Chapter 374 What A Coincidence (Part One)
Chapter 374 What A Coincidence (Part One)
Terence was staying at his Seaview Villa in JA City.
He was just leisurely reading a book in the study when he sneezed all of a sudden. Looking up at the
clock to check the time, he realized that it was already eleven o'clock in the evening. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
He unlocked his phone, only to find out that Carla still hadn't replied to any of his texts at all. Right then
and there, a smile slowly crept onto his face as he helplessly shook his head thinking that she was,
without a doubt, still holding a grudge against him.
Actually, he had sent her a couple of messages already, and yet she was still being so stubborn, not
bothering to give him so much as a single response.
It took the best of him just to resist the urge to call her. He was afraid that if Noah were to hear the call,
he might get the wrong impression and Carla would end up getting in trouble. All things considered,
she wasn't by herself, so her safety should be his top priority.
"Mr. Terence, some news coming from HA City arrives."
Rainer could tell that he hadn't fallen asleep yet, given that there was still a light on in the study. So, he
decided to come in and give some updates to his boss.
"What's it about?" After seemingly being lost in thought, Terence immediately came to his senses and
turned to look at Rainer who was approaching him.
"Miss Carla has achieved great success in the Hua Group, Mr. Terence. And things went on much
more smoothly than we have anticipated. As soon as Miss Carla's proposal was implemented, they've
seen a significant improvement in their sales."
A wide grin appeared on Rainer's face as he was informing his boss about the good news.
Terence didn't seem to be much too astounded by it. With a Cheshire cat smile on his face, he proudly
remarked, "It's hardly surprising at all. This is my girl we're talking about after all. She has this sort of
ability and potential. I knew it all along."
As his boss was wallowing in his knack for finding the potential of other people, Rainer quietly lowered
his gaze.
He pondered to himself, 'Just who was it that has kept on saying that Miss Carla is silly?
In spite of that, even though he believes Miss Carla to be a bit foolish, not once has Mr. Terence ever
thought of giving up on her. And now he is actually even feeling very proud of her. It's quite amusing!'
From out of the blue, something seemed to have popped up in his mind and he turned serious in an
instant. He anxiously added, "Apart from that, Nola has told us over the phone that Noah was already
aware of the fact that Miss Carla was carrying a child in her womb."
As soon as Rainer stopped talking, Terence heavily slammed his hands onto the table and went into a
fit of rage. With his eyebrows deeply knitted, he asked, "What do you mean? Noah already knew?
Then, how is Carla doing right now? Is she alright? Get the plane ready for me right away. I have to fly
to look for her and make sure she's safe."
At that point, Terence had become so frantic about Carla's safety. Only God knew what Noah could end
up doing to Carla after finding out that she was pregnant. In Terence's mind, Noah wasn't a nice person
in any way. And he truly believed that Noah was capable of hurting Carla.
"Mr. Terence, please get a hold of yourself. You don't have to worry. There's something else I have to
tell you."
Rainer tried to stop Terence from getting so worked up and acting on impulse. Then, he went on and
added, "That may be the case, but Noah was under the assumption that the child inside Miss Carla
was actually his. He hasn't done anything to inflict harm upon her. On the contrary, he has even been
treating Miss Carla with much more love and kindness because of it."
It was a bit hard to tell what was going on in Rainer's mind as he explained the situation to his boss.
But, the moment Terence heard Rainer's explanation, he felt his stomach churn in utter disgust, as
though he had swallowed a fly. He thought to himself, 'That's unthinkable! What on earth does Rainer
mean by saying that Noah thinks the child is actually his? How could that possibly be? Where did he
get the nerve to get such a stupid idea?
Why would he even think that?'
"Have you forgotten that you were the one who planned this all along, Mr. Terence? You managed to
fool Noah into thinking that the woman he spent the night with in the underground restaurant was
actually Miss Carla,"
Rainer calmly reminded him of the fact like he was so sure that his boss had really forgotten all about it.
Terence rested his hand on his chin and had something in mind after Rainer jogged his memory. He
came to the sudden realization that Noah might've mistakenly believed that the woman he slept with
was Carla, and that Carla happened to have gotten pregnant during that same night.
So, it made sense for him to think that the child inside Carla's belly was truly his.
In any case, no one would've ever expected for something like that to happen.
"Ask Nola to tell Carla something for me, Rainer. Tell her to remain composed and not to tell Noah the
truth about the child no matter what, even out of the kindness of her heart. Now that Noah has found
out that she was expecting, we have to keep him from discovering the truth at all costs!"
Terence instructed him what to do next after giving it much thought. Despite how reluctant he was to let
Noah falsely believe that the child was his, he had no choice but to consider the situation Carla and his
child were facing. So, this was probably the best course of action to take to ensure their safety.
They still had to go through a lot before they could finally be able to enjoy a bright and happy future
together.
When all of their hardships had come to pass, Terence knew that he was the only person who could
take care of his future wife and child. But for that to happen, he had to sit patiently and bide his time.
"Of course, Mr. Terence. I will call Nola straight away and relay your message to her just as you said."
After telling him that, he walked out of the study and went to do as he was told.
When Rainer was nowhere in sight, Terence tilted his head and peered at all of the names he had
written on a piece of paper. He couldn't stop himself from laughing quite audibly upon realizing that he
had come up with all of those possible names for his child.
On that piece of paper, there were more names for girls compared with boys. It had always mostly
been boys given birth in the An family while girls were too few and far between. With that in mind, if the
child Carla was expecting happened to be a girl, then both he and his grandfather would certainly be
pleased.
After looking at the names written on the paper for a decent amount of time, he put it away and
carefully placed it inside the drawer.
He was having a hard time trying to decide which name to call his child, so he thought that he should
just ask Carla to go through the names he had thought of and pick whichever she liked the best.
