Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Margaret held a plate of instant pasta and blew on it blatantly. She felt sorry to order takeout on such a rainy day, as it would trouble the delivery man too much. Meanwhile, she only had instant pasta left in the refrigerator, so she could only make do with it.
The instant pasta was convenient and could be ready in a few minutes, but it was too hot. For someone who was starving, this was a form of
torture.
The delicious food was less than eight inches away from Margaret, but she could only stare at it while her stomach growled nonstop,
Margaret thought of the dreamy life of a married person as described by her best friend, Luciana Mortimer, where her husband served food at an appropriate temperature for consumption as soon as she returned home. She also wanted to eat delicious food as soon as she entered the house.
While Margaret was immersed in the fantasy of delicious food, a rapid and rude knock on the door interrupted her imagination. At the same time, her heartbeat sped up.
Instantly, images from “Memories of Murder” and “The Rain Killer” surfaced in Margaret’s mind. The fear of a woman who lived alone made her shrink deeper into the couch.
Meanwhile, the knocking on the door continued as if that person would not stop until Margaret answered it.
Margaret searched around the living room and saw the only thing that could be used as a weapon, a mop. It was the only stick in her house.
She decided if she survived this round, she would purchase a baseball bat, which was more lethal C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

the door!” As soon as she quietly walked to the door, Margaret heard a violent shout. It was a familiar voice. Then, Margaret’s mood suddenly changed from fear to anger.
She wondered, ‘Is Compton Group going bankrupt? Why is its general manager, Gideon, so free and travel such a long way on a rainy day to
scare me?‘
Margaret found her earplugs and decided to ignore him.
Gideon was not someone who knew when to give up. After knocking for two minutes and getting no response, he called a locksmith
company.
The locksmith was cautious. They did not open the lock for Gideon upon arrival but only did it after asking a round of questions and buying
his excuse.
If Margaret had seen and heard the touching words Gideon told the locksmith, she would have filmed it and made it into a short documentary to participate in the Oscar contest. Gideon would absolutely win as the best actor.
While Margaret was humming along to the music happily and taking a hot bath in the bathroom, Gideon thanked the locksmith sincerely and entered the house in contentment.
With the sound of water running in the bathroom and the music playing, Margaret did not hear the door opening and closing.
“Ah!” Margaret screamed. She could swear that she had not screamed like that in ten years, but she couldn’t help it when she saw the man on the couch as she came out of the room in a bathrobe and was about to watch the television.
Margaret shouted with all her strength as if she wanted to attract the attention of the whole building. She did not stop until she was almost
out of breath.
“Why are you at my house?” Margaret’asked loudly. She looked at the door, which stood there intact without any trace of violent break–in.
Margaret’s eyes narrowed slightly. She wondered, ‘Did he get the key to my house from somewhere? It seems that moving away is inevitable
“Isn’t your home mine too?” Gideon was still angry, but the after–a–bath Margaret could almost erase all his distress.
Over the years, no woman other than Margaret could ignite Gideon’s desire so quickly.
Although Margaret was still wearing a bathrobe, Gideon knew her habits too well. There must be nothing under the rose–pink bathrobe.
Based on his memories and imagination alone, Gideon almost lost control of himself. He could not help but mock himself internally, Why am
I acting like a sex addict?”
“Gideon, you’ve gone too farl” Margaret was really angry. Whoever he was, Gideon had no right to break into her house.
