Chapter 35
Chapter 35
After Cheryl regained her senses, a disgusted and scornful expression appeared on her face.
She pointed at Celena and Liam and bellowed, “You bitch! How dare you bring this useless piece of shit back here? You had brought such terrible shame to the Stone family back then. Everything has finally settled down, yet you brought him back. Are you trying to remind the entire Drunham City that you had slept with your best friend’s fiance at her wedding and had a daughter with him?”
“No, that’s not what I was thinking,” Celena refuted in tears. She was not trying to sully the Stone family’s reputation once again.
Feeling helpless, she tugged at Liam’s clothes. With her face covered in tears, she begged him, “Liam, don’t say anything anymore… I’m begging you.”
The Stones were clearly trying to humiliate Celena. Liam desperately wanted to pull Celena up and leave. However, he knew Celena was a weak but stubborn person. Unless she figured it out herself, nobody would be able to stop her once she made up her mind.
After hearing what Celena said, no matter how reluctant he felt, he could only frown and move aside to wait for her.
Reginald was repulsed by their interaction. He sneered and was going
to turn around and leave.
Celena quickly moved forward on her knees and grabbed the hem of Reginald’s pants. She begged, “Don’t go, Grandpa. I’m begging you, please save Jovie and Liam. Jovie is your granddaughter.”
Cheryl could not stand it anymore. She pushed Celena away and cursed with disgust, “Fuck off, you bitch! What granddaughter? Our
family has nothing to do with you and your bastard child. We won’t help you either. Just give up. It’s your fault for offending the Walkers. You, this useless man, and the bastard deserve to die.”
“Grandpa, I’m begging you. Please help me. I don’t know who else to go to other than you. Grandpa…” Celena moved closer to Reginald’s legs and begged in tears.
However, no matter how much she cried and begged, there was not a trace of pity on Reginald’s face.
Feeling disgusted and annoyed, he shook Celena’s hands off and said, “Forget it. I won’t help you. You have nothing to do with our family anymore. Do you think we’ll offend the Walkers for you?”
Upon saying that, Reginald and Cheryl turned around and left.
Before Cheryl left with Reginald, she looked at the security guards, who were frozen in place out of fear, and shouted angrily, “Why are you still standing there? Close the door. Do you think our door is open to just anybody?”
The security guards quickly closed the door, leaving Celana crying on the ground outside the door while Liam stood next to her.
Celena cried in great despair. To her, Reginald had always been her kind grandfather who would dote on her unconditionally.
At that moment, the impression of Reginald being her protector, whom she thought highly of, completely crumbled. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Liam looked at the door that was shut with an indifferent gaze. Then, he crouched next to Celena and hugged her tightly.
Liam’s hug was incredibly warm. Celena was able to feel Liam’s breath as she breathed. As if she had found her tower of strength, she leaned in his arms and cried in despair.
“Liam, Grandpa really doesn’t want me anymore.” Celena sobbed
before she continued, “He used to love me the most. He doesn’t love me anymore now. The Stone family doesn’t want me anymore. I don’t have a family anymore.”
Liam felt his heartache when he saw Celena cry with great sorrow. He tightened his arms around her and said, “Celena, you have a family! You have Jovie and me! Don’t worry. They kicked you out of the family, but they will beg on their knees for your return one day. Trust me. They’ll regret this.”
