My Mute Wife

Chapter 131 – In Danger

Kevin hesitated for a moment, “Nothing, just wanted to say that it’s a nice day, I’ll take them both out for a walk with you, the air is still very good on this side of the southern suburbs.”

[Don’t you have to rush back to work?

“It’s a day off.”

Lexie nods, the corners of her eyes lifting in a gentle curve.

As soon as Lydia heard that she was going out, she was so excited that she immediately put down the piano and ran to the kitchen to discuss with Joey what food to bring, “sandwiches, juice, milk, and most importantly, a barbecue, and a hanging chair!”

Patrick didn’t have the good sense to say, “You think elementary school students are on a spring trip?”

“Recognize the calendar? It’s fall tour!”

Kevin held Lexie, and the two laughed helplessly.

Before leaving the house, several of Alan’s bodyguards left at the villa blocked Lexie’s way.

Lydia immediately yelled, “What are you doing?”

“Miss Hunt, Mr. Howard has instructed that the missus is not to leave here.”

“We’ll be back in the evening, so you guys just turn a blind eye.”

“It won’t work, Miss Hunt you don’t give us a hard time.”

Lydia glanced back at Lexie, who had a decidedly darker look on her face.

[It’s okay Lydia, don’t go.]

“No!”

Lydia sulked, “Lexie, you guys wait for me.”

After saying this, she immediately walked a little farther away and dialed a phone out.

“Hello? It’s me.”

It was Jack who answered the phone, “Miss Hunt, what can I do for you?”

After hearing Lydia’s words, Jack immediately headed for the ballroom and found Alan, “Mr. Howard, Miss Hunt’s on the phone.”

Alan in a white suit, he rarely wears white, compared to the black suit, the hostility of the body is covered up a lot, the whole person looks much calmer.

The ballroom was full of people who had come to his and Edith’s engagement party.

“What’s wrong?”

“Miss Hunt said that Dr. Stewart went over there today and said he was going to take the wife out for a spin, but he was stopped by a couple of them at Five.”

Alan frowned, his dark eyes imprinted on the figure walking in the distance carrying his skirt, and murmured, “Just have them follow.”

“Yes.”

Jack busied himself with the phone and left.

The person who came face to face was Edith, in a pink floor-length gown sarong, “Jack why are you in such a hurry, what’s the matter?”

“Nothing, company stuff, let’s go.”

Edith originally wanted to ask Alan if he looked good in this body today, but saw that he was not interested, he was a little upset and frowned and followed him.

As she walked away, she lowered her voice and asked the person beside her, “How did it go?”

“Don’t worry, people are ready.”

The villa in the southern suburbs was originally located near several J City niche scenic spots, surrounded by mountains and a large lake.

Kevin took Lexie and the others to spread out picnic mats by the lake, Patrick was busy with the barbecue, and Lydia, with one leg still in a cast and her crutches in her crevice, was indefatigably tying a hammock between two large trees.

When Patrick saw it, he couldn’t help but spit out four words to describe it, “physically challenged.”

Lydia immediately gave him a blank look, “Exhausted your life’s vocabulary, huh?”

Lexie sat down in a folding chair and Kevin brought a blanket over to cover her, “Are you cold?”

Lexie shook her head and was greeted by the shimmering lake.

It’s already autumn, the leaves are falling all over the hillside, and the scenery is really beautiful.

“Drink some water.”

[Thank you.]

Kevin stood aside and inquired, “What are your plans for when the baby is born?”

Lexie’s gaze swept over Lydia and Patrick, pondered for a moment, and gestured, [I think it will leave J City.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Kevin froze, but quickly calmed down after seeing a few bodyguards in the distance.

“I understand.”

J City is a place that has brought her so much pain that it would be a good thing for her to leave.

With Lydia and Patrick around, the rare outing became fun and the group did not return home until late afternoon.

After dinner, he watched Lexie rest before Kevin left.

“Dr. Stewart,” Lydia chased out of the house on her crutches, “thank you for today.”

“Thank me for what?”

“You know what day it is, that’s why you chose today on purpose, right?”

Lydia looked back at the lighted bedroom in the house, “I didn’t know what to do today, I was afraid I would say the wrong thing and make Lexie sad again, but luckily you came.”

Kevin says, “She’s a lot tougher than we thought she was.”

Alan and Edith got engaged today, the news has long spread throughout J City, the news is all over the place, Lexie can’t possibly not know about it.

Even so, she cooperated with them, went out happily today and came back happily, without showing the slightest difference.

“Go back, I’ll go first, feel free to call me if anything happens.”

“Well, Dr. Stewart you drive slowly.”

After seeing Kevin’s car leave, Lydia went back to the house.

Patrick was gesturing at something on the coffee table, which had a sign language book on it.

“Wrong,” Lydia gave him a blank look and limped across the room to sit down, “at this rate of learning, you’re not going to learn sign language for the rest of your life.”

“You will?” Patrick was annoyed, “You will you do.”

“Why should I learn this? I just need to understand it.”

Patrick froze, suddenly understanding what Lydia meant.

Yes, as long as you can understand it, why do you have to learn it?

“Too stupid to be true, take your time learning, I’ll go find Lexie.”

“Don’t disturb her for too long, let her rest early today.”

“Got it!”

Looking at Lydia’s back, Patrick is no longer as resistant as he was when he first met her before.

It was late at night.

Patrick was alone in the living room reading a book, glancing in the direction of the bedroom every now and then. Lydia went in for half a day and didn’t come out, how come there was so much to talk about between women?

I don’t know how long it took, but a scream suddenly came from the bedroom.

“Who are you?”

“Help!”

Patrick immediately dropped the book and rushed in.

In the bedroom, Lydia is being held up by two black-clad men, Lexie is dropped under the bed, and a dark figure is approaching her, holding a cold, glowing steel pipe.

Patrick rushed up without saying a word.

The visitor, however, was well-trained and kicked Patrick to the ground in three blows.

“No!”

Patrick grabbed the other man’s ankles and desperately tried to stop him from getting close to Lexie.

“Sister, run!”

“Unknowing thing!” The man in black went down with a fierce foot and stepped on Patrick’s finger, the sound of broken bone joints was extraordinarily clear.

Lexie’s pupils contracted violently and she wanted to shout but couldn’t. She retreated to the corner and looked at the tall black figure in front of her in horror, her face pale.

The three men in black came in from the first floor window and grabbed the screaming Lydia as soon as they entered.

At this point, Lydia’s eyes were red with anxiety as her mouth was covered.

Lexie, however, could not even shout.

The raised steel pipe reflected the cold color in the light, and Lexie slammed her eyes shut as pain struck.
