CHAPTER TEN
I went straight to the conference room and caught up with my companions who were already preparing something.
“What’s going on here?” I asked them.
“We have a meeting, fool, I think you had so much fun last night so you forgot.” I raised my eyes to Jace at what he said then lowered what I was carrying.
“Is it good to be married, Phoenix?” I was surprised because Maggie was here too.
“What are you doing here?” I ask.
“She’s our client for today. Shall we start?” Dane said. Why I was not informed?
“You really pushed yourself with Blaze huh, Maggie,” she just laughed out loud and smiled.
“I am Phoenix because I am serious with him.”
“You know, let’s have a meeting,” Blaze said annoyed. I dug the folder on top of the attaché case but nothing. I looked at it inside but there was also nothing. That was the proposal at the meeting that I made last night.
“Something wrong?” Dane asked me.
“You don’t have a proposal? It’s ok, just do it manually, no issue. It’s just me, so whatever you present to me is no problem,” Maggie said smiling.
“Damn,” I hissed when I remembered that I had put it on the table.
“Excuse me, Sir Phoenix, someone named Hailey gives you something important,” my secretary came and give me the folder. They all looked at me when I reached for the folder. The proposal I made last night.
“Who’s Hailey?” Maggie asked.
“If not in the business, don’t ask.”
“I’m not asking you, Blaze. Don’t worry, I’ll talk to you later,” Maggie interrupted Blaze.
“Where is she?” I ask my secretary.
“She’s in your office, Sir, madam Jessa’s talked to her.”
“What?” I knew she was in the USA. She left that night after something happened to us and we keep in touch through phone calls. Why didn’t she say she was going home?
“Madam Jessa just arrived when Miss Hailey arrived. Then they talked and went to your office.”
“And who is Jessa?” Maggie asked.
“Hailey is Phoenix’s wife and Jessa is his mistress,” Dane answered.
“Wow Dane, did you really let that woman know?” I said angrily and glared at Dane.
“Why? She’s going to be Blaze’s wife too, so, what’s wrong?”
“I like you, Dane,” Maggie said.
“Seriously, Dane? Of all people do you still believe that I will marry that woman?”
“C’mon Blaze, you know that once what I said it will come true.”
“Well, one of the ones that won’t come true is what you said today.”
“Let’s say, Blaze.” Dane smile.
“We can cancel the Phoenix meeting, I can wait. Go to your wife and your partner first and maybe they’ll fighting right now,” Maggie said.
“Damn,” I left them and walked quickly to the office. Never dare that girl to hurt Jessa and in front of a lot of people she will taste hell. I was close to the door of my office when it opened and that woman came out while Jessa was in the back.
“I’ll go, nice to meet you,” she said goodbye to Jessa.
“Nice to meet you, too.” She bent down and walked until she’s in front of me.
“I just bring your papers. I saw that you were made it the whole night so I thought you needed it now.”
“What did you and Jessa talk about? Did you insult me with her?” Even though we were in front of my secretary and Jessa I held her hand tightly. “Did you talk bad against me?”
“I didn’t say anything bad.”
“Just make sure, or you’ll you will see what I can do.”
“Phoenix, can we talk?” Jessa catches my attention.
“Sure.” I let go of her and looked badly. “Go home,” I whispered. When I got close to Jessa I immediately took her inside and then closed the door. I kissed her but she averted her face.
“Babe,” I call her. She smiled at me. “You didn’t say you were going to visit me.”
“I wanted to surprise you and it helped because I met your wife before we did anything wrong.”
“What do you mean?” Suddenly my cell phone rang but I ignored it.
“She’s nice, Dane was right, she is kind and looks innocent.” The call doesn’t want to stop but I just ignore it.
“What did Dane tell you?”
“About your wife and I guess she’s is right. At first, I did not believe her, coz I only believe you. But after meeting your wife, I guess Dane is right.
“Babe, I thought we already talked about this? Don’t tell me you’re jealous of her? She’s nothing.”
“Stay with her, Phoenix.”
“What are you saying, babe?”
“I believe in everything you said against her. But, when I talked to her. She’s really different from the woman that you’ve mentioned. She’s nice, fragile, an innocent, maybe you just don’t see that because you’re mad at her.”
“What are you saying? Tell me directly.”
“I’m breaking up with you. And this time, I won’t be coming back to you. Maybe I already kept my promise to come back to you when you get the share of Luxury. But, I am breaking up with you again.”
“What did that woman tell you?” I’m sure that woman said something to Jessa. Did she say something happened to us?
“Nothing, she said a lot of good things about you. She defended you, she never said bad things about you. Unlike you who almost cursed her in front of me.”
“Are you also one of those manipulated by that woman?”
“No, Phoenix, I just can see what you can’t see, because you blinded your heart with anger.”
“Jessa, you’re all I want, ok. Let’s say she’s kind, you said it, they said it. But she’s not the one I need. You, you’re all I need.”
“But, she’s your wife.”
“I will file an annulment, ASAP. Wait for me, and I will prove to you that you are the one I love.”
“I’m sorry, Phoenix, I love you, yes. But I won’t let you and your wife separate because of me. I won’t be the reason then.”
“I won’t allow it to happen to us.”
“You have no choice because I’m going back to America and I’m not going to show you up to you anymore.”
“I’ll still file an annulment with her even if you’re gone.”
“It’s your loss, not her.” Then she stood up. “Thank you for loving me, Phoenix, but I swear, you’ll be happier with her if you open your heart. Our broke up is a blessing in disguise for you to have a chance. Or let’s say the deal helped you to make her yours.”
“Why are you doing this, Jessa?”
“Because she’s the one you really need and not me. Thank you and goodbye.”
She kissed me on my cheek then walked out but stopped. “Open your heart to her, Phoenix, before it’s too late.”
I wanted to beg her to stay but I wouldn’t do that. She will return once that woman and I separate. I’ll come back to her again when I’m single. I know that she will still in love with me and I can take her back.
I clenched my fist. It was that woman’s fault. Maybe she said a lot to Jessa. That woman insulted me to her. Jessa and I are ok and she is willing to be my mistress and promised to wait for me. But they just talked, she broke up with me again.
“Hey, where do you go?” Dane asked me when I got out of the office.
“Home.” Get ready woman, because you will taste my wrath.
I speed up the car to get home quickly. I want to reach her to confront her. I never parked my car properly because I am in hurry. When I got inside I found her crying. She cries for what? For me to feel sorry for her?Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
“What did you say to Jessa, huh?! And don’t cry because I can’t get at your mercy!” I shouted and grabbed her hand and held it tightly.
“He’s gone,” She said crying so I frowned.
“Don’t pretend to be hurt that Jessa left me, because it was your fault then!”
“He’s left us.” What is this woman saying?
“What are you saying?!”
“Grandpa Alejandro is gone.”
“What?” I calmed down because of what she said. “What’s wrong with grandpa?”
“Grandpa Alejandro is dead, Phoenix. He left us.”
