Chapter 556 Love Her From The Depth Of His Soul
Chapter 556 Love Her From The Depth Of His Soul
At that moment, Jonathan had made up his mind. He believed there were advantages to controlling the vampire. At the very least, it would deter anyone from trying to limit or obstruct the development of Eastsummer.
Jonathan quickly gathered his thoughts. Before long, Catherine emerged from her bath.
She slipped into a purple nightgown, her hair still damp. Jonathan fetched a hairdryer and softly said to Catherine, “Let me dry your hair for you.”
Catherine sat in front of the vanity table, her smile radiant as she nodded in contentment.
Afterward, Jonathan began to carefully blow-dry Catherine's hair. “Catherine, there's something puzzling me.”
Catherine said, “What is it?”
Jonathan continued, “Today, I thought I executed my punch at Ignatius perfectly. Logically, no matter how advanced his skills were, I should have been able to track his movements. However, the reality is that I couldn't react in time at all.”
Catherine explained, “I know the reason. It's because Ignatius's cultivation has reached the Void Divine Stage. He can clearly sense and effectively utilize the surrounding molecules and magnetic fields. When you throw a punch, there's wind resistance and air pressure. But he's like a fish in water, able to breathe freely and even use these forces to his advantage.”
Jonathan said, “It's as if he's wearing ice skates on the ice. The speed and agility of a skilled skater on
the ice is something beyond the imagination of ordinary people, right?”
Catherine nodded in response. “That's exactly it! When a combat expert goes up against Ignatius, there's absolutely no chance of winning—not even the slightest.”
Jonathan shot another question. “What about you? What's your current level of cultivation?”
Catherine paused for a moment before replying, “I'm not sure what my level of cultivation is, or rather, I don't know how to describe it. When my master was teaching me, he simply helped me understand the surrounding magnetic fields, the arrangement of molecules, and their paths of movement. Additionally, he taught me a set of breathing techniques and fist strength techniques. Whenever I act based on these two sets of techniques, the results are always unexpectedly effective.” NôvelDrama.Org © content.
“Can you sense magnetic fields and molecules?” Jonathan could not help but express his astonishment.
Catherine explained, “We're surrounded by infinite molecules and magnetic fields, generating electricity through friction, creating cold with the wind, and experiencing the passage of time, among other things!” She paused, then continued, “All magnetic field molecules exist within a corresponding process, and there will never be any errors. However, sometimes, a master can alter these magnetic field molecules. But even if they are altered, the molecules will return to their calm state, just like water in a tank. No matter how much you stir it, it will return to calm in the relative process!”
Jonathan was still somewhat puzzled. “I'm still a bit confused.”
Catherine elaborated further, “Let me put it this way. Have you ever felt that the same route you walk every day would normally take forty minutes, but sometimes, you feel you could walk really fast using
the same route? But in reality, you still arrive some forty minutes later. Also, sometimes when you attend a class, you would feel that particular class seems to finish early or last forever, even though it's the same duration. The duration is the same, but the perception has greatly differed. This is like when the magnetic fields and molecules are disturbed, they still comply with the theory of relativity.”
Jonathan experienced a sudden epiphany. As Catherine spoke, he realized he was familiar with the feeling she described. Although he had never delved into it in-depth before, now he understood the profound truth hidden within her words.
“Magnetic fields, the rotation of molecules, infinite layer upon layer, yet not a bit chaotic!” Catherine explained, “We need to harness them, let them work to your advantage. This is a highly precise formula, especially when used against enemies, it becomes even more challenging. The most difficult first step is that very few people can truly grasp the existence of magnetic fields and molecules.”
Jonathan agreed with what Catherine said because he simply lacked the ability to sense them.
“Catherine, can you sense it?” Jonathan asked.
Catherine nodded, replying, “Of course!”
Jonathan continue asking, “So, how exactly can one sense it?”
Catherine said, “There are two ways to sense it. One is through cultivating mana. Mana is most sensitive in The Void, and its presence can be felt. However, to reach the level where you can control and utilize magnetic field molecules, your mana must at least reach the Immortal Stage.”
Jonathan could not help but feel frustrated. Despite reaching the Immortal Stage, he was essentially devoid of mana.
Jonathan turned to Catherine with a question burning in his mind. “Catherine, does your cultivation now allow you to control magnetic field molecules? Is this level of cultivation comparable to the Immortal Stage?” He paused briefly before continuing, “Wait, that can't be right. Immortal Stage masters wouldn't stand a chance against Ignatius, yet you can challenge him. Have you truly advanced so significantly in just a few months?”
Catherine answered, “That's not the case.”
Jonathan probed further. “How is that so?”
Catherine explained, “As I mentioned earlier, cultivating mana is just one way. There are also people who are born with the ability to sense magnetic field molecules. Some are born with immense mana! And I belong to the latter, born with the ability to sense magnetic field molecules.”
“I see!” Realization dawned on Jonathan.
