Just one dinner
Dexter
Why did I feel like I’d strained the already overstretched bond that was barely hanging on a thread?
I knew how saucy my sister could be with paupers, but Lorraine wasn’t one. She was the wife of a billionaire-my wife, yet she agreed to call herself a maid and there was nothing I could do about it.
Seeing her all wrapped in Arnold’s arm at the entrance that time filled me with a strange kind of feeling I feared to entertain. That moment, it took all my self-will and the reminder that we were in a formal place to stop me from landing an angry punch on his cheeks.
No other man has the right to touch her apart from me. I was the only one who could make her body react to my touch even when she thought she didn’t want me.
I couldn’t allow her to continue making a fool of herself so I returned to the sitting room to make sure that Victoria wasn’t going overboard on her, and I almost regretted it because Emilia was seated on my chair with a gobsmacked expression on her face.
“What are you doing here, Emilia?” I hollered since no one was willing to talk.
She broke the stare and flashed her signature sultry smile at me. “I’m here to see my friend, do you think the world revolves around only you?”
Victoria glared at me but I ignored her. “Dexter,” She groaned. “Don’t tell me that you have forgotten about our friendship?”
Damn it! I should have thought about all of this before bringing her home. But she was my baby sister, it wasn’t wrong for her to know where I lived.
“I haven’t, it’s just that…”
“He’s surprised to see me here because there are a lot of skeletons in his cupboard.” She chuckled and fixed a surprised stare at Lorraine who had been unable to say anything since she saw Emilia. “What is she doing here?”
No. No. No. I couldn’t let this happen. “Emilia, can I see you outside for a second?”
“She’s his maid.” Victoria informed her before I could stop her. “Not so smart, is she?” She derogated.
Emilia blinked hard, her lips widely parted as she raised a finger at her. “You’re his maid? How can you even combine that with your job at the agency?”
I lurched at her and palmed her mouth, dragging her out of the sitting room to the hallway. “You have to leave, right now!” I said sternly.
She fiddled with the tip of her blonde hair, intentionally sucking on her lower lips. “I came to visit your sister, not you. How do you think she’ll feel if I leave abruptly just because you asked me to?”
I resisted the urge to ring the security downstairs and ask them to yank her away from my sight, knowing that it wouldn’t end well for us, especially Lorraine.
“You can stay, but you have to keep your big mouth trapped. I don’t need you blabbering off to my sister. Just have fun and leave.” I demanded with a deadpan expression.
She chuckled, her tone bearing some hint of sultriness. Why did she want to seduce me every time she was around me? Was my cock that addicting?
“It’s sweet to know that you actually know the size of your mouth.” She grinned, advancing towards me with a wink. “Who’s Lorraine to you, Dexter? With the way you protect her, I’m very sure that she’s more than an employee to you.”
She was right. I couldn’t even consider Lorraine as my employee. She wouldn’t even be one if she wasn’t so keen on working and being a model.
I knew that she had the right figure for it but the passion, where did it even come from? She never mentioned wanting to be a model while we were in high school.
“Victoria just told you who she was. She’s my maid and she doubles as a model at the agency. Why do you care so much?” I asked, folding my arms.
“Oh! spare me the crap!” She snapped, “Your maid? Really?”
I sighed, thinking of how to salvage the situation without causing more mess. “The only thing I want you to do is to protect Lorraine’s identity from Victoria.”Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Nothing goes for nothing.” She stated.
“Women!” I inclined my head and muttered in disgust. “I’ll pay you for this.”
She snorted and closed the distance between us, trailing her fingers on my bare arm. I didn’t even feel any hint of excitement as she touched me. The sparks that usually ignited in my body each time Lorraine passed a simple glance at me were nowhere to be found, instead, my skin crawled with irritation.
“Money, money every time. I don’t need your money and you know that. I want something more personal than the stash of cash in your account.” She drawled, leaning on my chest. “I want this.” Her fingers continued the trails down to her my dick.
I pushed her away instantly. “Not getting that.” I said with a snide tone.
She furrowed her brows with a mischievous smirk. “I’m not? I thought you wanted my lips sealed?” She reminded me while I clenched my fists, wondering why Lorraine liked making things hard for herself.
Why on earth couldn’t she come clean and allow me to tell everyone that she was my wife?
“For sure, your lips are going to be sealed. I just need to figure out the perfect way to make sure it never spills unnecessary information.” I growled, enjoying the blanched look on her face which she quickly covered up with her annoying smirk.
She raised her hand in mock surrender. “Alright. Let’s call it a truce. Just have dinner with me and I promise you wouldn’t have to fear about your dear Lorraine’s reputation coming out in public.” She said, making a zipped lips sign.
“Your promise doesn’t bear any weight to me.”
“It’s your choice to trust me blindly, after all, you’re the one making the request.”
I sighed in resignation, ruffling my hair. “Dinner after the runway show. Just one dinner and that’s it, don’t expect anything else from me.”
