“So you mean to tell me… I mean us that you can’t remember anything at all from the night?” Ana asked me as I finished explaining the story to them. They were all there apart from Resse who was away.
“Yeah,” I reply normally, still feeling so weird about my day yesterday.
“What did you drink?” Claudia asks me now sipping from the glass of wine in her hand. They all had glasses of wine in their hands except for Debby who was heavily pregnant. Ana was sipping lightly because Nick was not there. If Nick was here she couldn’t have it because she was a few weeks along.
“I don’t know. I remember telling the barman that I wanted to get drunk” I explained.
“So how did it feel? ” Cara asked me and I think we all got the hidden innuendo in her statement.
“None of us want to know that please,” Eileen said immediately and I laughed.
“I don’t even want to talk about it. It is one of the weirdest days of my life.” I answered Cara and she snorted at me.
“You guys are no fun,” Cara said and we all rolled our eyes at her. She was this person who always wanted to find fun in everything. I actually loved having her around.
“Rach, don’t feel so bad okay?” Leah finally spoke up after listening all the while.
“I’m feeling terrible. What a good way to actually lose your v card” I said and I heard their gasp.
“You were a virgin,” Debby asked and I nodded.
“And you lost it to a one night stand?” Lila asked and I felt bad.
“Please don’t remind me that” I groan.
“What you need is a distraction,” Ana said, grabbing all our attention.
“Yeah, I have a distraction when I resume work tomorrow,” I say and they all laugh at me.
“I mean you need a break. Among all of us you work the hardest” Tess said and I looked at her.
“You work round the clock to get your trust fund just to build an agency for girls,” Riley said.
“I need that trust fund,” I tell them and they snort at me.
“I need mine too,” Cara said and I raised my eyebrows at her.
“Then do what your parents want you to do” I suggested in a duh tone.
“Yeah whatever,” Cara said and I rolled my eyes at her.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
“What you need is a vacation” Riley suddenly announces and I laugh at them.
“Sorry we are late,” Harper said walking towards us, and Cynthia was right behind her.
“You are just in time for the juicy part,” Anita said to her.
“What juicy part?” Cynthia said, taking a seat on one of the many bean bags left scattered around.
“Well we think Rachael should take a vacation,” Anika said and Harper laughed.
“And you think she will?” she asked.
“Haps is actually right. I don’t need a vacation and waste more time to get that fund I need it now” I tell them. “It’s kind of urgent I add”
“Just one weekend and we will all come with you,” Cara said, smiling smugly.
“Will we get to come too?” Claudia asked and Cara nodded. They all started to make plans for the weekend trip and I doubt if Adams and Nick will let their wives out for this trip.
My phone started ringing in my purse and I took it out to see that it was from work. I slipped out of them and went to take the call.
They were so engrossed in the planning that none of them noticed me move out to a stand where I could hear very well.
“Ma’am” my assistant’s voice Melissa’s voice came from the phone.
“Melissa,” I say with a tone of greeting.
“Your dad… I mean Mr. Mirchoff said I should take care of the details of the next event you have to cater for” she said and I felt so excited. Now I can get my trust fund, can’t I?
“Email me the details this night so I can go over it,” I explained to her. “When is the date?” I asked her so I could know how many staff I would get in ready to help me.
“The date is the 14th of this Saturday,” she said and my eyes widened at this.
“I will be at the office as early as six a. m. so we can go to the bakery,” I explained to her.
“I will have the details sent to you now,” she said and I nodded.
“Thank you, Melissa,” I said before hanging up.
I sit down back and Ana whispers to me. “I’m going to pretend that I didn’t see how to sneak off to answer that call,” she said and I gave her a shy smile.
“Guys,” I say calling their attention and stopping their argument on where to go. This was supposed to be for me right?
“Still girls,” Cara said, getting on my nerves.
“Girls,” I said mockingly and Cara smiled at me. “I can’t go on this trip,” I say and they all gasp. “I mean I would love to go and all but I have an event this weekend and I have to do this” I explain and they all nod in understanding.
“But anytime you need that trip we will all be ready to take off from work and go with you” Lila assured me and I nodded at her.
“Offer still stands,” Harper said and I smiled at them.
“Thank you guys… I mean girls you really are the best” I say almost to tears.
“We know,” Leah answered and I laughed.
The rest of the evening we spent it eating and laughing and talking to each other. We had a great time. I wondered how I would explain my situation to my father and mother. My cousins Aaron and Nick will get super angry when they hear this.
I have already decided that I have to keep this a secret between us all girls.
“You can’t tell anyone,” I said when we were all talking.
“Of course” they chorus half drunk.
“Have some wine,” Riley said, shoving the bottle to me.
“No thank you, last time it didn’t go down too well,” I say, shoving the bottle back.
I had to call all their drivers to take them back home and by the time I had arrived home, I was exhausted so I fell asleep immediately.
