His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 2972

Shelly had not thought of that and said, "Forget it. I don't want to disturb him."

Seeing how polite Shelly was, the receptionist desperately wanted to help her. "Please wait, Ms. Taylor. I will call up to see if Mr. Tate is busy," the receptionist said and picked up the landline. "Mr. Taylor from Courtney's Cafe brought some kimchi for Mr. Tate. Can you help to ask Mr. Tate if she can come up?"

Shelly felt embarrassed.

She did not want to deliver anything to Hayden at first. However, her mother made some and since Hayden treated both her and her mother to dinner during the weekend, her mother insisted on returning the favor.

Shelly did not think that a man of Hayden's status would be interested in homemade kimchi, but her mother insisted that it was thought that counted and that a favor had to be returned.

Sometime later, Hayden's secretary said, "Mr. Tate asked Ms. Taylor to come up."

"Okay." The receptionist hung up and smiled at Shelly. "Ms. Taylor, Mr. Tate asked you to go up. Let me take you to his office."

The receptionist warmly escorted Shelly to the elevator doors and pressed the floor button for her.

"After the elevator arrives just look for the office without a nameplate. That's Mr. Tate's office," the receptionist instructed.

"Okay, thank you!" Shelly thanked her, and the elevator doors slowly closed.

In no time, the elevator reached the designated floor, and with a 'ding,' the doors opened.

Hayden's assistant, Eliam, was waiting outside the elevator.

Seeing Shelly come out, he immediately greeted her warmly, "Ms. Taylor, I'm Mr. Tate's assistant, Eliam. Please follow me." Shelly obediently followed Eliam and walked towards Hayden's office.

The entire office area on this floor was pure white, from the walls to the door and window decorations, giving it the appearance of a completely different realm.

Shelly curiously looked around and noticed that each office had a different interior design. It was not as visually striking as the pure white outside, as working in a completely white space would feel oppressive.

"Ms. Taylor, we've arrived. Please go in!" Eliam smiled and spoke, "Mr. Tate happens to be getting ready for lunch. Hopefully, your kimchi will suit his tastes."

Shelly felt awkward and smiled without knowing what to say, as he was clueless as to whether Hayden would like the kimchi.

The kimchi her mother made wasn't too sweet, sour, or spicy- it was just right, in her opinion.

After entering the office, Hayden

sit... My mother asked me to bring you her homemade kimchi. Since you treated us to a meal on Saturday, my mother insisted that I bring some for you. If you don't like it, you can throw it away. It's okay with me." Shelly handed him the bag.

Hayden took the bag and pulled out the jar.

The jar was clean, and although it had not been opened yet, a delightful aroma wafted from it.

"Have you eaten?" Hayden asked. "I haven't, so why don't you have some food before you leave? If the kimchi isn't to my taste, you can eat it." Shelly could not find words to respond because what he said made sense. She did not want to waste the kimchi her mother had painstakingly made. "Where will you eat? Here in the office?" Shelly could not see any food in his office.

"This way," Hayden said, holding the jar of kimchi and walking toward a room adjacent to the office.

To her surprise, right next to the office was a resting room that had a bed, a sofa, and a dining table.
