"We were just like her when we were in our twenties, weren't we?" Avery thought back to the days when she was young; it all felt like yesterday. All the memories seemed fresh, yet so far beyond her grasp. Shortly after, Kiara came running down the stairs with a gift she received.

"Mom, Layla, and Ivy gave me this for New Year's." Kiara showed Shea a sophisticated purse. "Look, Mom, it's the shape of a slot machine. It's so pretty! I love it! Layla bought one for Rose as well." After showing Shea the purse, Kiara opened it and took out a pearl hairpin.

"Mom, this hair clip goes great with what you are wearing today. I will put it on for you," Kiara said and clipped the pearl hairpin onto her mother's hair.

"He is never anxious, except when Harrod gets hurt at school. Ben doesn't care how well Harrod does at school as long as he graduates. He said that he would plan Harrod's path accordingly once Harrod develops an interest in something."

"Lilith, my daughters aren't high achievers at school either," Shea said. "Rose and Kiara don't really enjoy studying, so we don't push them."

Rose and Kiara were at the age where they cared more about how they looked, and since Wesley and Shea were not at all demanding, the two children maintained an average performance at school.

"But your daughters are so pretty and sweet. If Harrod doesn't focus on his studies now, he might not get a wife when he grows up," Lilith said.

"You are worrying too much." Avery sighed.

Shea sighed as well. "Lilith, you should try to think about something else. That way, both you and Harrod will be able to catch a break."
