Chapter 68
Chapter 68
However, the years she spent married to Liam, even though it seemed like she was living a privileged life, she was actually always
panic.
She was worried that Liam wouldn’t want her and that he would choose Sydney Especially when she saw Liarn’s career flourishing while she could only live in his social circle under his sumame. These thoughts often kept her awake at night.
How can a person rely completely on another person for their life? Especially when that person doesn’t even love them.
Not being able to be outstanding by herself was the reason for her anxiety.
Even without Sydney, their marriage would have come to an end.
It was like how she couldn’t get used to the food Liam liked, and Liam wouldn’t accompany her to the small restaurants near the school to reminisce about the past.
Their lives were supposed to be two parallel lines that would never intersect.
“I made the order already, but there are a lot of people, so we might have to wait for a bit.”
Mason looked down and asked her, “The food is great here, but it’s a bit crowded here. Do you mind? If not, there’s another restaurant nearby with a better atmosphere.”
Celeste snapped back to reality and shook her head with a smile. “It’s fine, I’m good with anything. I used to eat around here when I was in school, didn’t expect you to choose this place.”
Mason looked slightly surprised. “You went to university around here?”
Celeste nodded.
Mason asked tentatively. “T University?”
Celeste hesitated for a moment and laughed. “There are six universities around here, how did you guess T University first?”
“Do you remember when you first came into the coffee shop, I was looking at something on my tablet?”
Celeste nodded, her eyes filled with confusion, wondering what that had to do with that.
Mason smiled. “I was watching your dubbing. You’re very skilled, so I assume you studied it specifically. Among the nearby universities, only T University has an art school.”
Celeste blushed.
She felt proud when she received praise from people on the internet, but when being complimented face-to-face, she couldn’t help but feel shy.
“So, did I guess right?” Mason asked with a smile.
Celeste nodded. “Impressive, but how did you know about this place? Did you also graduate from a nearby school?”
Mason just smiled and didn’t answer.
A thought crossed Celeste’s mind, and she asked tentatively, “T University too?”
Mason smiled and extended his hand. “T University, Political Science and Law, Mason.”
What a coincidence!
Celeste was a bit slow to extend her hand. “…Mr. Fletcher, nice to meet you.” Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Mason laughed at her politeness and said gently, “Just call me by my first name.”
The afternoon sun was very intense, and they were standing in line outside the restaurant. The sun was shining directly on Celeste.
Her skin was fair, and her cheeks were flushed from the heat, with a layer of fine sweat on her nose.
Mason got distracted, and in the moment Celeste let go of his hand, he grasped it again, gently pulling her to switch places with him.
His shadow now covered her from the sun.
Celeste was momentarily stunned.
