Chapter 203
Chapter 203
Floyd furrowed his brows, his expression cold and distant. "No need for your concern. If you don't mind, please leave."
But Wade didn't budge. Instead, he leaned against the back of Floyd's chair, grinning. "In our line of work, top-tier shooters are rare gems, and with the transfer window closed, finding a good one is like searching for a needle in a haystack. How about I recommend someone? Ever heard of the Lone Ranger from the national server?"
Yates, who had been sitting quietly, slowly lifted his head to look at him.
Cordelia and Everard exchanged glances before their attention also shifted to Yates.
Merry's gaze swept over Yates and then back to Floyd, blinking thoughtfully.
Being a public figure and an esports star, it was no secret to Yates that Floyd was the brother he hadn't sought out until today. Had Yates come because he knew Floyd was in need of a shooter?
No, that couldn't be it...
Yates remained stoic, his defiant demeanor written all across his face.
Wade seemed oblivious to the tension, chuckling, "That Lone Ranger has been dominating as a shooter for five years now, currently the top in the national server! Many teams have invited him, but he's turned them all down."
"I heard the guy's a real-life Richie Rich, sinking millions into the game over the years. His family would never agree to him joining the esports scene, not when there's a fortune waiting for him at home. Even if he dips his toes in esports, he's out to make a splash. Why would he settle for a struggling team like yours?"
Finishing his piece, Wade laughed, "See, I'm making sense, right? So, don't get your hopes up on the Lone Ranger. Why not... rely on yourself? You're versatile, aren't you? Your new jungler's decent, so why not switch to being a shooter?"
Wade paused, adding mockingly, "Oh, but you can't play as a shooter! The Almighty Versatile King who's never touched the shooter role. How can you claim to be all-rounded?"
Wade had always been envious of Floyd's success and charm. Without Floyd, he'd be the star of the esports world.
Now, with Floyd being more popular and his team reigning as champions, Wade felt overshadowed.
As the accusation of Floyd's inability to play as a shooter was thrown into the mix, Yates's gaze intensified on Floyd.
Floyd remained silent, waiting for Wade to finish before finally saying, "Would you like to leave on your own, or shall I have the waiter escort you out?" Wade sneered maliciously, "Come on, bro, don't be like that. I'm just looking out for you. Heard you've poured your life savings into the EW Club? Must be tight on money now. Want me to cover this meal for you?"
After investors pulled out and endorsements were canceled, EW Club was on the brink of collapse. If not for Floyd selling his house to save the club, it would have likely disbanded.
Before Floyd could respond, a black credit card slammed onto the table.
Wade turned to see a young man with fiery red hair sitting nonchalantly, his rebellious aura unmistakable. "Trying to buy me dinner? You think you're worthy?"
That black card... one of only five hundred in the world!
It signified unlimited credit and a family fortune of at least ten billion!
Wade was stunned, his gaze flipping between Floyd and the red-haired young man. Swallowing hard, he chuckled, "Bro, you dining withBelonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

If Floyd had such wealthy connections, a flick of the wrist could easily solve the club's financial woes.
Wade, trying to save face, smiled, "Interested in our club?"
Yates lifted his gaze, "Your CM club?"
"Yes, yes!"
As Wade started to approach, Yates suddenly stood up, coolly putting a hand on Wade's shoulder. "Let's have a chat."

Yates scoffed, smacking his face lightly, "Do you know what role the God of Gaming excels in?"
Wade was dumbfounded.
Floyd, known for his versatility, could play any role to perfection except for the shooter.
Yates didn't wait for an answer, declaring, "The God of Gaming's best at being a shooter. Remember that."
"The best shooter?" Wade was in disbelief.
Yates insisted, "Why not? He's not playing as a shooter because he promised me he'd never touch the role again." Confused, Wade could only nod, "Got it, just let me go!"
Yates didn't release him immediately, instead mocking, "Remember, your Godfather will always be your Godfather!" After delivering his message, Yates kicked Wade out, leaving no room for argument.
Facing someone with a black card meant trouble, and despite his anger, Wade had no choice but to scamper away.
After shooing Wade away, Yates

Merry had just laid out her suspicions when her gaze shifted to Yates. "Yates, what did Wade want to chat about?"
Yates glanced at Floyd briefly before he replied, "Oh, he was wondering if I'd be interested in joining their team as a shooter." Merry's curiosity was piqued. "So, are you considering it?"
