“Thank you,” Phoebe said as she took her seat.
“It’s alright,” April said.
Just then, Linda walked toward April’s table with a smoothie in her hand.
It was what April had asked for, and after what had happened earlier, April had made sure Linda served it herself.
“Here’s the smoothie you asked for. The deep-fries and tomato sauce will be ready in about 5 minutes.” Linda informed and April nodded.
Linda gently placed the smoothie on the table and walked away.
April grabbed the smoothie and drew it closer to herself. Soon, she was sipping it slowly. Glaring at the female in front of her, April’s lips curved in a smile.
She was Anderson’s ex.
According to what she heard, Phoebe dumped Anderson the day she was leaving for Britain.
The funny thing about it was she didn’t break the news of the split up to Anderson, till it was time for her to go into the lounge and take her flight.
Curious about the person sitting across from her, April decided to ask a question.
“I heard from Anderson that you left for Georgia, Britain.” April started and Phoebe nodded in the affirmative.
“Yeah, yeah I did,” Phoebe answered.
“When did you come back?” April asked.
“Yesterday. I stepped on American soil by 10 am.” Phoebe replied with a smile.
April took a long sip from her smoothie.
“Wow, does Anderson know?” She asked cunningly.
Phoebe gave a nervous smile and played with the hair at the back of her head.
“No, I don’t think he does.”
“Why? You didn’t tell him?” April gave a faraway eye look with her lips still on the smoothie straw.
“Yeah, I didn’t,” Phoebe answered.
She was sure April knew she split up with Anderson three years ago, why was she asking all these questions then?
Oh yeah!
She completely forgot!
April was one cunning human.
April wanted to taunt the lady sitting in front of her.
“But isn’t Anderson your fiance? Why didn’t you tell him you were coming back?” April asked.
Phoebe’s countenance changed, and her lips twitched.
“April…” She called out gently and April smirked.
“Yes, phoebe?” April answered in a way too polite than usual.
Her sudden politeness surprised Phoebe, but soon she regained her posture.
“Anderson and I split up don’t you remember?” Phoebe asked quietly.
“Oh did you guys split? I didn’t remember.” April lied.
“Well, now you do,” Phoebe replied.
“I’m curious. Who asked for the breakup?” April asked once more.
She was determined to make Phoebe regret meeting her, and it was working.
Phoebe understood what April was trying to do. April was trying to make her feel bad, but honestly… She wasn’t worried about that, because she had something played out in her mind
“I did.” Phoebe gave her answer with a slight smile.NôvelDrama.Org content.
“So literally, you dumped a Green?” April gave off a sly smile.
“You can say that. You Greens are not so untouchable after all.” Phoebe smirked.
Before April could reply, Linda showed up with April’s order.
“Here are your fries.”
“Drop it,” April ordered and Linda complied.
“Good, you can go now,” April said and Linda left.
“Why’s she serving you in the stead of a waitress or waiter?” Phoebe asked in surprise as soon as Linda had left.
“She’s getting punished as a result of what her employee did,” April replied dryly and dug into her fries.
“OK…”
“So, you were talking about my family not being untouchable huh?” April asked dryly.
“Yeah… I dumped a Green, that’s proof.” Phoebe replied fearlessly.
‘This girl has got some guts .’ April thought.
“Maybe… But we’re still like gods.” April proudly said.
“Well, small gods. They’re other known families yunno” Phoebe smirked.
“We’re No. 1,” April said pride dripping from her every word.
“Your family is only known when they list out the top fifteen… Am I right?” April asked slyly.
(Ouch! That hurt a lot.)
“What? Are you trying to insult my family?” Phoebe asked.
“Take it however you want hun.” April cooed and took a sip from her smoothie again.
“I’m not here to argue with you.” Phoebe started.
“Oh, Hun… You don’t know I wished you died on the plane.” April rolled her eyes.
“Why? We’re supposed to be friends. You hate Anderson, and I dumped him.” Phoebe stated confused.
“That’s why I hate you. It doesn’t matter if I hate my brother or not. The thing is that you toyed with my father’s name.” April said.
“I don’t care. I came back to New York for one thing… To get Anderson back. And you can’t stop that from happening.” Phoebe stated.
“Are you sure babe? Because I can kill you right now if I so wish.”
“Then try,” Phoebe smirked.
“Trying to make me as evil as you are? Oh please!” April sarcastically said.
“As evil as I am? It should be the other way around. Everyone knows you for the evil you do.” Phoebe said.
“I’m known as the Evil fairy, showing how beautiful and well-known I am. What are you known as?”
April asked, but just as phoebe was about to reply, she spoke again.
“Oh, I forgot. Your family’s only known when listing the top fifteen. I’m sure you’re not known.” April smirked.
“You bitch!” Phoebe yelled, picked up a few fries, and threw them at April.
With a smile sitting triumphantly on her face, she smirked.
“Now how does that feel?”
“That’s all you got?” April smiled too sweetly at her as she fixed her ruined hair.
Before Phoebe could reply, April stood up, picked up her tray of fries, and dumped the content on Phoebe’s head.
Too shocked to speak or do anything, Phoebe sat down and watched as April continued with dealing with her.
Picking up the cup of smoothie, she removed the lid and spilled the drink on Phoebe’s hair.
The pink, thick liquid stuck to Phoebe’s hair and dripped down her neck to her yellow shirt.
April looked down at Phoebe and smiled evilly.
“Suck it up loser.” She muttered, picked up her purse, and left.
She turned back to look at Phoebe after taking only three steps.
“One more thing… Stay. Away. From. My. Family. Especially Anderson!”
She spoke before leaving Phoebe to deal with the nosy and amused customers who were taking pictures of her humiliated self.
Linda quickly ran up to their table and picked up the sticky note on Phoebe’s hair that April had left her.
“I’ll send someone from my company to come to pay you up.”
The note read.
“So, that’s all that happened,” April said to Anderson.
“So you mean Phoebe is back?” Anderson asked surprised.
“Yes. I better get going.” April said as she stood up from the chair.
“Wait… Thanks.” Anderson muttered.
“For…?”
“For fighting for me,” Anderson replied.
“I didn’t fight for you. I fought because she insulted the name I share with you.” April corrected.
“Whatever.” Anderson gritted.
“Catch you later,” April said and walked out.
