Making Millions With The Eyes Of God

Making 180

Making 180

When Claire noticed Sylas’s lingering gaze on her, she immediately recognized him as a pampered young man, most likely a playboy accustomed to flitting from one affair to the next.

However, since the Carter family currently needed the assistance of Star Gate, and considering Sylas was the heir to Start Gate’s leadership, she decided to remain courteous. She politely shook hands with Sylas, “No need for formalities, Mr. McLean.”

Only after Claire withdrew her hand did Sylas, somewhat reluctantly, release his grip.

At this point, Christopher proceeded to introduce Sylas to his wife, Miranda, and finally to Gilmore. “Mr. McLean, this is Gilmore, Claire’s boyfriend,”

Upon hearing that Gilmore was Claire’s significant other, Sylas’s gaze shifted, scrutinizing the man with newfound interest.

Though Gilmore was decent looking, in Sylas’s eyes, he wasn’t as handsome as himself.

And when it came to poise and demeanor, Sylas believed no one could match his own natural elegance.

After all, what was Sylas’s standing?

He was the heir to Oakhaven’s revered Star Gate.

Even prestigious families sought his favor and curried favor with him. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

While Star Gate might not be a traditional wealthy family, it held a status even loftier than most.

The martial arts experts of Star Gate were so skilled that wealthy families would vie to hire them, offering large sums of

money.

These martial arts experts became indispensable assets to the elite families.

And that was just the ordinary martial arts experts of Star Gate. The top internal force martialists from the sect were treated almost like deities when they entered these wealthy households.

Given this backdrop, it wasn’t surprising that Sylas looked down upon Gilmore.

He felt the man simply couldn’t compare to him.

And, in Sylas’s mind, Gilmore certainly wasn’t worthy of Claire, a woman of unparalleled beauty.

“Nice to meet you, Mr. McLean!” Gilmore, sensing the disdain in Sylas’s eyes, still greeted him with a smile and offered a handshak

It wasn’t that he wanted to show respect to Sylas, but rather he was showing respect for the sake of the Carter family.

Moreover, thanks to his God’s Eye, Gilmore witnessed the actions of Sylas after he arrived at the Carter residence. What he observed was that Sylas was incapable of anything-

Indeed, this heir to the Star Gate leadership was nothing more than an empty vessel.

Of course, Gilmore wouldn’t voice his observations.

After all, it’s rather rude to label someone as inept in their face.

And besides, no one would believe him even if he did.

Facing Gilmore’s extended hand, Sylas displayed a hint of arrogance, reluctantly shaking it.

He withdrew his hand in less than three seconds, as if repulsed by the touch.

His gaze then shifted back to Claire, and in an instant, his cold demeanor transformed into a gentlemanly smile. “Miss Carter,” he began, “this is my first time in Oakhaven. I’m not familiar with the local customs and sights. Would you be so kind as to show me around?”

Both Denton and Christopher, along with his wife Miranda, wore expressions of surprise.

They hadn’t anticipated that Sylas, upon arriving at their home, would immediately express a desire to explore the city with Claire.

Though he claimed it was to familiarize himself with the city, his eagerness seemed somewhat suspicious.

Being no strangers to reading between the lines, it was evident to Denton and Christopher that Sylas simply wanted to spend more time with Claire.

“Mr. McLean,” Denton began with a congenial tone, ‘you’ve just arrived. Why not come inside and have some coffee first? There’s no rush to explore the city. Once you’ve rested, we can have someone accompany you.”

Even though Sylas was the heir to the prestigious Star Gate, in Denton’s heart, Gilmore was the only suitable future son–in- Jaw for Claire

Therefore, he wouldn’t let Sylas get any ideas about his daughter.

Sylas seemed to realize he might have been a bit too forward. Nodding in agreement, he responded, “That sounds reasonable. I’ll rest for a bit and would also like to hear from Mr. Carter about the matters concerning the Black Hawks

experts.

“After we’ve discussed everything, Miss Carter can then accompany me to get a feel for the local culture and sights of the city.”

Clearly, Sylas couldn’t shake off the thought of having Claire accompany him, and he never missed a chance to mention her, Denton cast a concerned glance at Gilmore, worried that he might be upset.

However, Gilmore gave Denton a reassuring smile, “Mr. Carter, Mr. McLean is our guest. As hosts, it’s only right for Claire to introduce him to the city.”

Gilmore knew that even if Sylas had lofty aspirations, he couldn’t catch the moon from the water.

With him around, Claire would never give him the time of day.

Gilmore held onto that confidence.

Seeing Gilmore’s relaxed demeanor, Denton told Sylas, “Once we finish our discussion, Claire can take you to see the city’s sights.”

A bright smile formed on Sylas’s face at the thought of Claire’s company.

Denton–led–Sylas

Following that, Denton led Sylas and his entourage into the mansion.

After settling in the living room, Sylas addressed Denton, “My father mentioned that Mr. Carter was once a disciple of Star

cyc. Gate. Rest assured, if you’re in trouble, Star Gate will never turn a blind

“My men from Star Gate and I are here to settle this matter. Should the Black Hawks come looking for trouble, they won’t succeed.”

Denton’s face lit up with gratitude. “The grace of my master is heavier than a mountain. I will be forever grateful and never forget.”

“Christopher mentioned that the Black Hawk master named Lawrence, who falsely accused you of being a murderer, is hiding in the Weston family estate in this city?” Sylas inquired.

Denton nodded, “Yes, Lawrence, the Black Hawk master, slandered me as a murderer at a party a few days ago and even attacked me.”

Expressing his concerns, Denton continued, “I’m afraid that Lawrence might seek help from the Black Hawks and retaliate against the Carter family.”

With a calm look, Sylas replied, “Christopher briefed us on all this. Please be at case, Mr. Denton. With us around, the Black Hawks wouldn’t dare attack the Carter family.”

As he said this, Sylas cast a protective glance at Claire, as if assuring her that with him there, no one could harm her.

Claire, however, seemed oblivious to his hidden intentions.

Denton nodded appreciatively, “With your assurance, Mr. McLean, I feel much relieved.”

After chatting for a while, Sylas said to Denton, “Mr. Carter, don’t worry. Since I’m here, the Carter family will be safe.”

Then he stood up from the sofa, looking at Claire, “Miss Carter, shall we go explore the city’s scenery now?”

Claire, albeit reluctantly, squeezed out a polite smile for the sake of her family’s needs, “Of course! I’ll show you around now, Mr. McLean.”

Denton, Claire, Christopher and his wife, Gilmore, and the rest saw off Sylas and his entourage.

Claire boarded an extended Rolls–Royce, and Sylas, along with other Star Gate martial arts experts, got into their respective

Cars.

In no time, the vehicles left the Carters‘ mansion.
