CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN
“What happened to you? “I tried to stand up so ee could talk properly but I couldn’t. Blaze approached me and made the bed then made half of it stand on the head and he also answered my question to Margot.
“She helped you. She took you out of your condo. She was hit by falling burning parts. She risks her life to save you.” Margot had a wound on her forehead based on the bandage that was there. Her right hand is also bandaged with arm wrist support. “She had a third-degree burn on her foot,” he added so I looked at her foot with a bandage on the leg as well.
“Why did you do that? Didn’t I tell you not to go up and you might get hurt?” But she did not answer my question. She just bent down while crying.
“We’ll leave you first,” Blaze said. “Love, let’s go.” When they got out, Margot pressed the wheelchair closer to me.
“Does anything hurt?” she asked.
“You haven’t answered my question yet. Why did you go up?”
“Jace,”
“Why did you go up, Margot?”
“Because the rescuer is slow.”
“Why did you go up and risk yourself up?” I insisted but she just cried and then bowed. “Answered me, Margot?” I ask annoyed. Didn’t she think of the possibilities that would happen to her of what she did?
“I’m scared, I’m scared that what might happen to you. I’m scared that you might leave me when we don’t get along and I can’t tell you everything I want to say.” She burst into tears when she cried.
“Margot, don’t cry,” I say calmly because I hate it when I see her cry. I am always anxious to see her cry.
“I’m afraid of losing you without telling you that I still love you. What if there’s anyone I want to be with for the rest of my life it’s just you and you. I’m afraid of losing you because I haven’t apologized to you for my stubbornness. That I haven’t I accepted your explanation.” She was still crying while saying that so I couldn’t hold back my tears either.
“But you still shouldn’t have done that. What if something bad happened to both of us? What will gonna happen to Umami?”
“I also don’t know how to raise Umami alone if I lose you, Jace.”
“Margot.” I cried and reached for her face to lift.
“Because even though I’m mad at you, I know I need you, Jace. I was stubborn because I was hurt but I still love you. I love you so much, Jace.”
“You still love me, Margot?”
“I love you so much, Jace, even though I’m hurt but I love you. I’m just a fool because I’m waiting for this to happen. If something bad happens to you, I don’t know what to do. Maybe I’d prefer to follow you.”
“Forgive me for what I did, Margot. I’m sorry I cheated on you and I hurt you. They’re right, you don’t deserve to have someone like me. But I hope you believe that I regretted it. I really regret that I hurt you. And I hope you believe that what I said to Maggie was not true. That I just really wanted to pissed her then, no matter what, I was wrong because in front of everyone I said that.”
“Jace, did you really love me?” she asked so I caressed her face.
“The first time I saw you, you were special to me. When I first kissed you, I wanted to kiss you forever. Margot, I didn’t marry you just because of Umami. But because that’s also what I want. My friends are right that I was just blinded by my guilt for what I did to Brianna. But if you let me choose me then, I would choose you.”
“Jace.”
“Believe me. I’m more afraid of you refusing to get married to me because I thought you weren’t sure than I was afraid of losing Brianna to me. And to your question, if I did love you? Yes, Margot, I not only loved you then but I love you until today.”
“Jace, I’m sorry, I’m sorry if I didn’t give you a chance to explain. I’m sorry if my anger and pain overcame.” She cried.
“No, I deserve what you did because of my stupidity. I deserve to suffer, be hurt, and be miserable. It was all a lesson to me not to let you get angry.” I laughed and stroked her again. “I love you, Margot.”
“I love you so much, Jace.”
“I love you more, Margot. But I’m still mad at you.”
“I understand. Because of what I did to Umami.” She bowed but I lifted her head.
“Not that.”
“About what?” She asked with a frown.
“Because you went up and came for me. I was really scared for myself because I didn’t want to die but I felt triple the fear when I found out you were going to go up. I don’t know what to do. I hope you’ll be angry forever with me so that you don’t care at me than you dare to come back to me.”
“I was scared, Jace. When we got out and heard an explosion from above I immediately thought of you. The guard blocked us but I really wanted you back then. I was already fighting there because I wanted to go up. I was so scared, Jace. I’m so scared to think about what will gonna happen to you. I don’t know what to do and I have no other thoughts but you.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry if I make you worried,” I said.
“I’m sorry too if I make you worried, too.”
“Margot, are we ok?” I ask. “Are we together now?” she nodded in response.
“I can’t afford to lose you, Jace. I don’t want to repeat what happened before we could be ok. I can’t afford to let us be apart again.”
“Margot, I’ll admit to you, I’m weak to temptation, to any temptation. So I need someone to guide me. And that’s you because I love you. My love for you will be my guide to avoid anything. So I’m asking you to help me.” Then I took her hand. “I beg you to guide me.”
They say the man changed when they love the woman. That’s true, but there are men no matter how much they love the woman there is still a chance that they will soften to temptation. Not even to the temptation of another woman but to the temptation to anything, and so on. Just the word you love is not enough so you will change especially if there are temptations around you. You will need your woman’s guidance, someone will restrict you and tell you that it is forbidden and not allowed. You must have someone to fear.
It is not true the saying that when it is restricted it loosens more. Because the truth is when you love and tighten we will be even tamer because we know that the one we love loves us got angry when we did something wrong. Pride and ego are twins of men, but men are also twins of tame when it comes to their love. And in my case, I needed Margot to guide me. Because I love her and I don’t want to lose her.
“Margot, come back to me. You and Umami. Let’s go home again.” She nodded and kissed my hand.
“Yeah, yeah, Jace.” She smiled at me. “There’s something you should know.”
“What?”
“Do you remember when you caught me fainting and vomiting?” My forehead furrowed because that was the day I had the accident.
“You said you might lack sleep?”
“Yes,”
“Oh why, what’s up?”
“There’s a reason I vomited and fainted.” My eyes widened and I touched her.
“Don’t say —-” Shit, please don’t. “Margot, don’t tell me you’re seriously ill?”
“Jace.” She said with a frown. Wait, what’s going on?
“Ok, I’m really slow. So you can go straight.”
“Tss, do you remember what happened to us in Cagayan?” She bowed but the redness on her face did not escape me. “It formed.”
“Formed, what formed?”
“Oh, Jace, oh you’re really slow always.”
“I know, now tell me what it is?”
“I’m pregnant.”
“You’re pregnant?” I was shocked because of what she said.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Yes.” She looked up at me. “Umami is going to have a sibling.”
“‘Damn it, I’m really a shooter.” I laughed saying.
“So Jace, be good! Now that we’re both fine, be nice, ok?”
“Promise. You and our children are my priority now.”
“It should be just because from now on I’m going to restrict you.” She approached me and even though I was having a hard time I tried to reach her to kiss me.
“Even if you tie me up it’s fine with me. As long as that’s what you want I’ll follow.” She smiled and caressed my face.
“Thanks for coming back, Jace.”
“Thanks for accepting me back, Margot.”
