Chapter 1263: The Killer Shall Be Killed
Chapter 1263: The Killer Shall Be Killed
At the same time, a waiter disguised as Fantom entered the private room. Fantom looked at Esther and asked with a smile, "Miss, what kind of drink would you like?"
Esther waved her hand and said, "Sorry, I don't like alcohol." It had to be said, Fantom's disguise was impressive; Esther didn't suspect a thing.
Just then, Harold Jefferson stepped in front of Esther, glaring coldly at Fantom. "Please leave!" he demanded.
Seeing Harold Jefferson, Fantom frowned. Esther asked curiously, "Harold, what are you doing?"
Harold Jefferson replied, "Mrs. Shelby, Mr. Shelby instructed me to protect you, so I won't allow anyone to come near you."
"In that case, I'll leave," Fantom said with a forced smile and turned to go.
In the surveillance room, Chris Shelby watched the screen with a cold smile. No wonder Fantom was ranked among the top ten assassins in the Assassin Alliance; his disguise and acting were both superb.
Suddenly, Chris Shelby saw Esther stand up and prepare to leave. "Huh? Where is Esther going?" His face changed dramatically.
Seeing Esther about to leave, Harold Jefferson immediately followed her. Esther turned to him and said, "Harold, I'm just going to the restroom; you don't need to follow me."
Harold Jefferson looked troubled. "Mrs. Shelby, but Mr. Shelby told me to protect you at all times."
Esther sighed, "It's nothing serious; I'm just going to the restroom."
"Alright," Harold Jefferson reluctantly agreed.
Esther left the private room. Not far away, Fantom smirked and quickly followed her.
After using the restroom, Esther noticed someone following her. She turned around and asked warily, "Why are you following me?"
Fantom chuckled lightly. "Beautiful lady, can we be friends?"
Esther frowned. "Sorry, I'm not interested." She had no good feelings toward men who approached her randomly.
Fantom wasn't angry; he walked closer and said, "Actually, I have something to tell you."
Esther asked suspiciously, "What is it?"
Fantom grinned wickedly. "Today is your unlucky day!"
Esther was momentarily stunned. Before she could react, Fantom pulled out a sharp dagger and lunged at her. Her face turned pale with fear as she screamed.
"Ah!"
Frozen in terror, Esther could only close her eyes in despair as the dagger approached. Fantom's cruel smile widened as he prepared to strike.
Suddenly, a figure descended from above. "Killing someone in front of me? You're underestimating me."
Fantom's face changed dramatically. Before he could react, he was sent flying backward.
In an instant, Shadow stood before Esther. Shadow had been protecting Esther from the shadows all along but wouldn't reveal himself unless necessary.
Chris Shelby approached from a distance. Seeing Chris Shelby, Shadow said calmly, "I'll leave this to you." With that, Shadow disappeared.
Chris Shelby ignored Shadow's departure and walked up to Fantom with a cold smile. "Fantom, your disguise is indeed impressive!"
Realizing things had gone wrong,
Fantom immediately tried to escape. Chris Shelby sneered. "Think you can run? Let's see where you can go today."
With lightning speed, Chris Shelby dashed forward and grabbed Fantom. Without hesitation, Fantom thrust his dagger at Chris Shelby.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Hmph!" Chris Shelby snorted coldly and twisted Fantom's wrist forcefully.
"Ah!" Fantom screamed in pain as his dagger fell to the ground.
Chris Shelby punched Fantom hard in the stomach. Blood spurted from Fantom's mouth.
"Where can you run now?" Chris Shelby asked coldly.
Seeing no way out, Fantom glared at Chris Shelby defiantly.
"You've got guts trying to assassinate my wife!" Chris Shelby growled.
Fantom laughed bitterly. "Chris Shelby, you're truly Amerosia Primus! I was careful but still fell into your hands."
Chris Shelby frowned. "You know my identity?"
"Of course! I wouldn't have come if I didn't," Fantom scoffed.
Chris Shelby couldn't believe that even knowing his identity, Fantom dared to come after him and Esther.
"Aren't you afraid of death?" Chris Shelby asked darkly.
Fantom smiled wryly. "Don't waste your breath! I know my fate now that I'm in your hands. Do whatever you want."
"Rest assured! I won't kill you yet; I want to know who sent you," Chris Shelby demanded coldly.
The fact that someone knew his
identity and still sent an assassin meant they were confident they could succeed. This made Chris
Shelby uneasy.
Fantom shook his head. "I'm just an assassin; my job was to kill you and Esther. I don't know anything else."
Chris Shelby's face darkened further.
If Fantom didn't know who was
behind this, it would be difficult for
him to find out who orchestrated it all
Fantom gave a bitter smile. "Chris Shelby, before I die, I have one last request: let me die by your hand so I can rest in peace."
Chris Shelby nodded. "Alright, I agree."
There was no way Chris Shelby would let Fantom go after attempting to kill him and Esther.
Seeing Chris Shelby agree, a look of sorrow crossed Fantom's face. He had known he would die when he took this mission but couldn't refuse it. Without further ado, Chris Shelby picked up the dagger that had fallen earlier and moved swiftly...
A spray of blood followed...
Fantom's eyes lost their light as he collapsed to the ground.
As an assassin, Fantom had always known this day would come because most assassins don't meet peaceful ends.
