Chapter 710 Chloe Could Only Have One Husband
Chapter 710 Chloe Could Only Have One Husband
Hearing urgent footsteps, Callum poked his head out to see who it was.
"Mr. Callum, there’s something urgent I need to talk to you about."
"What's the matter? Why are you in such a rush? Did you get run over by a car or something?" Callum asked.
"A car running me over would’ve been much better than what actually happened," Felix replied, "Is the madam home?"
"No, she's not here. Go ahead and tell me whatever you have to say," Callum said, puzzled by Felix's anxious demeanor.
"Some people came to find me today. They gave me this." Felix showed Callum the watch in his hand. "I've examined it. It's the one you bought years ago."
Although Callum was the one who had bought the watch, he had not purchased it in person. The watch was registered under Felix's name, thus Chloe mistook him for her father. Felix thought it was better this way. He had been single all his life and had no fear. Callum was different. He had a family and held a high position in society. If something went wrong, it would affect many people.
Callum stared at the watch in Felix's hand, his brow slightly furrowing. "Are you sure that person is her daughter?"
"Most likely," Felix replied.
"What did you tell her?"
"I was afraid she might try to blackmail you, so I told her that the watch belongs to me."
"How did she react?"
"She was pretty emotional, but she refused any form of reparations. She also said that Ms. Luciana passed away many years ago and didn't have a good life."
Callum's eyes filled with sorrow as he looked into the distance. After a while, he sighed deeply. "I never expected her to have left so early.”
"You were tricked. You didn't mistreat her. You offered to take care of her but she refused you," Felix said.
"Get me information on Luciana’s daughter."
Knowing what Callum was about to do, Felix’s eyes widened in surprise. "Sir, you don't mean..."
"I owe it to her."
About an hour later, Felix and Callum came downstairs. Joseph looked at them and said, "You took pretty long to change."
"I ran into some issues. Mr. Callum was helping me resolve them. Sorry for making you wait, Mr. Joseph," Felix said.
Joseph accepted Felix's explanation. He did not ask any further as his mind was fully occupied by Chloe. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Callum instructed the driver to bring the car around and said, "Let's go and get back early."
"Okay."

At the resort, Callum stared at the bullet hole in the ground. He carefully observed the surroundings and said in a serious tone, "This should be Duskfall’s doing. Was anyone injured?"
"No, this property doesn't belong entirely to me, so they wouldn't go too far."
Callum squinted at him and asked, "You're in business with your rival?"
Joseph did not deny it and said, "Keep an eye on things here. I need to handle something inside."
After a while, he returned with several documents.
Curious, Callum asked, "What are these?"
"Share transfer documents. I acquired the shares of a few minor shareholders."
"Between you and your rival, who currently holds more shares?"
"Me."
Callum chuckled. "Are you trying to get Chloe to come look for you?"
"I won't give up anything that allows me to have even the slightest connection to her."
Even if he could not mend their relationship, Joseph was not going to let Noah have Chloe. He just could not bring himself to wish them well.
Jasper was right. He was a selfish man, not a righteous one. Even if he pretended not to care, Chloe belonged to him. He could not hide his love for her. Therefore, he decided to shed away all pretenses. In this lifetime, Chloe could only have one husband, and that person could only be him. Anyone else who tried to approach her would have to prove they were worthy. Besides, Noah was a hypocrite.
Callum shook his head. "You're so persistent."
His phone then rang. It was a message from Felix. He knew without looking that it contained information about Luciana's daughter, and he felt nervous.
