Love Redux: Fated to the Handsome Doctor

Part 56 # Olivia’s Threat

Olivia immediately contacted Seno using her ghost phone. Seno forbade her from contacting him privately to deceive Lara. Olivia didn’t run out of ways. The woman quickly called Seno and demanded her promise.

“What did you say?!” Olivia was startled. Seno had truly changed!

“This is the last time I’ll take your calls, Olivia! After this, there will be no more romantic relationship between you and me! Do you understand?!” Seno severed ties with his mistress.

“W-what?!” Olivia yelled angrily. “You can’t end the relationship unilaterally like this, Seno!” she shouted.

“Why not?” Seno retorted. He seemed ready to face all the consequences of his actions.

“I-I will expose our affair!” Olivia threatened without thinking maturely.

“Oh yeah? Go ahead if you want to dig your own grave. Do you think the media will listen to the ramblings of a crazy woman?” Seno seemed fearless. Olivia was stunned. She was at a loss.

“You-!”

“That’s enough! I’ve already sent US$ 50, 000. That’s the last fund for you. Don’t contact me again, and yes, you’re fired!” Seno ended the call. Olivia growled in anger and smashed the phone until it was shattered.

“Seno! You jerk!”

The US$ 50, 000 funds were not enough as retirement money and also separation costs. Olivia wanted more. Even if it meant being in hell with Seno Adhijaya.

Meanwhile, Seno was with Lara. Not because of his role as a true husband that led him to end his secret relationship with his mistress. It was all purely because Seno had to focus on the development of illegal drugs that had already seeped into his body.

“Damn!” he grumbled angrily. However, Seno was grateful; at least, his masculinity had improved. Recently, the drug showing contraindication symptoms could be successfully balanced.

Amazingly, it was all thanks to his antibodies. Madam X was not wrong in recruiting human guinea pigs like Seno. Only one step left, finding an antidote. It was Lara’s task as the breeder.

“Seno, are you awake?” Lara rubbed her eyes. At this early hour, she often woke up unconsciously. The increasing size of her belly made it difficult for her to sleep soundly. The frequency of urination became frequent, and Lara often felt overheated.

“Ah, yes, there was a call from the office,” Seno lied. He didn’t want to bring up Olivia’s issue anymore. For him, she was already eliminated from his life.

“Oh really?” Lara seemed incredulous, but she chose to trust her husband. Lara had to guard her heart and feelings because soon, her delivery day would arrive.

“Do you want anything?” Seno tried to win Lara’s heart.

“Ah, no. I just woke up,” Lara said with a soft smile towards her husband. “Maybe just a glass of plain water,” she added later.

Seno nodded. He immediately walked to the door to fetch a pitcher of water and poured it into a glass. “Here,” he said, handing the glass to Lara. She accepted it with joy. Seno had returned to his old self.

“H-how have you been lately?” Lara started the conversation. She knew Seno was hiding a lot of things. She didn’t want to interfere too much or seem like she was investigating a criminal.

“Ah, yes… I’ve been improving,” Seno replied, biting his lower lip. He had to control himself. Seno couldn’t get carried away. His relationship with Lara was purely business, although… Lara was very beautiful, both in appearance and heart.

Seno couldn’t have Lara completely. He was bound by a work contract that gave him fantastic wealth and popularity like a famous celebrity. Seno would achieve it. Soon. Of course… all with Lara’s help.

“Actually, what’s been happening to you, Seno?” Lara just wanted to know the cause of her husband’s pain. She looked at Seno with gentle eyes, not judgmental. But Seno refused to reveal his secrets.

“Just a little complication. You know, age stuff, Lara. You don’t need to worry,” Seno replied with a forced smile. Although he was lying, Seno didn’t want to be harsh to Lara. He had to win his wife’s heart to smooth out all his plans.

“Okay,” Lara finally didn’t discuss anything. She lay back down and tried to close her eyes. Although her heart and mind were still filled with questions, Lara kept them to herself. She didn’t want to be seen as a nagging woman or a wife who didn’t know the boundaries in a marriage.

Seno sighed deeply. He turned off the desk lamp and lay down beside Lara. His mind wandered, imagining all the success he would achieve. Seno didn’t care too much if it hurt Lara. After all, Lara had enjoyed the wealth he had produced.

“No success is achieved with empty hands, Lara. None. Everything has its sacrifices….”

The next day, Seno seemed normal, as usual. He went to the office and bid farewell to Lara. Meanwhile, Lara prepared to attend a reunion event held in the lobby of Hotel X at 11 a. m.

“Who’s taking Mom?” Melati asked when she saw Lara was ready in the blue dress she had ordered some time ago.

“Ah, the driver will take me, Mela. But, I want to come back as soon as possible. Don’t worry about me,” Lara replied while making sure her bag was complete.

“Okay, Mom. Don’t forget to take care of yourself and be careful when you’re outside,” Melati said with concern.

Lara smiled and nodded, “Thank you, Mela. I’ll be back soon after the event.” She felt happy to get out of the silence of her home for a while.

Meanwhile, at the office, Seno was staring at the monitor screen with a serious expression. His mind was focused on the project of developing illegal drugs he was running. After the incident some time ago, Seno became more committed to completing this project and closing it with tremendous success.

But who would have thought? His plan was not going too smoothly thanks to the fire he had ignited himself.

“Hello?” Seno answered the phone on his desk. One of his secretaries asked him to answer the important call. However, Seno never answered the phone if it wasn’t work-related.

“Yes, speak.”

“Do you think I’ll fall alone, Seno? You’re dead wrong! I will demand revenge for your cruel treatment!” Olivia threatened with burning determination.

“What do you mean? Do you know who you’re talking to, Olivia?!” Seno reprimanded, not wanting to lose.

“I-I will expose all of your secret projects!” Olivia insisted on not plunging into the abyss of despair without a companion.

Seno growled angrily. “What do you know?!” he asked a little panicked. He never discussed the secret project with Olivia. For him, Olivia was just a toy that could be thrown away anytime, not a business partner to work with.

“Do you think I don’t have an ace card? You were really chatty when you were drunk! Do you know that?” Olivia smiled sardonically, although it wasn’t visible. She felt like she was on top of the world. Olivia could hear that Seno’s voice was not in good shape. The man felt a little shaken.

“Listen…” Seno finally softened his tone. “Let’s talk,” he invited in a friendly tone.

This time, Olivia truly won. Seno was in her grip. “Be my partner at the reunion this afternoon. I have a campus event. We can talk after the event,” Olivia said coldly. She didn’t accept rejection.

“W-what do you mean? That’s Lara’s campus event, right? Are you insane?!”Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yes! I am insane! And if you don’t come… then be ready to see your name on the front page of the newspaper tomorrow morning!”

“OLIVIA!”
