Chapter 672
A wave of disgust washed over Mandy.
"Mrs. Pendleton, you and Richard played a cruel trick on me, using your child to impersonate mine," she accused.
Liora turned pale with fear.
Selene said, "Have you been secretly mocking me over these years for having the title of Mrs. Pendleton and nothing else?
"I've been reluctant to find fault with you, not out of fear but because I found speaking to someone like you pointless.
"But since you've approached me, let me clarify. Chadwick is your son, and I was deceived into treating my enemy's child as my own. Now that the truth is revealed, you expect me to save him? That's impossible!"
She then stated firmly, "Richard owes me, and so does Chadwick. I will collect what's due from both of them."
Selene looked at Liora ruthlessly and warned, "Starting now, you better pray daily that my child remains safe and healthy. Otherwise, your son will endure the same suffering mine has."
Liora paled and stammered, "Chadwick has been calling you Mom all these years..."
"Lucky for Chadwick. He's as foolish as you and Richard," Selene replied. "Otherwise..."
Selene had dedicated years to Richard and the woman before her in vain.
"Escort Mrs. Pendleton out," she ordered.
Liora was anxious and on the verge of tears. She attempted to speak, but Selene cut in, summoning a maid, "Shelly."
Shelly Mosby set aside her work and approached respectfully. "Do you have any orders, Madam?"
"If she doesn't leave, throw her out," Selene instructed before gracefully leaving.
"Understood," Shelly acknowledged, approaching Liora with a disdainful look. "This way."
Confident that Selene wouldn't dare have her thrown out, Liora remained seated on the sofa.
Mandy, however, was worried about being kicked out, which would be humiliating. She pulled Liora away from the Pendleton residence.
Liora wept and asked, "Mandy, what should we do now?"
"Let's return to the villa first and gather all the valuable jewelry. Then I'm going to see Bradley."
Half an hour later, Mandy met Bradley at their agreed-upon location.
"Please, have a seat." Bradley gestured elegantly, and Mandy sat down.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she began to speak, giving her a pitiful appearance. "Mr. Warner, can you help me?"
Bradley sipped his coffee and asked, "Help you? What's in it for me?"NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
Mandy silently cursed him, recalling she had already donated her liver to him, yet he still demanded benefits. Was he even human?
Mandy pleaded delicately, "Mr. Warner, if you assist me, I can persuade my father to hand over his hidden influence to you."
This was a spur-of-the-moment idea from Mandy. She didn't know if she could pull it off, but she was dangling a significant carrot in front of Bradley.
"As far as I know, the Quills can't spare the resources to deal with you right now. But once they're free, you'll be the first one they come after. If you have the Pendletons' influence..."
Bradley slid a cup of coffee toward Mandy with a sly smile. "Mandy, are you unwilling to offer yourself to me?"
