Chapter 353 Carla's Trick (Part Two)
Chapter 353 Carla's Trick (Part Two)
The two of us, even York, should all work side by side. We should do what we can to get rid of Carla
and drag her out of our family instead of lending her a hand in securing a position in the Hua Group!"
Bonnie said all of that while walking closer to him, grabbing his arm and shaking it in frustration.
"Noah... Just recently, I overheard Mother and Carla have a conversation! Do you have any idea what
they were talking about? Mother and Carla were on the same side. They were plotting against you and
trying to find a way to stop you from being the president of the company!
Noah, now that you know the two of them are determined to keep you from being the head of this
company, you are free to do as you please and eliminate Carla without giving her any chance to take
your place. You can do that without even breaking a sweat given your influence in the Hua Group at the
moment. But why are you still trying to defend her?"
Turning his back on her, Noah gently closed his eyes and said, "Bonnie, I'm well aware of what I'm
doing right now. Things are not as simple as you make them out to be."
"Noah, please don't tell me that you're doing all of this because you want to marry that woman," Bonnie
anxiously asked.
Then, she gave him a scornful look, furrowing her eyebrows. "No, please don't say that you've really
fallen in love with her!
Noah, you shouldn't have feelings for that girl! Because no matter what you say or do, she's still so in
love with Terence even now! Even if you were to end up getting married, there's no way for you to
make sure that she would be faithful to you in the future!"
Bonnie exclaimed, wanting to wake him up from the illusion that he seemed to be in.
After all, she had dealt with Terrence before, so she had some idea of what kind of man Terence was.
She believed that as long as Terence still had feelings for Carla, he would gladly go to great lengths
just to be with her and he wouldn't mind it even if she married to another man.
Upon hearing what Bonnie had said, Noah couldn't help but frown a little. Truth be told, he had also
been asking that question to himself for a number of times. He couldn't be so sure about that Carla
wouldn't cheat on him even when they got married.
"Shut your mouth, Bonnie! She's my fiancee now, so have some decency and stop saying rude things
about her!" Noah cut Bonnie off. In spite of not having any confidence in how Carla felt about him, he
just couldn't stay silent as someone kept on disrespecting her.
"Noah, have you gotten so consumed by your feelings for her? For goodness' sake! You can't fall in
love with this woman, let alone marry her! Please stop getting in my way from now on! And just let me
continue doing what I've been doing and stay in the company! I'll do everything in my power to torment
her until the time when she finally gives up and leaves the company on her own!"
As soon as she was done blabbering, Noah, seemingly fuming with intense rage, turned around all of a
sudden and grabbed her neck with his hand.
"Bonnie, I'm only going to tell you this one last time, so listen closely! If you do anything to hurt her
again, I'll personally see to it that you're kicked out of the Hua family! As for the five percent stock that
you have, you should make damn sure that I'm gonna take that away from you as well!"
Boiling with anger, he loosened his grip and walked out of the office.
Bonnie was then left alone inside Noah's office. Grasping her neck, she coughed continuously as she
tried to catch her breath, watching Noah exit the room with tears rolling down her face.
She thought, 'Noah, are you so obsessed with her to such an extent that you would resort to doing
something like this?
She's going to destroy you! I'm sure of it! She will definitely destroy you one of these days!'
As all of that was happening, Carla was completely oblivious and still resting in the lounge.
She ate the snacks served to her by the secretary and drank water every now and then.
Because of that, when Noah finally showed up again, he saw her merrily eating by herself.
When Carla noticed Noah coming in, she wiped the crumbs on her mouth right away and blurted out, "I
just ran for a long time, so I'm a little starving now."
Looking like she had something in mind, she added, "Well... Noah, please don't get so mad at Bonnie. I
understand what she's feeling. And I can sympathize with her to some degree. It's like I've taken a lot
of things she held dear, like her identity and Mother's affection for her.
Whenever I think about those things, I would always tell myself that I shouldn't hate her. So please
don't blame her."
In all honesty, she only said what she truly felt.
Carla could tell what Bonnie wanted even from the start, what she was so upset about, what she felt so
sad about, and what she had been working hard for. For that very reason, there was no hatred in her
heart. All she had left was sympathy for Bonnie.
It was somewhat akin to watching a person fall into a cliff. Even if that person were to say something
bad to you, there was no way you could get to be mad at her.
Upon hearing Carla's thoughts about the matter, Noah actually felt quite at ease. He walked over
toward her and checked her leg. "How does your leg feel? Does it still hurt? Do you want me to come Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
to the hospital with you so we could have it examined?"
Shaking her head, Carla gently smiled at him and said, "It doesn't hurt, really. I'm just a little hungry.
That's all."
"Well, it's already noon. How's about I take you to lunch?" Noah invited her after checking what time it
was. As he was helping her get up, Carla began to talk again.
"Noah, did you forget that you've promised me a sumptuous meal tonight? Is this lunch going to affect
our slap-up meal?"
Carla asked him directly, wearing a playful smile on her face and blinking her eyes.
"Of course not,"
Noah happily answered as a smile crept onto his face. When he looked at how Carla was not upset in
any way and instead, saw how positive she was being even after what she had just been though, he
felt guilty and conflicted at the same time.
He felt guilty that he didn't do anything to protect her.
And the reason why he was feeling so conflicted was that he found himself utterly unable to control his
own heart...
