Chapter 24 The Jerk and Minx Got Together
Edmond had driven away initially.
However, the storm knocked down a few large trees along the neighborhood and blocked the road, so he had no choice but to return to the apartment. Edmond waited for a long time, yet the man had not exited the building after so long.
He saw that the light in Alicia's room was off from the window, and he could no longer hold back his curiosity.
Edmond got off the car and headed upstairs.
No other men's shoes were in the entryway when he entered the apartment.
A hint of relief passed through Edmond's heart.
But then he heard some commotion from the bedroom, and his heart sank again.
Why should he ask for it when he knew there might be evidence of cheating in there?
With a sullen expression, Edmond was about to turn around and leave when he suddenly heard a loud thud in the room, followed by Alicia wailing in pain.
"Ouch..." A groaning sound rang out.
Edmond immediately pushed open the door and entered the room.
He immediately saw Alicia curled up on the floor. Her face was pale, and she was whimpering.
His eyes narrowed, and he quickly went forward to pick Alicia off the ground, only to realize that her body was scorching hot.
"Are you having a fever?" Edmond asked.
Alicia was disoriented from the pain and burst into tears in his arms.
"The gastric pain is killing me..." Alicia murmured in pain.
Edmond at first planned to send Alicia to the hospital, but he suddenly recalled that the road was blocked.
He had no choice but to place her on the bed before rushing to the kitchen to check if he could get her any food.
He found the porridge in the thermos on the table was still warm.
Edmond carried the bowl of porridge back to the bedroom and carefully helped Alicia to sit up.
"It's hurt..." Alicia whimpered.
"Have some porridge." Edmond served it to her.
"Sob..." Alicia whined.
"Come on, be a good girl." Edmond coaxed.
Alicia was in pain until she almost lost consciousness.
Her stomach was aching, and her head was throbbing from the fever. Alicia was so dizzy that she could hardly open her eyes, and all she could do was whimper in pain.
In her dizziness, she felt someone holding her and feeding her porridge a sip at a time. Plus, a warm palm was rubbing her stomach slowly.
The embrace was very cozy.
Alicia nuzzled comfortably against it.
Then she heard the low reprimanding voice from Edmond.
"Stay still, and don't play with fire," Edmond warned.
Tsk.
Why did Edmond come to disturb her in her dream?
What a bummer.
After eating half a bowl of porridge, Alicia felt slightly better. Her head was still hurting, but she drifted to sleep straight away.
Edmond found that the antipyretics in Alicia's house were long expired, and he was livid.
"This woman is unbelievable." Edmond thought fumingly.
They could not leave the neighborhood right now, and without the help of medication, Edmond could only cover Alicia with a blanket to force her body to sweat.
However, he did not expect Alicia to continue shivering under the blanket without any sign of sweating, even after he had covered her up for a long time.
After finishing smoking his third piece of cigarette, Edmond returned to the room and realized that Alicia's fever seemed to be on the rise. In the end, he lowered his head and started unbuttoning his
shirt.
Alicia was sleeping when she suddenly felt a huge pressure pressing down on her. She tried to push it away from her body, but it returned a while later.
She half-opened her eyes and saw the burning gaze from Edmond.
"What are you trying to do?" Alicia asked confusedly.
"I'm trying to help you to bring down your fever," Edmond replied.
"Get off me! The fever will reduce after taking the medicine." Alicia rebutted.
Her voice was very weak, but she held onto her bottom line.
However, Edmond ignored her protest. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
"What is the use of the medicine? When we can do something more practical." Edmond coaxed.
Alicia could not win the argument against Edmond, and soon, he teased her so much that her breathing became heavier as she could no longer hold back.
When she tilted her head to nibble lightly on Edmond's neck, he spoke hoarsely and full of aggravation.
"You're such a little minx," Edmond commented.
Although Alicia had a fever and headache, her sense of principle forced her to stand up for herself immediately as she became enraged upon hearing Edmond's comment.
She grabbed Edmond's shoulder and bit down hard.
"You're such a jerk!" Alicia refuted.
It was raining heavily outside while an amorous charm filled the room.
Two hours later.
Alicia's fever had gone down.
Alicia stared at the ceiling and gasped for air while Edmond cleaned her body with a hot towel.
The flush on her face had not yet faded as she glared at Edmond.
"You are so shameless! Taking advantage of me!" Alicia accused.
Edmond resumed his uninhibited expression and smirked.
"Not bad. Your curses are loud and clear. Since you still have the energy, shall we have another round?" Edmond suggested teasingly.
