Chapter 179 I Can’t Help You

“Conrad, I am not as thoughtful as you. You came to the company to work as soon as you recovered. If

someone doesn’t know you well, they might think you have some plans for the Longfellow Group and

want to take me down when I am not in the company.”

Janet went to Conrad and looked down at him with a lake smile.

Conrad treated Janet as a silly girl who was not enough to be a threat to him. When Janet stood beside

him, he had a strong sense of

oppression.

Conrad subconsciously stood up and gave up the main seat. He said with a sullen face, “What are you

talking about? If I had such an Idea, how could I return the Longfellow Group to you?”

Conrad had wild ambitions but dared not to show that in front of others. There were a few stubborn

directors. They supported the

legitimate heir of the Longfellow family.

Conrad continued. “I heard you had gone to another city. The investment project was urgent. You said

to think about it but didn’t give me a

reply. I thought I should help you when you were busy. You came back when I just gathered the

directors for a meeting.”

Janet sneered.

Conrad knew whether he was helping Janet or making trouble for her.

“You came to the company to work hard as soon as you recovered. Therefore, I had to come back

quickly. How could I make you tired?”

When Janet said that. Conrad’s lace turned pale. He was embarrassed.

At that moment, a director said with dissatisfaction.

“Ms. Longfellow, you know it’s your duty. The company needs to be managed. As the chairman, how

could you leave such a large group to

a business manager?”

Janet knew the director supported Conrad, so she ignored him. She sat down on the main seat and

slammed the table. She said coldly.

“Geordie is my agent. If you disagree with me, I can’t help you. I am the chairman of the Longfellow

Group. I don’t need to report my

schedule to any of you.”

“Ms. Longfellow, you have gone too far. I said that for the sake of the company…”

“Alright, stop arguing. Janet is young and vigorous. She just went out to have fun for a few days. There

is no need to be harsh.”

Conrad tried to mediate.

It seemed that he was helping Janet. In fact, what he said made the directors even more dissatisfied

with Janet.

“You are his uncle and won’t be harsh to her. How much effort and resources did we spend on the

investment project? She said to think

about it. It has been so long, but there is no reply.”

The director slapped the table and glared at Janet. “Ms. Longfellow, you have three days to restart the

investment project. Otherwise, I will

implement the impeachment power of the board of directors.”

Hearing that, Janet sneered. Then, she said in a peaceful but firm tone, “It is impossible to restart the

project.”

“You…”

“Janet, don’t be stubborn. It is not good for you and the Longfellow Group,” Conrad said, and his words

were full of threats.

However, Janet felt him funny.

After watching the show of the silly guys, Janet slowly tapped the screen of her phone.

Janet was in a white silk blouse, and her hair hung down her back. Even a lift of her hand seemed

graceful.

“Haven’t you received the message yet? I was the one who got the software designed by Nigel at the

New-Media Industry Convention in Austin.

“Marco.”

Marco showed up behind Janet and took out a contract from his briefcase.

Janet put the contract on the table and raised her eyebrow at Conrad.

“Here is the contract. Once the app is released, the company’s funds can be withdrawn quickly. As for

your investment project, there is no

need to restart it.”

Everyone was shocked.

Conrad was dumbfounded. He didn’t expect Janet to go to Nigel to participate in the New-Media

Industry Convention. He tried to contact the directors of the company to pressure Janet but forgot to

investigate what she was doing.

He had miscalculated.

Conrad wanted to take advantage of the project to take down Janet. If it was stopped, he wouldn’t have

another chance. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Conrad slammed the table angrily and stood up. He scolded, “Nonsense. How could an app fill the

financial gap of the company? You are naive.”

Janet raised her eyebrow and narrowed her beautiful eyes. “Conrad, you should know its designer

before judging me.”

Some of the directors knew Nigel and the software designed by him. They all wanted to see the details

of the app.

“Marco, turn on the projection.”

Conrad’s face turned pale, and he could no longer refute.
