Upon hearing Anika's words, Yanis smiled and nodded. "Did Iris give you a heads-up?"
Anika chuckled. "Let's go over there."
Yanis nodded, and the three of them headed to a nearby pavilion.
Meanwhile, upstairs in Dr. Wood's office...
Dr. Wood inquired in detail about Bonnie's recent state of mind and emotional responses. After their
conversation, a smile appeared on Dr. Wood's face. "There's nothing to worry about. You just have a lot
on your mind. Relax a bit and try not to dwell on negative things. Get out, take a walk, and things will
get better."
Bonnie felt relieved by Dr. Wood's words. Her initial thoughts were that Yanis and Haider were being
overly cautious, but as time passed, she couldn't deny the changes in herself. Last night, she even had
thoughts that she had never imagined before. This prompted her to seek confirmation and see if she
was really unwell, just as Haider and Yanis suspected. Even if she was unwell, she couldn't let anything
happen to herself, especially with Mles depending on her.
Bonnie snapped back to the present and thanked Dr. Wood before leaving the office. Anika had gone
to find Iris, who was also at the hospital. Bonnie decided to join them.
"Bonnie!" Anika waved as she saw her approaching.
Yanis followed Anika's gaze and saw Bonnie walking over. Her tense demeanor relaxed when she
noticed the ease on Bonnie's face.
"All done?" Yanis asked as Bonnie got closer.
Bonnie nodded and took a seat next to Yanis. She looked at Iris and asked, "Olive is done with his
work?"
Iris replied, "Nothing urgent, so I came to check on Anika."
"We're not bothering you and Yanis, are we?" Bonnie asked Anika and Iris softly.
Anika shook her head repeatedly. "Not at all, you're not bothering us."
Bonnie smiled. "Then we won't leave, even if we're bothering you."
Although Bonnie said that, she and Yanis didn't stay at the South Hospital for long, giving Iris and Anika
space and time to catch up.
After Yanis and Bonnie left, Iris looked at Anika and said, "I'll talk to your brother about our situation
later, and then I'll go see the Old Mr. Lawrence with Grandpa."
Anika nodded. "Okay."
Iris had some business to attend to in the afternoon, so she chatted with Anika for a while and then saw
her off to her room. "I'll come back tomorrow, and I'll have Jefferson bring some food for you in the
evening."
Anika looked at Iris and said, "You don't have to have Assistant Chen come every day. The food here is
pretty good."
"No worries. Just let me know what you want to eat tonight," Iris replied.
Anika approached Iris and hugged her, taking the initiative to embrace her. "If it weren't for you, I might
have stayed here forever."
Hearing her words, Iris held her tightly. "That won't happen."
Anika chuckled softly, gazing at Iris. Just as she was about to say something, she changed her mind
and, without any trace, tiptoed and lightly kissed Iris on the lips. "I know it won't happen because I met
you."
Iris was momentarily taken aback, looking at Anika with a face full of laughter. It felt as if something had
filled her heart in that instant, and she couldn't control herself. Lowering her head, she kissed Anika
back.
Since confirming her feelings for Anika, Iris had always restrained herself as a gentleman. But at this
moment, she couldn't control her actions.
However, this gesture wasn't driven by any ulterior motive; she simply wanted to do it.
Although Anika had initiated the kiss with Iris just now, she was still inexperienced in such matters. The
intense kiss disrupted her breathing, and she even forgot how to breathe properly.
When Iris noticed that Anika was holding her breath, she couldn't help but laugh, breaking the kiss and
looking down at her. "Are you trying to suffocate yourself?"
Anika's ears turned bright red. "I... I just..."
Iris didn't let Anika finish her sentence and kissed her again.
When the kiss ended, Anika's breath was in disarray, and she leaned against Iris's chest.
Iris gently stroked Anika's back. "I'll teach you more next time."
Anika had just managed to catch her breath when she heard Iris's words and ended up coughing
suddenly.
Iris looked at her with a slight smile and patted her back gently until Anika stopped coughing. "Let's go
inside."
Anika nodded and turned to enter the room, waving at Iris before closing the door.
Iris watched the closed door, touching her lips and unable to contain a subtle smile.
Meanwhile, after Bonnie and Yanis returned to the store, Bonnie quickly greeted Yanis and went to
Cooke Residence to see Mles.
Mles was probably here to repay the favor.
Even when he suddenly switched to formula milk, he didn't cry or make a fuss.
He ate and slept well, and even if he was hungry, he only cried for a bit.
"You don't need to worry. Mles is very well-behaved," Freddy reassured Bonnie as she hurriedly This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
arrived.
Bonnie glanced at the living room. "Is he sleeping now?"
Freddy nodded. "He's in your grandfather's room. He probably just fell asleep."
Freddy then poured a glass of water for Bonnie. "If you're busy, go ahead. Take care of yourself, and
come back later in the evening."
Bonnie took the water glass and evaded the question, saying, "I went to see Dr. Wood today. There's
nothing to worry about. You and grandpa don't need to be concerned."
Freddy's expression on hearing Bonnie's words showed a hint of surprise, but he quickly nodded.
"That's good, as long as everything's okay."
Seeing Bonnie's state earlier, both Freddy and Travis were worried. Now that they heard she was fine,
they instantly felt relieved.
After chatting with Freddy in the living room for a while, Bonnie went upstairs to see Mles.
Travis looked at her and asked, "Were you worried that we couldn't take care of him?"
Bonnie smiled. "Yeah, I was afraid you'd secretly paint and avoid him."
