Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

Anderson Questions (2)

“So I offered to take her home to make sure she was fine,” he lied.

“You did that! You? I’m shocked, Alexander. I never thought you had it in you to be nice to a complete stranger.” Anderson said.

“I’m not nice. And besides, my driver almost hit her so it was the only way that she wouldn’t make a scene.” Alexander said.

“So you decided to be a good Samaritan for the first time in your life.” Anderson said with a smile. “I’m impressed, Alex,” he added.

“Yeah whatever.” Alexander said.

“So you then decided to ask her to marry you right? Since you’ve observed her that she could be poor and desperate for money didn’t you. Because I know that you don’t just choose random people for your scheme, but you choose desperate ones who would do anything for you.” Anderson said.

“Probably, she’s ugly anyway, but she gave me a hard time before she accepted to marry me. She insulted me and spoke back at me. And honestly it was the first time anyone apart from you have spoken to me like that.” he said. “She called me a rude and annoying jerk!”

“She did! Wow! I think I like her. Because she got some guts and you need someone like that, Alexander.” Anderson said.

“Whatever….. I didn’t like the fact that she called me a jerk and you know, she never apologized for calling me that.” Alexander said with a frown on his face.

“Oh! I love her already. She’s one brave woman.” Anderson said, with a smile on his face.

Alexander chuckled and shook his head,

“I don’t know about liking her, but she’s definitely different.”

Mr. Anderson raised an eyebrow, “You may have just met your match, Alexander.”

Alexander smirked, “We’ll see about that.”

“I’m serious, Alex. You need someone like her who can look at you face to face and tell you the truth without holding back.” Anderson said.

Alexander, growing impatient, interrupted Mr. Anderson,

“Enough talk, Anderson. Just draft the contract and send it to my email by the end of the day.

I don’t want to keep that contract waiting for any longer. James Fernado is trying to get it, and I won’t let him beat me to it.”

Mr. Anderson understood the urgency in Alexander’s tone and nodded,

“Very well, Alexander. I’ll get it ready and send you the draft as soon as possible.”

“Alright.” Alexander said.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

“You may go now.”

As Anderson turned to leave, Alexander couldn’t help but wonder if he was making the right decision.

Sure, Marissa was unlike any woman he had ever met before, but was she really what he needed?

He knew he needed someone who could be honest with him, but would Marissa really be able to do that?

Or was she just another person who would be drawn in by his wealth and power? He couldn’t be sure, but he knew that he needed to be careful.

As he sat there, alone in his office, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

He decided to call her to set up a meeting for them to sign the contract once the contract was ready.

When he called her, and scheduled they meet, she told him that she was busy and didn’t have time until the following week which honestly pissed him off because she was acting all important because he needed her.

He sighed and agreed even though he knew that he normally does not agree to people’s terms but he found himself agreeing to her terms.

“She’s really getting on my nerves.” he said to himself.

He ended the call angrily because of it and sat down on his chair.

“Who the hell does she think she is to be dictating to me when we should meet and sign the contract? I should be calling the shots and not her!” he said to himself as he flinged his phone on his table.

Just then his phone began to ring and he checked the caller and realized that it was Marissa calling.

Has she realized that she should have listened to me? He thought.

Let me wait a while before I pick her call so I don’t look desperate like a hungry puppy.

Then he picked the call and was surprised when she asked to reschedule for them to see today after work to sign the contract.

He smiled and realized that he won. She was as desperate as he was. He agreed and ended the call immediately not to give her room to think he’s free and on her beck and call.

He sent the address of the location they should meet to sign the contract.

After he finished sending the text, he called his lawyer asking him if the contract was ready.

“Alexander, you’re so not a patient man. I just left your office not quite long and you’re already expecting the contract. You should get it before the closing hour.” he said.

“I’m expecting it in the next 30 minutes or expect to be replaced, Mr. Anderson.” he said and ended the call.

Alexander knew he was being demanding, but he couldn’t help it. This deal was too important to him, and he didn’t want to leave anything to chance. He needed to have the contract in hand before the day was over, or he would be very displeased.

As he sat there, waiting impatiently for the contract to arrive, he started to feel a sense of dread.

Something about this deal just didn’t feel right, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

He tried to push the feeling aside, but it only grew stronger the longer he waited.

What if Jessie finds out that he did a fake marriage just to secure a deal. Would she have pleaded with him?

He definitely didn’t think so, but he had no choice, if he wanted this deal so badly, he had to fight for it or James would get it and he had worked hard to get it so he is not gonna lose it to anyone especially to James Fernado.
