Zachary had just returned to their mansion. He was immediately greeted by their head servant Nana Cora.
“Go to your Daddy first, and I remind you that your father is hot-headed.” She patted him on the shoulder at the same time.
Zachary became immediately tense. He always feels this way when Daddy Calvin demands to see him in the study room, exactly like he did before his vacation in Amanpulo. Calvin, his father, informed him that he was getting married in one month. He has never even met Samarra. Then they decide on a wedding date and location. You are free to take it or leave it. He groaned in frustration.
He trembled as he knocked on the door of his father’s study. He turned the lock silently. As soon as he went in, he appeared trapped in his posture. He was devastated upon seeing his father. He swallowed to alleviate the anxiousness he was experiencing at the moment.
“Where have you been?” Daddy Calvin asked him seriously.
“Hmmph.”Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Zachary swallowed as if he could no longer find his voice. He sighed, stunned as his Daddy Calvin hit the table and almost knocked the swivel chair down with the force of its stand.
“Speak!”
“Dad, we just got back from our vacation in Amanpulo,” he explained.
“Young man, don’t try to fool me.”
Zachary was devastated by what his father said. He knew he couldn’t fool his father with his flimsy excuses.
“I drove Claudel to her condo.”
He saw that his father was stunned, and his jaw clenched, a sign that it was holding back anger.
“Your fiancé came, but you first put your flirtation with the woman. You should be thankful to your brother, if without him. Who will meet and pick up Samarra at the Airport?”
His father began to walk back and forth in front of him, clutching his head. Zachary had an idea that his father was only suppressing his rage. He is still grateful for whatever his father is upset about and is still attempting to communicate with him properly.
“I’m not sure what to do with you,” he said, stopping in front of him. “What are your plans for Claudel?”
“Dad, I love Claudel, and if you want me to break up with her, I won’t. Why are you forcing me to decide that shouldn’t exist?”
“What should it be? Marry that Claude and then see you like a shit when she leaves you? Zach, Samarra is a fine woman, and you will understand what I mean when you meet her.”
“Dad, Claudel doesn’t love me for my money if that’s what you mean; she loves me for who I am.”
His father smiled at what he said. That appears to be unbelievable. It was true, and Claudel did not seem to be after him for money. She had shown how much she loved and admired him for three years.
“How can you be sure she loves you?” Daddy Calvin asks sarcastically.
His father’s question caught him off guard. It seemed to indicate something to him.
“Dad, if you’re trying to discredit Claudel, don’t-”
“Really?”
When his father burst out laughing, he frowned. There was something funny about what he said.
“What for?” he asked, patting his shoulder. “No matter what you say or do, you’ll still marry Samarra in three weeks.”
“If you don’t marry Sam, you won’t get an inheritance. Our parenting is over. We agreed not to pick up Sam at the Airport earlier. But now, I’m not letting you miss the dinner I prepared. Don’t start me with your stubbornness, Zachary!” Before leaving, he gave him a warning look.
He sat on the sofa; his knees melted. He strokes his brow. He had no idea what to do or how to get out of this agreement. He drove his girlfriend Claudel to her condo earlier when he and his friends arrived from Amanpulo. And he went to his older brother Zeke’s office to try to get help. But they couldn’t talk for a long time because his older brother was still having a lunch meeting. He can only think of one possibility. He must convince Samarra to back out of the marriage. Samarra had to take a step back first. So that his father didn’t become angry with him, he assumed Samarra had come to try to convince him not to continue with the wedding.
Zachary smiled as he exited the study room and went to his room. As soon as he entered, he instantly dropped the body on the bed. He closed his eyes and chose to allow himself to sleep.
Zachary awoke around five o’clock in the afternoon. He was speechless for a long time before acting and looking for something to wear. Zachary feels it is too lazy to leave, but he is compelled to do so and realizes Samarra is the key to his freedom. He also brought some clothes and pants to try on. He went inside the CR to take a bath as soon as he found something to wear.
“Is it correct that we must push their wedding date right away?” Lorraine asked her husband, Calvin.
They are currently watching a movie in the living room. Lorraine has hesitations about marrying Zachary to Samarra.
As her husband kissed her neck and hugged her, she smiled. When her husband caresses her, she knows it’s because he wants to do something.
“Didn’t you and Samantha talk about the two kids, Honey? And Frost and I agreed on what you wanted, as I recall.”
She turned to face her husband, who was kissing her neck incessantly.
“What makes you want us to call off their wedding?”
She smiles. “Yes, but you saw your son’s reaction. We might even have a big problem if we force him. Maybe Samarra is the same and doesn’t want to get married; maybe it’s just forced because she can’t protest them. Knowing Samarra, that girl was very kind and obedient,”
“Hmmph.”
Calvin was busy traveling his hand over her body. He didn’t seem to hear anything from what she was saying.
“Honey, are you listening?” she lamely asked her husband to get his attention.
Calvin touched her face and gave her a firm kiss on the lips.
“Dear, let’s let them decide what they will do after the wedding. And one more thing, your son is lucky to have Samarra. And for sure, Samarra can handle our son.”
“I know that. That’s why I like Samarra, smart and beautiful.” Her words were cut short when her husband kissed her again. This time impulsive, earnest and curious, she felt the eagerness in every kiss of her husband.
“Honey, let’s go upstairs. Calvin said, laughing at her, we need to make another Zachary or Ezekiel,” Calvin said, laughing at her.
“You’re insane. What will people say when they find out I’ve been pregnant for eighteen years?” she said, pinching Calvin’s cheek.
“I’m worried about Zachary because he’s too stubborn; I feel I’m getting older.”
“Zachary inherited your attitude. He’s just like you. He’s sweet and impulsive,” she reasoned as she tenderly kissed her husband’s lips, retaliating by pulling her onto his lap.
When they heard footsteps approaching their location, they straightened up and pretended to be watching a movie.
