Chapter 540 Every Dog Has Its Day
Rebecca put her hands on the car door and looked at Abbot with a forced smile.
Abbot looked at her and asked, "Are you leaving or not?"
Rebecca smiled awkwardly, "Fine."
After saying that, she closed the door of the passenger seat, walked to the driver's seat, and bent over
to get in the car.
Fastening the seat belt, she turned the steering wheel and drove.
After driving for a while, Rebecca felt that the atmosphere in the car was too embarrassing. She
coughed and took the initiative to ease the atmosphere. "I found that you have a lot of houses."
Abbot leaned back and said, "I have a hobby. As long as the house is built by the Carter Group and the
location is good, I will keep one for myself."
Rebecca replied, "It's a good hobby." Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Was this the life of a real rich man?
Then there was silence in the car again.
After a while, Abbot asked, "How are you with the young professor you dated last time?"
Rebecca asked, "What do you mean?"
Abbot looked at her and asked, "Haven't you made any development?"
Rebecca clenched the steering wheel. "Don't you know how we are going?" She thought.
"Have you lost your memory? Or are you getting old and forgetful? Who told me not to fall in love
before I pay the money?"
Thinking of the money, Rebecca pursed her lips and said, "By the way, the money I owe you, I'll give it
to you next week."
Abbot, "Hmm?"
Rebecca replied, "I have received the payment for an order."
Abbot looked at her without saying anything.
He just asked her about her love life, but she said she would pay him the money.
After Rebecca finished her words, seeing Abbot was looking at her, she added, "Don't worry. Although
we are friends, I will pay you according to the market interest."
"Do I need your interest?" Abbot asked.
Noticing the change in Abbot's mood, Rebecca looked at him suspiciously, "Excuse me?"
Abbot didn't look at Rebecca anymore. He pulled his tie irritably and said, "Focus on driving."
Then he closed his eyes and had a rest.
Rebecca pursed her lips and drove silently.
Forty minutes later, they arrived at Fikburg. After parking the car, Rebecca turned to look at Abbot and
said, "Here we are."
Abbot breathed steadily as if he was asleep.
Rebecca patted him on the arm and called, "Abbot?"
Abbot was in a deep sleep. Rebecca patted him two times, but he didn't wake up.
When she was about to pat him for the third time, Abbot frowned unconsciously. Rebecca withdrew her
hand immediately.
Feeling bored, she turned her head to look out of the window at the night scene. Then she suddenly
noticed Abbot's sleeping face reflecting on the glass.
She looked at him for a while and sighed, "If he is not Colin's friend, I would have chased him long
ago."
On the other side, the others came out of the hotpot restaurant to pay the bill.
Colin clasped Faye's ten fingers and looked at Ethan with a smile. "Don't drive after drinking. I'll take
you a ride."
Ethan chuckled, "No, I'll call a chauffeur service."
Colin raised his eyebrows. "Aren't you going home?"
Ethan replied, "Violet's case is not over yet. I'll go to her to get the evidence."
Colin smiled meaningfully but didn't debunk his lie. "Okay."
"Your smile looks not good," said Ethan.
"Really?" Colin asked.
"Be confident," said Ethan.
Colin snickered, "My smile is not important. The most important thing is whether Ms. Rowan has a new
boyfriend or not. Remember to ask her clearly."
Ethan squinted but didn't answer.
Colin chatted with Ethan outside the hotpot restaurant for a while and then left with Faye in his arms.
On their way back, Faye was driving while Colin was sitting in the passenger seat, stretching his legs.
"Every dog has its day. They used to laugh at me every day. Now it's my turn to laugh at them."
Faye also smiled. "Did they laugh at you for having a secret crush on me?"
Colin replied, "Yep."
After saying that, he added, "Ethan seems to be a man of few words, but he was the meanest at that
time."
Faye deepened her smile. Thinking of how Colin and Ethan got along, she said, "I can imagine that."
Seeing Faye's smile, Colin also smiled. He said in a low but sexy voice, "Babe."
Faye, "Hmm?"
Colin said, "It's so good that we can be together till now."
Faye felt a little sour in her heart to hear that. "It's all your credit."
Colin was about to say something when Faye's phone vibrated.
Faye focused on driving without looking down. "Who is it?"
Colin took a glance at it. The next second, however, his face turned cold. "Maxwell Camden."
