His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 2903

"Alright! Try the pregnancy test. There are instructions written inside. Just follow the steps." The staff scanned the pregnancy test and helped her with the payment.

After the payment, Shelly immediately shoved the pregnancy test into her bag and hurried back to her apartment.

Courtney had just spent the last bit of her savings and was packing to go home.

"Shelly, my tenancy contract doesn't expire until a month after today, so I might come by anytime," Courtney said to Shelly. "Pray for me. I don't want to get into another big fight with my family. Living with no money sucks."Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

"Just apologize to them first. I'm sure they don't want to see you suffer." Shelly set her bag down to walk Courtney out of the apartment.

"What medicine did you buy?" Courtney glanced at the bag.

"Oh... My period is late by a few days. It's not a big deal."

"Oh, that's normal, isn't it? It's not like it's a few months late. I once went on an extreme diet, and I didn't get my period for two months straight," Courtney said with a smile. "It's normal for cycles to be irregular from time to time, so don't worry."

"Sure. Do you have money for a taxi?" Shelly helped Courtney with her bags, and the two stepped out of the apartment.

"Yeah, I still have some money left. It's the weekend, and I figure my parents will both be home." Courtney stopped and grabbed the bag in Shelly's hands. "I will get going now. Rest well during the weekend! I will contact you once I get them to fund our business idea."

Shelly did not take Courtney's words seriously as the funds required to start a business were enormous, costing in the thousands or millions.

After the chaos Courtney had caused, her parents would never agree to give her such a big amount of money all of a sudden.

Shelly watched as Courtney entered the elevator, before heading back into the flat.

She locked the door behind her and exhaled a long breath.

"I can't be pregnant, right? Please don't tell me I'm pregnant!" she mumbled to herself as she went over to the coffee table to grab the pregnancy test.

After studying the instructions carefully, she took the pregnancy test out of the package and headed into the bathroom.

Five minutes later, she went out with the test and stepped toward the window to see if there were two lines on the strip.

bet

She stared at it for two minutes nervously, before recalling that the instructions had stated that the results would not show up until ten minutes later.

She took a deep breath and started pacing back and forth in the room.

"I can't be pregnant... It was just one time. A friend from my village didn't get pregnant despite trying for three years, so it's not that easy to get pregnant... Why else would there be so many advertisements for products that treat infertility?" she mumbled as she circled around the living room.

Some time later, she figured that ten minutes had passed and went back to the window to stare at the pregnancy test under the sunlight.

"There's nothing... Wait, there's

something now... Is something.

wrong with my eyes, or am I seeing

two lines? Oh, God! Am I pregnant? No way! Let me do another one later..."

She set the pregnancy test on the coffee table and looked up her results on the internet.

[The lines shown on the strip will be light in the early stages of pregnancy and intensify as the pregnancy progresses.]

[It's best to use the pregnancy test on urine from your first pee in the morning.]

[Pregnancy tests aren't a hundred percent accurate, so it's best to get a blood pregnancy test done in the hospital.]

...

All the comments on the internet only made Shelly more nervous as she instinctively knew that, by Murphy's Law, she was likely pregnant.

'I have never dated, nor am I married. If I'm pregnant, how am I supposed to explain myself to my family and friends?!' she thought.
