone brightly with motherly love as she gently looked at her son and said, “In two or three months, we’ll be able to get him a bearing aid. By then, Yanny will be able to licar, and he’ll start to learn how to speak.”
Serenity could tell how much Clara loved Yanny. Although Clara owned the restaurant, she was dressed in cheap påld clothes and woreno jewelry. Even her hair was tied up in a simple ponytail without much care or thought.
