Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 293

Chapter 293

Cordelia stood silently, a flicker of discomfort crossing her face as Everard spoke. It was odd, considering she'd been on medication to suppress her "die-if-not-in-love" condition. It shouldn't be acting up now.

Without dwelling on it, she asked, "Where does it hurt? Should we head to the hospital?"RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Everard shook his head, "No need. It's just a superficial wound. I've bandaged it and applied some ointment. It just hurts a lot."

Cordelia's eyes widened with urgency, "What do we do then?"

Everard replied slowly, "A kiss from you would make it all better."

Cordelia was puzzled, "Why?"

"You're my painkiller," Everard quipped.

Cordelia was taken aback. Even someone as dense as her should have caught the teasing tone, but she didn't. Given the bizarre events that seemed to follow her, the idea didn't seem too far-fetched. Maybe she really was Everard's painkiller?

So, she asked seriously, "Where should I kiss you?"

Everard was momentarily speechless. He'd only meant to flirt a bit, but Cordelia's innocence made him feel a bit guilty!

Even Bill, who had followed Everard, found it hard to watch. When had his boss become so shameless? And Cordelia, so naive to believe it? Standing by the door, Bill heard Everard say, "A peck on the forehead would help a little, but a proper kiss would take all the pain away."

As soon as he finished speaking, Cordelia gently pushed him down into a chair. Now seated, he was slightly shorter than her. Cordelia leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips.

Despite the action, Cordelia remained as calm as if she were completing a task, lacking any hint of the sweetness typically found in a romantic relationship.

Everard was speechless.

Afterward, Cordelia earnestly asked, "Is it better now?"

Everard, keeping his cool, replied, "Yes, but the effect only lasts a day. I'll need a kiss daily until I'm fully healed."

Cordelia frowned, slightly troubled, "Alright then."

With that, she walked over to the breakfast table.

Everard sat by the counter, touching his lips thoughtfully. The kiss felt bland to him.

Chasing her affection was proving to be a challenge!

Bill quietly set the breakfast table,

Everard glanced at him dismissively. If it hadn't been for saving Bill, he wouldn't have gotten his enemy's blood on him in the first place!

Indeed, he wasn't injured at all. The blood on his shoulder was from his adversary!

Everard, who was usually a stickler for cleanliness, found himself oddly okay with it now. But he sighed, "She's too inexperienced with love. Needs guidance."

Bill struggled to keep a straight face, "It's not like we're acting in a play here."

Everard, however, seemed intrigued by the idea.

When Cordelia arrived at school, she saw Little Flame waiting at the entrance again. He handed her his homework from the previous day and mentioned needing help with a few questions.

Cordelia nodded, promising to explain during study hall, and handed him the day's study materials.

Little Flame, with his distinctive red hair, looked worn out, likely still shaken from yesterday's car accident. He limped slightly, indicating he was injured.

As they parted ways, he told Cordelia, "If my bro texts you asking about me, don't mention the accident."

Cordelia was puzzled but agreed.

It had been half a month since she returned from Ontoky City. Floyd occasionally texted her to check on Little Flame.

In class, Cordelia ignored the usual chatter and gossip, focusing instead on her friend Merry, who was diligently studying amidst whispers of jealousy.

The first lesson was English, and Juliana, the class representative, had already distributed the test papers before it began.

When the papers were handed to Cordelia, her face was a storm cloud, and she remained silent. It was clear the spat with Hanley the previous day had left a sour taste. Tossing the papers onto Cordelia's desk, she moved over to Merry's table with a sneer, "Exams are just around the corner, and where's Merry? With her attitude towards studies, she dreams of getting into the Ontoky City Film and Animation Academy? Dreaming of rubbing shoulders with A-listers? She must be living in a fantasy!"

Right on cue, Merry's phone, hidden in her drawer, started to ring, the screen flashing a video call from her brother.

Juliana snatched up the phone, "Bringing phones to school now, are we? I ought to report this to the teacher and have it confiscated!"

Cordelia frowned, about to intervene, but Merry had already rushed back, panic written all over her face at the unique ringtone, "What are you doing with my phone? Give it back!"

Seeing Merry's reaction, Juliana

lifted the phone higher, teasing, "Why the rush? Is this call that important? It says 'Brother' here, but you only have a twin sister. Where's this brother coming from? Don't tell meit's your 'boyfriend' in a sweet nickname?"

With those words, she pretended to accidentally hit the answer button, "Oops, my bad, accidentally touched it. Let's see who this 'brother' of yours really is?!"
