Chapter 376 The Shareholders‘ Meeting

Mathilda wiped away her tears, and there was strong hatred in her eyes.

“Janet is an ungrateful person. When she was young, I was so kind to her. But now that she has grown

up, and she is capable, so she kicks me away.”

Conrad said bitterly, “If I raise a dog, it will wag its tail. I have worked for Longfellow Group for so many

years, and she kicks me away just like that?”

“She is really ungrateful. What if I take all the shares of Longfellow Group? Her parents were short–

lived. If it weren’t for my support, would Longfellow Group have achieved what it is now?”

“That’s what I deserve.”

Although Coral didn’t say anything, the hatred in her eyes was no less than that of her parents.

In her eyes, Janet humiliated her again and again, making her a joke of the entire select society now. A

nd there’s nothing wrong with her family. Just because Janet turned matters upside down, making them

look like notorious

rats.

Coral gritted her teeth and thought, “About what she did to me, I want her to pay back many times.”

Conrad paced back and forth in the room for a few steps, stopped suddenly and slapped on the railing

of the bed with one hand.

“We absolutely can’t just await our doom like this. We have to find a way to get back everything we

lost.”

He gritted his teeth, with a fierce expression on his face, “The case is still

under investigation, and I am still a group shareholder. We are not at the end of our rope.”

Mathilda sneered, “Group shareholder? Do you think Janet will take this

seriously? Conrad, don’t be too whimsical.”

“Mathilda, don’t forget that we are on the same boat.”

Coral took Mathilda’s hand, pinched it and gave her a look of disapproval.

Mathilda bore it and did not say anything to mock Conrad.

Conrad snorted softly, looked down at the phone and suddenly tightened his hand, which was gripping

on the railing.

“There are three days left…”

Conrad said vaguely, and there was a different kind of light in his eyes.

Coral never knew anything about Conrad, so she looked at

him curiously, “Dad, what are you talking about? What do you mean by ‘three days‘?”

“In three days, the shareholders‘ meeting of Longfellow Group will begin. As long as I am still a shareho

lder, I can attend the meeting.”

Coral’s eyes lit up, “Dad, what do you decide to do?”

Conrad put on his hat and mask and said in a glum voice, “I will definitely make Janet pay the price.”

After finishing his words, he turned around, left in a hurry and closed the door

of the ward with a bang.

The president’s office in Webster Group,

“Hello, Mr. Winters.”

Jessie, the secretary of the president’s office, pushed open the door of Alfred’s office with a flattering s

mile on her face.

Alfred was reading documents. Hearing it, he raised his head and saw that she was standing at the doo

r with a document in her hand.

In the office area behind her, a group of people were busy working on the surface, but they were actuall

y listening to Jessie and Alfred carefully.

“Come in, please. What’s the matter?” Alfred straightened his glasses, and

there was a little surprise in his eyes.

Jessie came in hurriedly, holding the document. She said nervously, “Mr. Winters, do me a favor, pleas

e. I have a document here. Can you help me to ask

Mr. Webster to sign it?”

Alfred frowned. His cold face was not as scary as Donahueiel, but it was

enough to scare this group of assistants.

“This is your job. Why are you coming to me for help?”

Jessie was about to speak but said nothing. The fear was written on her face,

but she dared not to say it out.

She didn’t say anything, but Alfred knew that the atmosphere in the

president’s office had been tense in the past few days.

Donahueiel, who always buried his feelings, had been so cold these days. He

even fired a manager of Legal Affairs Department yesterday because the

contract reviews were not in place.

All the staff in the president’s

office took Donahueiel’s cue. They were very shrewd, so they could naturally sense that he was in a ve

ry bad mood these

two days.

Alfred didn’t know exactly what had happened, but based on his experience,

Donahueiel was in a bad mood mostly because of Janet.

“As long as you don’t make mistakes in your work, Mr. Webster will not vent

his anger on you casually.”

Alfred urged her to go to work, “Don’t worry. Go ahead.”

Jessie stood still and dared not to move. She looked nervously at the people

outside the door and lowered her voice.

“Just now, Bessy heard the sound of a glass being thrown in Mr. Webster’s

office. After the cleaner came out, she said that he seemed to be watching

some kind of scary video. It was weird.”

After finishing her words, Jessie put her palms together and begged, “Mr.

Winters, please help me. Please help me this time, and I will treat you to

dinner another day.”

“You are a fair–haired boy around Mr. Webster. If you dare not go, then we will

not dare. If we make him angry, we will be scolded…”

Alfred felt speechless. He could be by Donahueiel’s side for such a long time because he could take D Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

onahueiel’s cue, not because he was very lucky.

As for this favor, he had a heart but no strength. Even if he was softhearted

enough to help, Donahueiel might hold him responsible. This job was not in

his job description. Why should he meddle in other people’s work?

At that time, Jessie and he would be unlucky…

Alfred glanced at Jessie. He thought, “She is new to the company. She doesn’t know Mr. Webster’s tem

per very well. What if she goes in there and says the wrong things?”

Alfred sighed and took the document, “Okay. Just this once…”

Before Donahueiel

finished his words, a group of people gathered around the door, holding documents one by one and loo

king at Alfred eagerly.

“Mr. Winters, do me a favor, please.”

“Mr. Winters, you are such a good person.”

“Mr. Winters, and mine. I will treat you to dinner.”

Alfred…

He slammed the document in his hand on the table and looked around with a

sullen face, “You all want to quit, don’t you?”

It was silent for a moment at the door.

Alfred patted the table, “This is the company, not a market. If you are not satisfied with your job and do

n’t want to send documents, you should go to the personnel department. Those who want

to resign can resign, and those who want to be transferred can be transferred.”

Everyone at the door looked at each other in speechless despair. and they

didn’t dare to say anything for a moment. They lowered their heads and ran

back to their desks. Seeing that

Alfred had no intention of returning the document on the table to Jessie, she ran back to her desk grate

fully and

quickly.

Alfred’s phone for work rang suddenly. He looked at the phone and saw the name “Mr. Webster” on it.

Alfred felt a little nervous in an instant, and he answered the phone

immediately.

“Hello, Mr. Webster.”

“Come to my office.”

Alfred took the document, stood at the door of Donahueiel’s office and

knocked on the door.

After hearing the reply from inside, he pushed open the door and heard a low cry of a baby.

He trembled, almost thinking he heard it wrong.

He paused for a second and then walked into the office calmly.

Alfred saw Donahueiel sitting on a chair and looking at the phone expressionlessly. The cry of the baby

came from his phone.

After a while, in between the cry came a piercing laugh and a grinding of teeth,

which sounded like a female ghost.

Alfred felt scared and his heart was beating so fast that he could almost hear

his heartbeat clearly.

After a long time, the video on Donahueiel’s phone was over, and it started to play a second time. Whe

n they heard the cry of the baby again, Donahueiel lowered his eyes and turned off the phone.

It was silent instantly in the office. Alfred breathed a sigh of relief, put the document in front of Donahuei

el and asked him to sign.

Donahueiel didn’t ask any more questions, signed the document neatly and

closed it.

“Make an appointment with the president of Smedley Group this afternoon.”

Donahueiel said suddenly and pushed the document to Alfred calmly.
