Chapter 11 I am someone you shouldn’t have met.
The Next Day.
…
Beatrice felt intense pain on her joint bones and she grunted in pains and opened her eyes.
Arg. She held on to her waist as she sat up.
Geez. Sleeping here on the couch sure made her whole body to be in pains.
Ugh! She should have slept in one of the rooms but she just have to be a lady that plays along with the standards.
Since Gregory acted all grumpy last night, she didn’t get a chance to talk to him about that.
She yawned and stretched her body in an exercise way.
She stood up and rolled her scattered hair up in a messy manner.
She scuttled to the kitchen and boiled some water.
She made a cup of tea for herself and sat behind the counter, with her hands wrapped around the warm cup.
This isn’t what she’d pray and hope for. This isn’t how she meant to spend her life.
Why does she have to be so entangled with such man?
She drank a little out of her tea and shuts her eyes.
“Father Lord, if only you will let me off this one time, then, I will forever praise you.”she took her gaze up to the ceiling and said to herself.
“Sadly, after he’d let you off, you won’t fulfill that.”she heard the voice she dreads the most, the voice she never wanted to hear, especially in this cool morning, behind her.
She scoffed but ignored his statement.
He walks in fully and snatched up a bottled water in the fridge.
“That’s what you humans do the most. You promise, then you run off without fulfilling them after you’ve gotten what you wants.”he popped the cover opened and took some gulps down.
Beatrice got down from the chair, abandoning her tea and heading out of the room.
She heard his scoff behind her but she cared less.
She went to nab her phone from the table and logged in to her social.
“A beautiful morning to the lady.”Kiara yawned upon getting down.
“And, a blissful morning to the little miss too. Hope you had a great night?”
“Oh, don’t even get me started.”she stood akimbo.
“I had a nightmare.”she sighed.
“You wanna talk about it?”
“Why not. I dreamt that I wasn’t unable to finish my breakfast. I mean, I’m sooooo hungry right now.”she pouted, touching her stomach.
“I think I had a good one. I dreamt that both you and Uncle got married.”Jared also came down.
“What the?!!!”Beatrice scoffed.
“Never!”she laughed it off.
“Why is it never, not ever?”
Gregory stepped out of the kitchen and rests his back on the wall, waiting for what she was going to say.
“He is this up,”she raised her hand up to an upper level.
She raised it down to the floor and said,”while I am this down.”.
He crossed his arms over his chest.
“No different though, you’re both humans, aren’t you?”Jared pressed on.
“No. Since he is so high, his taste would be high too. He prolly likes classy women.”Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Well, he doesn’t go out.”Jared tried to defend.
“Internet, little chummy. There is internet, and he could court any lady through that.”Beatrice replied.
“That would be too cheap of the lady!”Mirabel also intervened.
“Besides, age is just a number.”he remarked.
“What?”they scoffed.
“No one is talking about age here, but their levels, bruh.”Kiara laughed.
“Oh, sorry, I went out of it a bit.”Mirabel grinned.
“Alright, guys, let’s go take our bath and order for our breakfast.”Beatrice announced, feeling awkward about their talks.
“Ggg, I was hoping to have an homemade food as breakfast though.”Kiara stomped her feet on the ground.
“Oh, well, on someone’s order, I do not have the right to worry over anyone here in this house. Now, attaboy!”
“I do think you and Uncle Gregory would make a perfect couple though.”Mirabel uttered.
“Alright, what’s up with you all?. Yesterday, you were all bitch’ing me around but you suddenly felt it is nice of you to attack me with a marriage with an arrogant jerk this morning?. That is not at all amazing.”she rants out.
“J.. jerk?”Kiara called and turned to the direction of Gregory who had a frown on then laughed.
“I won’t say anything.”she giggled before going up.
Mirabel followed after her.
“Remember, marriage is essential.”Jared winked at her and also left.
Beatrice puffed out some air and gripped her hair.
What the fuck?!
Marriage?!! Of course, that would be in her nightmare.
And, to say her heart skipped a beat when he said that.
Holyy coww.
Not to that bitch guy, though!
“Eavesdropping doesn’t seem that bad. I’ve always wondered what made people do that.”he said behind her.
She flinched back in fear and turned her look to him.
He smirks.
He unfolds his arms and took short strides towards her.
“You agreed to obey my every word so, even if I propose a contract marriage, you sure you would want to go against my decision?”he gave a lopsided smile.
Beatrice scoffed and stood up.
“I can always terminate the contract, yo..”
“Oh, I forgot.”he touched his brain.
“My apologies for having such a loose memory.”
“You can always terminate and I believe you can always indemnify the loss that occurred on my side.”he picked out his words.
“What loss?. I..”
“You didn’t signed the contract without reading it carefully, did you?. You agreed to pay me $10, 000 should you terminate the contract first. Woah. I didn’t actually think you won’t read that.”
“You fucked man!”She yelled up him.
He definitely did not give her enough time to read that. So that was purposeful?
She felt a loud metal was banged on her head.
What the hell?!!!
Ten thousand dollars?!
Where is she going to get that?
“You still don’t understand, do you?.”he clicked his tongue.
“That amount is probably worth all your life savings, but, for a man like me, it’s nothing. Just a measly amount I spend on my breakfast.”he chortled.
He adjusted the gold ring on his finger with a sigh.
“And, I deliberately added that clause so you won’t get away from me as I know you won’t ever think of terminating the contract with such consequence in.”
Tears brimmed out of her eyes and she shook her head.
“Why are you doing this to me?. You.. who are you really?”she sobbed, suddenly developing cold feet.
“Me?”he pointed at himself.
His mouth twitched and he flattened his lips.
“I just happen to be someone you shouldn’t have met.”the smile on his face disappeared and he stared out at her, grimly.