As Jonathan carefully blow-dried Catherine's hair, his mind delved into profound contemplation. He was acutely aware of his modest innate talents, which compelled him to rely heavily on his diligent and acquired efforts.
Despite gaining formidable combat force by relying on vampires and reaching the cultivation stage in such a short time, had to sacrifice advancing through the Destino Art.
Mabel and Beatrix pursued a conventional path, characterized by steady progress toward the infinite
wellspring of mana. With increased mana capacity, one's ability to perceive the intricate dance of surrounding magnetic field molecules also expanded.
Once they could truly merge with the magnetic field molecules, they would become invincible.
For instance, even though Jonathan's current combat power was unparalleled, when he encountered Ignatius, he lacked the ability to strike back.
Jonathan understood that reaching the ninth level of the Immortal Stage and successfully condensing the Destino Fruit would grant him potent mana. However, condensing the Destino Fruit was a challenging feat. Even Anakin had not achieved it yet. It would indeed be a formidable endeavor for Jonathan to accomplish.
Nonetheless, Jonathan was not disheartened. He believed he would cross that bridge when he came to it.
Before long, Jonathan had dried Catherine's hair with a hairdryer.
Catherine said to Jonathan, “You should go take a shower too!”
Jonathan bobbed his head in response.
Ten minutes later, Jonathan emerged from his bath, clad only in a pair of boxer shorts. Droplets of water still clung to his skin.
Catherine had already settled into bed with a book in her hands, comfortably propped up against the headboard, engrossed in her reading.
Under the dim yellow glow from the table lamp, she looked exceptionally stunning.
At that moment, Catherine radiated a peak of beauty. Jonathan approached the bed, slid beneath the cool embrace of the blanket, and deftly retrieved the book from Catherine's hands. Then, he leaned in to kiss her lips.
Instead of avoiding his gaze, Catherine stared steadily at Jonathan.
Jonathan kissed Catherine passionately, their lips and tongues entwined in a moment of intense sweetness.
After a while, their lips parted.
Jonathan flashed a gentle smile and said, “Catherine, you want to know something?”
“What is it?” Catherine hummed with curiosity.
Jonathan said, “I've traveled to numerous places and encountered many women in my past. Settling down or considering marriage was never on my mind.” He paused for a moment and continued, “Even when I married you, I saw it as a pragmatic arrangement. I didn't intend to invest any emotions in it.”
“What about now?” asked Catherine.
With profound affection, Jonathan replied, “Catherine, I love you. I love you so much.” He chuckled after speaking, adding, “I can't believe I'd utter such cheesy words.”
Catherine's face radiated happiness as she replied, “Same here. I believed I would live a solitary life forever. I never thought I could fall for someone since I assumed I was incapable of feigning emotions or connecting with others. But then, I met you.”
With a hint of curiosity, Jonathan suddenly asked, “Why do you treat me so differently?”
Catherine responded, “During our time on the Divine Realm's solitary island for the assessment, you didn't utter a word, but I could sense it. You were contemplating sacrificing yourself for my well-being.”
Jonathan was slightly surprised at that remark. He smiled and said, “You were aware of that?”
Catherine pouted slightly, saying, “I'm not a fool, you know.”
Jonathan voiced, “Did that mark the moment you stopped disliking me?”
Catherine nodded before replying, “I just want you to know that I'm incapable of loving anyone else. You're all I got, so you can't abandon me.”
Jonathan's lips met hers as he murmured, “You can't possibly fathom how important you are to me. You're the very essence of my existence, and I'd give my life to shield you.” Pausing, he continued, “I realize this might sound clichéd, but words can hardly capture the depth of my emotions for you.”
“I understand,” said Catherine.
With a gentle smile, Jonathan leaned in and kissed Catherine on the lips.
After a while, Jonathan held Catherine in his arms but made no further move.
“Why did you stop?” Catherine asked, looking puzzled. “You can do anything to me. I'm your wife.”
“It won't bring you pleasure,” Jonathan assured. After a momentary pause, he continued, “Furthermore, our moments together are not always abundant. I want you to relish this precious time with a tranquil heart.”
“But it'll make you happy, right?” said Catherine.
“Let's discuss it tomorrow. Today, I simply want to hold you like this. It surpasses all my desires,” Jonathan replied tenderly.
Catherine chose to remain silent, finding comfort in the embrace of Jonathan's arms.
After years of soul-searching, battling loneliness, and grappling with the grief of losing her grandfather, Catherine finally discovered her haven. In the arms of Jonathan, she had found solace, and their hearts had forged a profound understanding.
That night, for Jonathan, was one of unparalleled peace and joy.
Having weathered numerous trials and tribulations, Jonathan discovered solace in this night.
Life has a knack for surprising us. Jonathan, who had staunchly evaded the idea of marriage, found himself unexpectedly immersed in its embrace. He deemed the prospect of matrimony bleak, yet little did he anticipate encountering Catherine—a woman he loved profoundly, from the depths of his soul.
