"Is there a problem?" That rich but cold familiar voice hit them.

He was behind her. Sylvie shivered a little but didn't turn in a hurry needed to get rid of the tears on her face.

as she

"Ah! Of course, not," Lancelot chuckled, withdrawing his hand from her hair.

"Your wife and I were just talking. Ex-wife, actually. Told you we had unfinished business."

Sylvie's brows furrowed in surprise as she looked at him. What the hell!? What did he say to Kage?

Her face cleaned up, she turned to Kage who had his hands in his short pockets. His gaze lingered on her, as hers did on him.

Saying nothing, she grabbed her luggage and walked away.

Kage went after her, catching up with her ont the staircase.

"Hey. What is going on between you two?" He stopped her and asked.

"Nothing you should concern yourself with, she rolled her eyes,

She tried to move, but be got in her way.

Tm serious," he insisted.

Sylvie scoffed. "Now, why do you care?"

"I don't. I just hate it when I'm kept in the dark in my house,

It isn't exactly your house. Your family lives here Sylvie had almost blurted out, then she remembered his grandfather had also willed the mansion to him.

So, Kage could chose to send everyone out if he wanted. He was the legal owner.

She sighed. "Just get out of the way, Kage. I'm not in the mood for this."

She tried moving again, but he didn't bulge. Then, her anger rose as she looked at the staircase.

"The last time we were on a staircase, it didn't end so well, Kage. You might not have remembered what happened on Ninth August, but six weeks ago isn't too far behind to forget, is it?" Kage's countenance dropped. A few seconds passed, and he moved aside.

Sylvie took some steps before pausing to speak to him again.

"You know you never apologized for that night, right? You forced yourself on me, Kage. You didn't think I deserved some sort of apology!"

He said nothing. Sylvie chomped down on her inner cheeks to prevent her from uttering the angry words she wanted to spill

out on him.

He also didn't apologize for the loss of their child.

"You're the biggest jerk I've ever met, she muttered, turned around left.

Kage stood at the balcony and watched as Westley helped Sylvie into the car. He tried not to feel anything, but it was impossible. He felt anger. Irritation,

His grip on the railings tightened as he watched them drive off

Sylvie cried herself to sleep that night, memories from the past tormenting her. Her mistake, her nightmare.

It was ten years ago, the year she had committed her biggest mustike

When the others backed off. Kage didn't and continued picking on Sylvie. There was a couple of times it got them into trouble and led to them being suspended or sanctioned

It made them enemies.

But at one point. Kage developed a different interest in her. Sylvie couldn't tell if he actually liked her or had only wanted to be the one to disvirgin her since she had been approaching her sixteenth birthday, but it didn't last. In addition, he had a girlfriend and clearly wante Then, one day, they'd gone on a school trip.

One day, she let him have her. He took her virginity, making love to her in a way she could never forget.

Kage was enraged when he found out about it, and his hatred for her deepened.

Sylvie was aware he wanted to be the one to disvirgin her. He'd started acting nice, but it was to late. She had already been attracted to Lancelot. But that was before she knew how much of a monster he was.

Angry. Kage started doing things to really hurt her. It was too much, Sylvie couldn't even get back at him.

He started setting her up, making others hate her. It became unbearable. Until Lancelot offered to help her get her revenge, and that was when she'd made the biggest mistake of her life.

She wept for a long time. regretting the decision she'd taken on that night. If only she'd known Lancelot didn't care for her and was only using her as a means to achieve his purpose. Kage didn't know what she did, and she hoped to God he never knows. Because Lancelot was right, he'd haunt her. Hate her

She was a little dizzy as she made her way into Fluxpoint, one of the richest companies in the world.

She hadn't gotten enough sleep the previous night, and that morning, she had to wake up early enough to report to Kage's

company.

She's had noodles and coffee that morning, but there was so much more she wanted to have. It was crazy that she craved too much at once.

Getting to the floor she'd be working from, the receptionist sprang to her feet with a warm smile the moment she saw her. Sylvie could feel the eyes of the other staff on her.

"Good morning, Ms. Price. Welcome to Fluxpoint. Mr. Hawkins told me to attend to you when you arrive

"Thank you."

Leading the way, the lady led her to a huge, well-arranged office. The front walls of it was the transparent glass type, giving her a view of the space outside her office.

Tm Atry and will be assisting you with whatever you need during your time here. My desk is just outside your office. I hope we can get along the lady said after taking her through the office. Thank you, Atty. I do hope we get along as well

Atty smiled as she started for the door. She was about stepping out when she paused and glanced at her.

"You're very beautiful, by the way. Has anyone ever told you that?"

A blush crept up Sylvie's cheeks. She'd always known she was exceptionally beautiful, but she'd been scared that being pregnant might take away some of that. Thankfully, it wasn't happening just yet. "Thank you," she offered a genuine smile.

When she left, Sylvie reached for her bag, taking out

the snacks she'd come with.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

She munched hungrily on them, licking her fingers in the process. God, she was hungry.

She was distracted and had no idea Kage had been watching her from outside the glass, distantly. When she noticed, she had a finger in her mouth and gasped as she quickly withdrew it. Shit.

He'd obviously been headed to his office when he spotted her and paused for a view. There was a man behind him, holding his briefcase.

Sylvie's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She quickly disposed of the empty snack packs and returned the untouched ones to her bag. Only then did Kage leave.

Sylvie rested her head on the desk. God, she needed real food. Something spicy....

Her phone beeped, jerking her up. It was a text from Westley.

"Hey. How's your first day at work? Literally.

Sylvie chuckled as she texted back.

"I already want to leave. But one thing's for sure, I'm damn hungry.

"Oh. What should I get you, then? I can send a dispatch

Nah, don't worry, it's too early to eat in an office. But I'm in for lunch, tho.

"Okay. I'll pick you up by twelve, then. Deal?

'Deal.

Although Sylvie wasn't sure she'd be able to wait that long. The cravings might have ended her life already.

you considered being my date to the party? Westley's next text made her heart skip a beat

The members of the One Trillion Group were finally holding their annual party. Each member was permitted to come with a date if they wanted, and some days ago, Westley had asked her to be his. But Sylvie had been skeptical. Being pregnant made her scared of doing a lot of things...

The annual party was always very big with a lot of influential people in attendance. The richest men in the country, and a few from outside the country.

Every six years, they take on a mega project that'll end up being the talk of the world. It was six years already. So, at the party, a new project will be announced.

Taking a deep breath, she texted back. 'Yes.'

Her door opened and Kage walked in, carrying that aura of possessiveness, like he owned the place.

His choco cologne filled the space instantly, and for some reason, t was appealing to Sylvie. Now, she felt like eating some chocolates,

"Ms. Price, are you aware it is ethically wrong to be on your phone during working hours?" He clipped. "Unless, of course, it's business related
