Chapter 932: Mles Hughes
On the phone, Ivan murmured in agreement after listening to Yanis' words. "I'll go take a look tomorrow
morning and contact you immediately if anything comes up."
Yanis replied, "Okay."
After discussing Auntie's daughter, their conversation turned to Bonnie.
Ivan asked with concern, "How is Bonnie doing now? It might take another three to five days for me to
wrap things up here. Initially, I wanted to leave this matter to Darry to handle, but he's been extremely
busy lately and has no time to deal with my affairs. I have to take care of them myself."
"It's alright, you focus on your own things. Didn't you talk to Anran on the phone the other day? She's
doing well now, and so is the baby."
Upon hearing Yanis' words, Ivan felt somewhat relieved.
"I might return next week," Ivan said, pausing for a few seconds before continuing, "Yanis, have they
come to see you recently?"
Even though Ivan didn't mention anyone by name, Yanis immediately understood who he was referring
to.
Yanis answered truthfully, "Since we met at the restaurant last time, I haven't seen them again, and
they haven't come to see me either."
Upon hearing Yanis' response, Ivan felt slightly more at ease. "I've talked to them as well."
Yanis softly said, "You don't have to deliberately talk to them about it. I can handle these things myself."
"They are the kind of people I know better than you. If you don't want to see them, I won't let them
disturb you. Just like you said, it's good to be content with the current situation."
Listening to Ivan's words, Yanis wanted to say something, but the words stuck in her throat. "They
haven't come recently."
Ivan murmured, "That's good."
After hearing someone calling Ivan's name on the other side, Yanis hung up the phone proactively.
After ending the call, Yanis looked at Auntie sitting across from her and whispered, "I'll let you know if
there's any news after he goes to A University to check the situation tomorrow."
Having said that, Yanis paused and looked at Auntie. "Auntie, would you mind giving me a photo of
your daughter? It would be convenient for my friend to find her."
Auntie nodded and sent the photo from earlier to Yanis.
Yanis received Auntie's message and forwarded it directly to Ivan, repeatedly reminding him to go take
a look tomorrow.
After sending the message, Ivan quickly replied.
After dinner, Yanis sat on the sofa in the living room and made a video call to Bonnie.
It took quite a while for the call to connect.
But when the call connected, Yanis didn't see Bonnie, only the ceiling of her house.
"Bonnie?"
Yanis called out.
After several seconds, Bonnie's voice came through the phone. "Yanis, wait a moment."
Yanis responded, holding up the phone and waiting for Bonnie to appear on the screen. "Bonnie?"
Upon hearing Bonnie's voice, Yanis replied, "How was your day?"
"Are you asking me or the child?"
"Both of you."
Bonnie spoke softly, "I'm fine, and the child is fine."
After saying that, Bonnie left the camera again, but quickly reappeared. "Yanis, which of these names
sounds better to you?"
Yanis looked at the several names that appeared on the screen and asked, "Did you come up with all
of these?"
Bonnie murmured, "Which name do you think sounds better? Mles or Miles Hughes?"
"Bonnie, actually you can..."
"I just think Mles sounds nice, representing the meaning of missing." Before Yanis could finish her
sentence, Bonnie interrupted her.
Yanis looked at the names Bonnie wrote down and whispered, "Do you want to ask Haider or the
teacher for their opinions?"
Bonnie shook her head, "No need, I've decided on my own."
In fact, Yanis didn't think the name sounded bad, but she felt that the more Bonnie clung to Myles, the
more severe her condition might become.
She didn't want to see a Bonnie who wasn't quite "normal."
And Myles surely wanted Bonnie to live a peaceful and joyful life.
"It's fine if you like it."
That was all Yanis could say in the end.
After Yanis spoke, Bonnie murmured, "Then let's go with Mles."
"Okay." Yanis softly responded, looking at Bonnie's not-so-pleasant appearance on the screen and
asked, "Haider said you were going back to Cooke family's residence. When are you moving back?"
After listening to Yanis' words, Bonnie fell silent for a few seconds before whispering, "Yanis, I don't
want to go back. I want to stay in the cottage."
In fact, when Haider mentioned it earlier, Yanis already knew that Bonnie wouldn't easily leave the
cottage.
After all, the cottage held beautiful memories for her and Myles. After Myles left, Bonnie had moved in
without hesitation. Given her current condition, she definitely wouldn't leave easily.
"Bonnie? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Yanis looked at Bonnie.
"Yanis, please don't try to persuade me. You should know me best."
Yanis' words got stuck in her throat. She remained silent for a few seconds. "Have you talked to Uncle
Cooke and the others about it?"
Bonnie spoke softly, "I'll talk to them face to face when they come tonight."
"That's fine."
Yanis had intended to persuade Bonnie a bit more, but seeing Bonnie like this, she chose to hold her
words back.
Afterward, the two casually chatted about some matters regarding the store and hung up the call.
After Yanis ended the call, Zane happened to come in through the door.
Yanis heard the noise and put down her phone, looking towards the entrance.
Zane changed his shoes in the hallway
, then walked into the living room and went straight to Yanis. "Why didn't you call me?"
Yanis stood up, took the clothes from Zane's hand, and hung them on the nearby coat rack. Then she Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
looked at Zane and asked, "Didn't you say you had something to take care of? So I didn't call to disturb
you."
As she spoke, Yanis gestured towards the kitchen. "Have you eaten?"
Zane held Yanis' hand and sat down on the sofa, exhausted. "Had a quick meal with Albi."
Yanis looked at Zane's tired face and reached out to massage his shoulder. "Do you want something to
drink?"
Zane shook his head, then turned around and pulled Yanis into his arms, whispering, "Just let me hold
you for a while."
