“Tell me it’s a lie, Alexa. It’s not true!” Jace screamed in excitement.

Alexa just smiled uncontrollably, her cheeks hurting as a result.

“But it is true. Why should I tell you otherwise?” Alexa questioned amidst giggles.

“It feels so unreal.” Jace smiled.

“I know! I feel like I’m dreaming myself ” Alexa returned.

“So how did it happen?” Jace asked.

“I just used his business card, called up his office landline, got directed to his home, and when I met him, boom! I got the job ” Alexa explained.

“Wow. So how much is he gonna pay you?” Jace asked.

“Twenty hundred dollars,” Alexa said and Jace shrieked in extreme surprise.

A nurse passing by their (Jace and Blossom’s) wardroom took some steps backward and stepped in.

“I’m sorry, but you’re not allowed to scream like that in a hospital. Especially when you’re in a two patients’ room, and the other patient is asleep.” The nurse cautioned.

Jace bit down his lip to cause the excitement blowing inside him to remain a little bit more bottled up.

“We’re sorry about that. He was just excited, that’s all.” Alexa explained and apologized.

“I understand that, but you should know better. Shouting takes a lot of energy, and during this action, a lot of air leaves the lungs… And since your brother has a bad heart, air leaving his lungs for more than 7 seconds would cause more damage.” The nurse said.

“Oh, I didn’t know. Thanks so much… What would society do without Medical practitioners like you nurses and doctors?” Alexa praised.

“It’s OK. Just be careful with your brother. If you want him to live a fulfilled and long life, that is.” The nurse advised.

“Thank you. I will.” Alexa replied and gave the nurse a small smile.

The nurse smiled back politely and left.

“Actually…” Alexa started.

“He initially fixed fifteen hundred as my pay fee, but when he found out you’re a big fan of his, he increased it to twenty hundred.” Alexa completed.

“So basically, five hundred is mine?” Jace asked.

“Not really, but yeah. I’m going to be keeping it though.” Alexa said firmly.

“OM…” Jace started, but Alexa placed her hand over his mouth.

“You heard the nurse Jace, no more screaming. We don’t want to wake Blossom up, so let’s quiet down.” Alexa said and when Jace nodded, she gently unplaced her hand from Jace’s mouth.

“Wow… I’m so happy Lexie.” Jace exclaimed.

“Does that mean you’re no longer angry at me?” Alexa asked teary-eyed.

“I don’t know Alexa. I mean… I’m happy you heeded my advice at last, but I’m still mad at the fact that you hit me.” Jace said.

It still hurts anytime I relive it over and over in my head.” He said again, but this time sadly.

“I’m so sorry about that Jace. Believe me, I am.” Alexa apologized.

Then she did something shocking.

She knelt!

Alexa fucking knelt beside Jace!

Jace couldn’t believe his eyes.

He knew she was caring and would stop at nothing to make him feel good always, but her kneeling and apologizing to him was a first.

Jace decided if not for anything, that the fact she knelt was enough for him to forgive her for what happened and move on together.

“Lexie… You don’t have to kneel for me.”

“No Jace. I do.” Alexa said and tears started running down her cheeks.

“I’m sorry I hit you. I don’t know what came over me then, but I promise I won’t do it again.” Alexa said amidst tears.

Jace tried to get to her where she was on the floor, but he remembered he was tied to a drip fixed into his wrist vein.

Even as the realization hit him, he reached over as far as he could and placed his hand on Alexa’s face.

Alexa looked up at him.

Slowly, he dabbed her tears away with his fingers and gave her a huge grin.

“Gosh! You cry so damn hard. Now I have no choice but to forgive you.” Jace pouted faking a sulk.

Alexa felt like giggling.

She knew it wasn’t good that Jace knew how to change her emotions anytime he wanted because he could use it against her someday.

So, she suppressed the feeling of having a good laugh, but just one more look at Jace’s face was all it took.

She burst out laughing, but as loud as it was, it got cut off.

“Jace… This is not the time for jokes.”

She frowned after making sure her face was ridden of any sign of wanting to laugh or anything.

“I know you want to laugh though,” Jace mentioned and Alexa couldn’t help it anymore.

She crouched, threw cautions to the wind, and laughed all she wanted.

“There we are,” Jace said and both of them giggled.

“That was awesome. Thanks, Hun.” Alexa thanked.

“It’s fine.” Jace smiled.

After what seemed like 5 seconds of thinking, Jace spoke up again.

“I forgive you, Sis .”

“Really?”

“Of course. You’re too cute for me to stay angry at you forever .” Jace complimented.

“Thanks, babe.”

“It’s OK. I’m sorry for making you mad. If you hit me, that means you were extremely mad, and I caused that. So I’m sorry for that.” Jace apologized.

“It’s OK. I’m just glad you realized that I’m not a bad person.” Alexa said and both of them laughed loudly.

The door to the room opened and it was the nurse that warned them about being loud earlier.

She shot them a glare and Jace and Alexa nodded.

“Alexa, I think we have to learn to laugh quietly as well.” Jace bit his lip.

“I guess so,” Alexa replied.

As soon as the nurse left, they started laughing.

And this time…

Much more loudly!Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

….

Anderson sighed as he walked back to his bedroom after Alexa left and let himself down on the bed.

He replayed the incidents that happened in his head and couldn’t help but smile.

Wait!

He was smiling?

What the actual fvck?!

Why would he smile just at the thought of a girl?
