Chapter 17 Did You Just Call Me Brother-In-Law?
Chapter 17 Did You Just Call Me Brother-In-Law?
Sam narrowed his eyes and raised an arc over his lips. "Did you just call me brother-in-law?"
Lacey paused before returning a smile. Her eyes were wet, and it was hard to tell if it was from rain or
tears.
"Oh. My bad. I forgot that Bailey had just ended our fatherly relationship. Based on the current
situation, you are indeed no longer my brother-in-law."
She stood up on trembling legs.
As usual, she pulled out her mask and put it on.
"Thank you for the help, Mr. Garrison." Lacey paused for a moment to whisper as she passed him. It all Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
happened in the blink of an eye.
After that, she walked into the rain.
Sam frowned immediately, and there was a deep hint of hostility in his eyes.
He couldn't help but turn around and look in her direction.
It so happened that he found her on the verge of passing out.
Scowled, he strode forward. Sure enough, Lacey's vision went black, and she collapsed.
"Mr. Garrison!" Asa hurried forward, ready to take Lacey from his hands.
"She's got a fever." Sam said.
The girl in his arms had an unusually red face. It was the coldest month of the year, yet she wore very
little.
He felt an unusual heat when holding her hand.
The fever was certainly not mild.
"Do we contact her father, now?" Asa asked.
"To the hospital." Sam ordered.
Lacey was probably the last person Bailey wanted to see right now.
Asa nodded. He then took Lacey from Sam and carried her into the car.
She was placed in the back seat and couldn't help but curl up.
At the passenger seat, Sam stared out the window. No one knew what was on his mind.
Although Asa was a little suspicious, as an assistant and secretary, he was not at liberty to pry into the
actions of his boss.
The rain outside poured down and splattered on the window, blurring the view outside.
"It hurts—"
A soft murmur suddenly arose.
Sam caught a glimpse of Lacey through the rearview mirror.
She was frowning in the back row. Her mouth was quivering as she cried out in pain.
"It hurts—"
Trembling uncontrollably, she couldn't help but wrap her arms around herself.
Sam's eyes shone with a depth of significance. "Keep the temperature up." He said after a brief pause.
"Yes, sir!" Asa turned up the air conditioner right away.
Half an hour passed, they arrived at the hospital.
"Mr. Garrison, please wait a moment. I'll be right back."
Asa got out of the car and walked to the back. He picked Lacey up and hurried into the hospital.

The Garrison family posted a Facebook message at roughly 2:00 p.m.
The content was that they had faith in their future daughter-in-law, Lillianna.
Of course, messages were also left for the other daughter.
Everyone's life was different, according to the Garrisons. It was tough to make a judgment on a person.
Their implication, however, was that the Carters should handle the issue well.
After all, the two looked identical. The Garrison family would be the ones to suffer if Lacey was taken
advantage of.
The Carter family reacted quickly after the message was published.
Bailey, who was about to end his relationship with Lacey, immediately posted on Facebook that he
wanted to take his second daughter over and discipline her alongside him.
The majority of netizens applauded such an approach.
Meanwhile, Lillianna, whom everyone believed was framed by Lacey, also affectionately embraced her
sister's homecoming. She expressed her intention to help Lacey with her transformation.
Her image was thus enhanced even more.
Of course, Lacey was completely unaware of these events.
By the time she woke up, it was already six o'clock.
To her shock, she was dragged out of the hospital as soon as she woke up.
She was then shoved into the car.
