Chapter 2212
Chapter 2212
Hendrix thought he had hid it well. He didn't know that he had already been found out.
We have settled several things by now. What was eating at him in his heart to cause him so much distress?
When I spotted him putting on his coat, I quickly cleaned myself up lightly and followed along with him.
When we walked towards the stairs, I saw the officer that Minnie mentioned earlier. The man was tall in his uniform and looked very heroic. Just taking one look at him, showed how patriotic he was to his country.
There were two other soldiers standing at the door. They must be his guards. He seemed to be quite a powerful man.
Hendrix reached the last step and said, "Sorry to have kept you waiting."
The officer stood up and politely shook hands with Hendrix as we approached. "Hello, Mr. Roberts."
He then nodded at me politely in greeting.
We all sat down together. Hendrix crossed his legs and got straight to the point. "I wonder what brings an officer to see us personally so early this morning?"
The man didn't hesitate to reply. He placed his hand into the pocket of his jacket, took out a black folder and handed it to us. "These are my certificates. I'm the commander of the Fourth Special Operations Brigade of the Eighth Military Region. I am mainly in charge of border control, anti- narcotics and national defense."
Hendrix took the documents from his hand, opened them and glanced at each of them. He then handed them back calmly. "Mr. Zimmer, do you need our help with anything?"
Cyrus Zimmer had very delicate facial features and was every bit the traditional image of a tough man. He was born to be the representative image of the ideal soldier.
His eyes seemed very familiar. Did I bump into him in the streets before?
Cyrus didn't beat around the bush and said seriously, "According to the information we have, Lucas and Quinn have been coming in and out of the Roberts family villa recently, have they not?"
"Therefore, it is clear to assume that all of you are involved with them. You have all been under our surveillance by the military from the moment you first met them."
Hendrix looked downwards and thought about this for a while. He didn't deny this. "This is true."
Cyrus nodded with a solemn look on his face. He raised his thick eyebrows and asked, "How much do you know about the both of them?" Cyrus was still speaking politely. He hadn't jumped into any conclusions nor assumed that Hendrix was on the same page as Quinn.
He was being sincere and Hendrix wasn't hiding the truth from him. "We all know what we should do. Mr. Zimmer, you can be straight with us."
"Sure." Cyrus nodded and got to the point. "In this case, Mr. Roberts, you probably already know the purpose of this meeting. Will you give me a definite answer?"
We were involved with a group of people who burned, killed, robbed and committed all manners of crimes. Cyrus wanted to ask us whether Hendrix had intervened in any of these matters. Content

In my opinion, this wasn't a difficult question to answer, but Hendrix had gone silent.
Everyone knows what staying silent means in this kind of situation.
They looked at each other quietly, as though coming to a silent agreement with each other. I felt like pins and daggers glinting from their eyes.
I was afraid that Cyrus would misunderstand him, so I quickly changed the topic and dispelled his worries. "No."NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Upon hearing this, Cyrus turned to me. The gentle kindness he had on his face earlier had been replaced with a strong sense of righteous justice. He looked like he was ready to convict us on the spot.
