Chapter 8: Giving Me a Warning
Chapter 8: Giving Me a Warning
The bluntness of his actions made my heart race. At the same time, I felt humiliated.
Though we had slept together on many occasions, things were different now. We were no longer in a
relationship, yet he was forcing me into this.
"Leonard, you can't treat me like this! I can report you to the police!"
I warned him as I felt his hands teasing me.
"The police? Queena, you brought this upon yourself!" With that, he pressed his lips to mine.
I continued to struggle, but I could not break free. In my panic, I bit his lip hard.
...
Leonard hissed with pain and broke away from me instantly. There was a slight streak of blood on his
lip. He looked at me furiously.
"Are you a dog? Have you forgotten how much you enjoyed being under me? Stop pretending to be so
innocent!"
"Leonard, you need to remember that we used to be friends with benefits, but we're not anymore. I'm
not some tool that you can use to alleviate your sexual desires!"
"Since there's nothing between us, why were you following me? You know that I'm no gentleman.
There's no way I'll allow my prey to get away!" he said fiercely.
"It was just a bit of fun..."
I fibbed, not wanting him to see through me.
There was no way I could give up so easily now that I had set my mind to causing trouble for him and
Phoebe.
Perhaps my adamant resistance finally got through to him. Leonard stood up and glanced at me
condescendingly.
"I know how things between you and Phoebe, Queena. I've also got a pretty good idea of what's going
on at the Jones family. You're planning on using me to get revenge, aren't you?"
I had to admit that Leonard was extremely clever. He had already guessed what I was up to even
though I had yet to actually do anything.
To be honest, I was shocked as well. It was fortunate that he was not my actual enemy, or I would be
running headfirst into defeat.
However, I did not feel nervous. I believed that he would not rat me out, at least for the time being.
"Don't you think you're overestimating me? How can I go up against a whole family when I'm all alone?"
I said as calmly as I could.
Leonard appraised me, then scoffed. "Ability and ambition are two different things. Your ambition is
written all over your face."
...
I was lost for words.
"Whatever it is, you'd better minding your own business. There are some things that you can't do, like
running your mouth off to Phoebe about us," he continued leisurely.
He made things sound so simple. How could I give up so easily?
Gail had taken my father away from my mother, leading to her taking her own life. My father, on the Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
other hand, had completely disregarded our relationship to take Gail's side and give me a beating.
As for Phoebe, why did she have to go for my man? How could I stand for this?
I really wanted to ask Leonard whether he would be able to give everything up if he were in my
shoes.
