Chapter 4 Unforgettable
He seemed unable to make a decision.
The owner of the car should be at the back.
Deanna instinctively looked over and saw a man sitting in the back seat, wearing a smart black suit, with extraordinarily attractive features that gave off a dangerous charm. His whole aura exuded nobility, making it impossible to ignore.
However, his lips were very pale, suggesting he might be unwell, with his eyes closed as if resting. Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
Next to the man was a young man with gold-rimmed spectacles, looking mature and steady, with a calculating gleam in his eyes and a worried expression on his brow.
He spoke, "Larry, give this young lady your card, we'll discuss compensation later. First, take Mr. Mercer to Old Hughes's place. Let's not waste any more time here."
As they talked, Deanna approached the car and, relying on her acute sense of smell, caught a whiff of blood coming from inside the vehicle.
She couldn't help but frown, guessing that the man in the car was injured. She couldn't help but look at him a bit more. At a glance, this man was clearly not someone to be trifled with.
In the car, Lance raised an eyebrow, sensing the prying eyes from the side.
He slowly opened his eyes, which were cold and sharp, and stared daggers at her.
Deanna had never seen eyes so cold. Her body couldn't help but shiver involuntarily. She quickly withdrew her gaze, feeling a bit suspicious. This man seemed familiar.
Before she could think further, she heard the driver respond, "Yes."
The driver turned around, looked at her, and asked, "What's your name? Leave me a contact number."
"I'm Deanna Jones, and this is my phone." Deanna replied truthfully, taking out her phone from her pocket and handing it to the driver. "I only have this number. Don't worry, I won't run away. I just can't come up with a lot of money at once. I hope you can discuss with your young master about the repair costs of the car. I'll pay, but could you give me some time to raise the money?"
The driver dialed her number, confirmed it was real and could be reached, then showed a satisfied expression. "You're lucky today. You can go. We'll contact you later to discuss compensation, how much to pay, and so on."
"Okay, my phone will be on 24 hours. Thank you." Deanna nodded, thanking him.
Still somewhat uneasy, he pointed at Deanna and warned her harshly, "I warn you, don't change your phone number or try to default. We can easily find out your identity and address. If you try any tricks, we won't be as easy to deal with."
"I won't. I said it's my responsibility, and I'll take it. I won't default." She reassured him repeatedly.
Only then did the driver get back into the car and hurriedly drive away.
Watching them leave, Deanna suddenly felt a soft touch on her hand. She looked down and found two small hands holding hers, their little eyebrows furrowed in worry.
Chloe lifted her little head. "Mommy, what are we going to do? Do we have to pay a lot of money?"
"It's okay. Mommy will figure it out!" Deanna smiled at Julia, comforting the two little ones.
She didn't want her children to worry about money at such a young age.
But even though she said that, Deanna herself wasn't sure.
Where could she collect so much money in such a short time?
